  • Can you add purple dye (& how much) to conditioner to act as toner?

I've heard you can add a tiny bit of purple hair dye to conditioner to keep bleached hair toned. Question 1 is this true? And Question 2, how much to add?? I don't want purple hair!

  • The chiropractor next door to me is dumping chemicals in my yard?

Once or twice I have seen the chiropractor next door come outside and dump something out of unmarked jugs into the grass along the side of the building. I went over an looked and there are two blue jugs similar to gasoline containers, and one regular jug like you would keep bleach in. My best guess is X-Ray developing chemicals (I can't think of anything else a chiropractor would need). I was wondering if

    a) Could it be something other than X-Ray chemicals,

    b) exactly how dangerous are X-Ray chemicals if that's the case,

and c) what legal action can / should I take???

The area he's dumping is at the back of my yard, beyond about ten feet of weeds that separate my yard from his side wall. My kids don't play in the weeds but depending on how dangerous the chemicals are, I'm concerned about them being in the ground and in the air.

  • What's the best daily kitchen floor cleaner if you have kids?

I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old. My husband and I both work full time. My kitchen floor is a constant gross mess! Today my husband suggested we invest in a fancy vacuum / mop thing for the kitchen. He is currently on his computer (yahoo answers just told me I have 46 misspellings) comparing. I said, maybe we should just go to a parenting forum and ask what moms prefer!

So, what's the best vacuum mop combo for cleaning mashed up Cheerios and Juice at the same time?

  • What to mix in this cool shot glass?

I got a shot glass that is split down the middle so you put two liquors in it and they mix as you drink. What shots are better mixing as you drink instead of mixing prior?

  • What to do with oily hair and frizz!?

I have oily hair but when I wash it I get frizz!

My hair is straight and fine, but when I wash it I get frizz. I'll wash in the morning, and as it dries it frizzes. Then the frizz calms down, and my hair will look great for the first half of the next day. By that evening, it starts to look oily and separates and I can't do a thing with it.

I asked a stylist for help, and she recommended Paul Mitchell's Special Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. That helped, a little. But the more I used it the more my hair dried out, and the frizzies got worse. The slight oil control wasn't worth the damage. I switched back to regular shampoo (Herbal Essences) and the life has come back but the frizzies remain!

I asked a stylist yesterday if there was a good product for me, but she said any frizz control she could think of would be too heavy for my oily hair. That makes sense to me because I can't use most products because they weigh down my hair and make the oiliness worse.

Other info: I have been blonding my hair with an at-home kit for 10 years, but my hair has been oily all my life (I'm now 32). I don't blow-dry and rarely use product. And I'm tired of wearing my hair up!!!

  • is Cane on y&r really dead?

I haven't been able to watch recently, but I know Cane was witnessed being shot.. And I saw Lily i.d. his body at the morgue... Dead, right?

I missed several more episodes - she was being haunted, then visited, and now meeting him at the cemetery... and she can feel him. Dead or no? She asked him about "crossing over," but that seems to be her take on it when he may actually be real. Given my take on soaps, I'm sure he is alive, but I know when ratings get low, they tend to throw curve balls such as ghosts.

  • Can I get the township to pay for my tire?

Stupid pothole put a fist-sized egg in my tire and bent the rim. $180. Is it reasonable to ask the township to pay for this?

  • my daughter says it feels like someone is shaking her head?

Every time she closes her eyes and starts to fall asleep she jerks back awake and starts crying... she says it feels like someone is shaking her head (fast) and she doesn't understand why it is happening. Finally she vomited (no fever) and had about 3 more "head shaking" episodes before passing out, and is currently sleeping. We called the doctor and they think it is psychological and recommended an evaluation. Oh and the first time she complained I discovered she had been chewing on paper, I looked it up and it's a symptom of iron deficiancy...?

  • how do I help my 6yo daughter accept she will no longer have a playroom?

My daughter has had her own play room in our finished basement for just over 3 years - which at her age translates to as long as she can remember. We had a baby in December, who is currently sleeping in a crib in our now-overcrowded bedroom. He is over 8 months old, and we need to move him into his own room! But we only have 2 rooms! So we decided to add a bathroom to the basement, and turn the finished rec room (that we never use!) into a master bedroom. The problem is that her play room is beyond the main room, so she would have to go through it to get to her play room... and I'll be honest.... I want a walk-in closet!!!

Well, obviously, she was not happy about the idea! She cried a little, and basically refused the idea. The next afternoon she comes up to me out of the blue all teary-eyed and tells me again that she doesn't want to give up her playroom. I drew a total blank on what to say! Now she is spending all day down there - which she has never done before.

i have tried making a playroom-in-the-bedroom seem enticing, but she's not buying it. We have even told her she could keep our TV (she has never had one in her bedroom, but there is one in the playroom) and that didn't help, either. I don't know how else to help her accept it. Any suggestions??

  • What are the causes of Failure to Thrive?

My 6 month old son was recently diagnosed with Failure to Thrive. He is a normal, healthy happy baby with a big appetite. He was gaining weight at a normal rate, and suddenly stopped gaining any weight at about 5 months. He is still taking in between 34 and 40 oz of formula daily. The weight drop-off began around when we started experimenting with rice cereal and an occasional stage 1 food. That, in addition to a high birth weight (9lbs 3oz) and being born with low blood sugar, I'm terrified it may be juvenile diabetes (although he doesn't show any other symptoms). We don't get the results for the blood work for a week and I am getting increasingly nervous!!
