I started writing a book about two weeks ago, I know that's not a long time. Ill admit sometimes, or more often then not, my grammar is off. these are not necessary the main characters especially not Maura but I was thinking of starting the book along these lines. Im hoping it will be like a fantasy book following these kids and other survivors after their town is destroyed by dragons and some get separated and stuff like that.

Maura woke up with a start, she was breathing heavily and was covered in sweat. She usually had beautiful long blond pin straight hair, flawless pale skin and bright blue eyes just like her mother. At that moment though her hair was a mess, her face was flushed and tears swelled in her eyes. It took her a minute to remember where she was. Her eyes weren't quite adjusted to the darkness of the room but after a couple of blinks she realized she was in the comfort of her own bed. She lay there for a minute still slightly shaking from her dream. It happened again, another nightmare this one felt more real than ever. Dragons, dragons everywhere they came down from the mountains, they burnt down buildings, ate her friends, demolished her town. Frightened just thinking of it she squeezed her eye as tight as possible, trying to think of anything else. It almost worked until she heard the house creek. That was her breaking point she jumped out of bed and ran across the room, hitting her leg against a table as she went. Quickly she made it to the side of Kara’s bed.

Kara was also quite pretty but she looked nothing like her sister, she looked more like her father than mother. Dark brown long hair with olive skin and eyes so dark brown they almost looked black. Kara felt her little sister poke her and she moved over to make room without even opening her eyes. She knew as soon as Maura was born she would be mostly her responsibility. She wasn’t exactly a ‘planned’ child, space and food was already sparse before her birth. Not to mention their parents were hardly ever around. So Maura was raised mostly by Kara with some help from their brothers Lucas, Kai and Remmie. Kara turned to face Maura who was already under her covers ‘you alright?’ she whispered. She nodded. ‘another nightmare?’ she nodded again. ‘just go back to sleep, it was just a dream’.

Within minutes Maura fell fast asleep. Kara was up now though she laid on her back and looked up at the ceiling. She ought to be frustrated with Maura for waking her up, it was the third time this week. Though she found it hard to be angry at her. She slowly sat up in hopes that she wouldn’t wake Maura and reached for the candle on her bed side table. It took a second but soon she found it and lit it. Shielding the light from Maura's eyes she got out from the covers and jumped out from under the bed. The ground was cold upon her feet as she made for the kitchen.

I realize it sounds a little juvenile right know but i didn't want to start off in bloodshed is there anything you see that could make it sound less juvenile

I really enjoy game of thrones the show and also need a new book to read, but don't want to read it if i already know exactly whats going to happen because of the show. Is it different enough to be worth it?

or what good books are similar I was thinking of starting The Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson do you know if that one is any good?

just finished playing silent hill and really liked what other games have the same style or are just good in general,, please don't say cod it has to many fan girls/boys. not that it makes a difference but its for ps3

I race around the corner, sweat is dripping down my back and blood dripping down my forehead. I look up the street and I see it, I’ve always hated the sight of it. I run faster than I have ever run in my life thanking god that I own that piece of **** car. As I run all I think is that it has to start, more than ever before it has to. Almost there when my foot hits a rock, I fall and smack my knee on the pavement. The pain shoots up my leg, but there no time to deal with it. Finally I make it to my car my whole body aching, the pain in my knee numbing out the pain in my head. I pull and pull on the door screaming terrible words before i remember its locked. As I scramble through my pockets to find my key I see my reflection in the window and I look worse than I thought. My cut on my forehead has dripped blood down across my eyebrow and down my cheek, my hairs a mess complete with twigs and dirt. I just grab my keys when I hear it, the sound of his car. It frightens me to the point that I almost drop my keys. I don't dare turn around I just jam they keys into the lock harder then I have ever done thinking not today *****. Slamming the door behind me I sit down. I see him now and I know he sees me I drop the keys. Damn. I lock the car knowing it won’t help. He gets out of his car walks ever so slowly as I scramble behind my seat for my keys. I feel them but can’t get a good grasp, I start to pick them up and they slip, I try again and this time I got it. I place them into my car and turn them *creek* *creek* nothing, the engine didn't start. he smiles. Crying I try again. He slams his hand down on the hood and I jump.

I try to turn the keys again *creeeeeek* I push so hard the key breaks. He walks up to the car window, takes his flashlight and breaks open the window. Glass shatters everywhere and cuts deep into my face. I push back against my seat. He reaches down and unlocks the door as I back into the back seat. He opens the door as I reach for the back door and just as I grab the handle he grabs onto my legs and pulls me. I grab onto the edge of the back seat but its futile he’s too strong. As he pulled me to the front seat my leg scratches against a piece of glass. I grab it and dig it deep into his arm. He yells and his grip weakens. Taking advantage of this moment I kick him in the face. He staggers out of the car and I jump out and lose my balance for a second. Then I run or more hobble as fast as possible. I don’t get far before he grabs me around the waist and throws me over his shoulder. All I need is one car one bike rider or walker to go by and i’d be fine but no one does.

I know my grammars off this is just rough and there's spell check for that ;)

I am doing an essay on the battle of Thermopylae where the 300 spartans held off the persians but eventually all died, I was doing some background info but i couldnt find how far it stretched, any other info on the battle would be appriciated:)
