  • My 2001 town and country shuts down.?

I have a Town and Country with under 101,000 miles on it. I was driving down the road when it shutdown completely and everything was lit up. I pulled into a parking lot and shut the ignition off. But everything was still lit. The digital PRND3L (or something like that) odometer was still lit. And a few lights were on, tranny alarm, and i think oil. This is with the key out. I placed the key back in and tried to turn it over and nothing not even those lights budged. So I figured I will unplug the battery and reconnect. Well it worked. I continued on my way to the store and back home. So on my way back home my van dies again. I pulled into the parking lot. Disconnected and reconnected the batteries it didn't work after several times. I called a tow company and gieco said that she will call me back. I figured I'll leave the battery disconnected longer. I reconnected it and then it ran and I drove home then geico called and I cancelled the town. Keep this in mind. The battery is new and when i got it home i ran the car with the battery disconnected. So it's not a battery problem. It's not the alternator. I''m thinking it's the vehicle computer. I also tried to roll down the windows but the windows didn't work during this breakdown. The interior and locks worked.. Does anyone agree with me? It's not a starter problem or a solenoid problem or an o2 sensor as that is brand new. It's got something to do with the electronics.

UPDATE: I JUST INSTALLED A NEW ECM BUT ON THE CARMD IT GIVES ME THE SAME CODE OF (13) I'M SURE IT WILL SHUTDOWN AGAIN. I'M WONDERING IF IT'S THE TCM.

  • Is anyone suffering from the same sleep disorder?

I have been to a couple doctors about my sleep disorder. I have a problem initiating sleep. If I don't take sleep medication i.e. ambien. I will stay awake for days and weeks at a time, unless I take my sleep meds. It's been like this since 2004 and I'm just about to give up. Does anyone else have this same problem? It's not sleep apnea, as sleep apnea won't interfere with initiating sleep. Ambien in the past would knock me out for 8 hours, but only works for about 2 hours. I'm thinking chronic insomnia, but from my understanding it's temporary. Any info is greatly appreciated.

  • Installing a car stereo. Speakers?

Thanks to designkidcom for the help earlier. Now there is one wire left, it's a black/yellow wire no juice to it. The memory, illumination lights are working. I have six speakers total, four out of the five speakers are working. However, the one on the left and the right are not working. The dashboard and the back speakers are working. I'm thinking the black/yellow wire would go to the left and right doors negative speaker wire. That's just a guess. Any more solutions?

  • I need help installing my car stereo, in regards to the wiring.?

I have a 96 dodge caravan. the constant and ignition wiring. Are they suppose to be connected to the red wire, so two wires connected to one wire. And does the purple wire (I believe that's the memory) suppose to be connected to the power as well? If anyone knows how to do this let me know.

  • I noticed that I'm having trouble starting my 96 Dodge Caravan, after it's been raining all day.?

I do need an EGR Valve which is causing the check engine light to come on and failing emissions. I put dry gas in the vehicle about a week ago and fuel injection cleaner. I last started my car on Saturday and Monday in the late afternoon I tried to start it and couldn't. I felt like it wanted to start, it would back fire when it tried. Finally after recharging the battery a couple of times it finally started and backfired. Now it's running like a charm. How do I prevent this from happening again?
