  • 1979 Kawasaki KL250 won't start, need general help.?

    I just purchased this bike after it has been sitting for about 5 years. The previous owner said he had it running 5 years ago.

    I drained the gas tank and put new gas in (the old stuff wasn't too bad), cleaned the carburetor (it wasn't too bad either though) and replaced the batter.

    It tests for spark and compression feels fine. But it won't start up.

    I've tried kicking it many many times and push starting it, but can't get it to go, when push starting the back tire just seizes up when I release the clutch (no matter how slowly).

    I would like to hear general things to check out, big things I might be missing, I know you can't really fix it without looking at it but if there are any common issues with these bikes or general areas I should be checking, please let me know.
