  • Good names for animal welfare organisation?

It will be a organisation that fosters and adopts out cats, dogs, and other small animals. Any suggested names will be considered, but please share only if you do not mind us using it, and if you don't have any future plans of using it. It will be copywrited as our name, so only be kind and share if you do not mind us using it (: If you want to add the county name, please write, "(insert county name here)" or something like that. Also, we mostly want professional sounding names, but any suggestions are welcome! Thank you so much for any and all suggestions! They are most appreciated!

  • What is a good clip-on light for plant growth?

I am in need of a light that will clip onto a fish bowl. I have a large globe shaped bowl that I have turned into a planted tank. I have a tiny piece of driftwood with a Java Fern, and 3 small Anubias Nanas planted in Fluorite. I have added a air stone under the gravel to add some airation. All I need now is a good clip-on light that will sustain my low light plants, and something that is not too bright so my Betta doesn't get freaked out. If it puts off a bit of warmth that would be good too, but if not it is okay because the water temp is 74F. Thank you for your help!

  • Skyrim/Xbox Issues (crashes)?

My Skyrim keeps freezing and I have yet to find out why. It ran well when I first got it, but my boyfriends ran faster on his 360. We both have the 360 slim and got them at the same time. He suggested I buy a used hard drive at gamestop like he did and install my game to see if it would speed it up....well, I tried anyways. I installed it and it froze on the load screen every time until I uninstalled it. I used the hard drive for my saves anyways, and sometime later, my character (whom I had leveled to almost 40 and had beat the game with) no longer worked because my saves suddenly corrupted for no apparent reason. My xbox doesn't overheat, (it's in a well ventilated area and the max time I usually play is 2-3 hrs at a time) I have never pulled out the hard drive with the xbox on, and I've never dropped it, etc. I stopped playing for a while out of frustration (had to delete all of my saves), and started back when I got hearthfire dlc. Later I got dawnguard, still doing ok but I wasn't playing hardly any at all (I don't think I even had time to get to the dawnguard stuff). I installed dragonborn, got out of college for christmas for a while and started back. Got to level 10, vampires came into whiterun, and they put a curse on the blacksmith lady (forgot her name). I kind of liked her, so I reloaded hoping to save her the next go round. When I did, she was back alive but her ash pile remains stayed from the first time she was killed. They remained along with her new ones and did not disappear no matter how long I played. One of them was floating which irked me worse of all and it was right in front of breezehome. I played a while longer and it started freezing every time I went into the cave on the first dawnguard quest. The second I went into combat it froze every time! I came back the next day, it done it again. I done a sneak attack, didn't get too close and it didn't freeze. I thought I was in the clear but it did it again in the next room of the cave.

After all this, I deleted EVERYTHING off my hard drive, done a clear cache, and I formatted it. I re-downloaded all of my dlc, updates, and even the game (yes, it worked this time for some reason) and started over (yet again...). All was fine until level 8 or so. It got to where it would freeze every time I entered whiterun, it froze wandering in the wilderness every 5 minutes, it pretty much started freezing so close together it wouldn't do a damn thing.

To top it all off, I got a random grey-ish blue solid colored screen while walking along a trail near windhelm. That day my loading screen was also freezing after loading dlc, so I had to hit the xbox button in the center of the controller and it would unfreeze it long enough to load my game.

Also, my loading add-ons (dlc) screen would last the entirety of the whole opening song...is this normal?

Is this my hard drive, xbox, or skyrim?

My boyfriend says mine has always seemed more lag-y than his from the start. Should I get a new xbox?

  • Can I get someone for making a threat?

They communicated that they were going to bust out my boyfriend's car window, and continued to say they would mess up the car until it would not run. He is mad because the car is loud, but he does not rev it, he just drives it normally. How can he help that? They communicated this threat through a Facebook message so I have hard evidence. I was actually really polite when I wrote back and explained to him that his car was new, and he does not have the money to replace the muffler right now. He doesn't intend to be loud, but no matter how slow he drives it just is. I told him I was reporting him because he wouldn't stop harassing me, and he said he was reporting my fiance for speeding. I know for a fact he was not speeding at this time, but he did get a speeding ticket a while back. The cops were trying to meet there quota and pulled over several that week. He was only going around 5 over I think and the cop tried to say he was going 15 over (even though the cop clocked him 2 yards before a stop sign and he made a clean stop, he couldn't have been going 45 and made a clean stop that fast). My fiance doesn't want me to report him because of his prior ticket, but he was harassing me on my FB page. I am sick of my hateful neighbors and I would like to get him in trouble so he will be quiet and leave us alone for good.

Would it be ok to wait a day or two unill the sheriffs dept. is open? I don't think it is quiet a 911 situation yet. I will block him, but for now I need his messages for proof.

  • Can I get someone for making a threat?

They threatened to do damage to my personal property. They said they were going to bust out my car window by throwing a baseball through it. The person is over 18, and although I don't think he would do it, I'm not sure, but it's really an annoyance (you would just have to understand how horrible of neighbors I have). I live in the state of NC.

  • Can I separate my female Betta from my male early instead of culling so many?

When they are spawning, could I separate them early or would this disrupt things? I'm not opposed to culling, but I would rater have a smaller amount to begin with. I've looked on several sites and cannot find much on this subject.

I'm going to be feeding the fry banana worms. How long can I use them before switching them over to another type of food? Thanks!

  • Quality Betta breeders?

I don't really want another pet store Betta, so I am looking to purchase one from a reputable breeder with nice stock, and decent price ($15-30). I went on Aquabid, but I was afraid to order because I did not see any shipping cost info. Where can that be located? I would really like some suggestions of some other places though. Thanks!

  • Aquarium pH regulation?

What is the ideal pH range a Betta can withstand and what are the best buffers to keep it stable? I understand regular water changes helps it not to turn acidic but I would like some tips. I have an API pH test kit (liquid with drops, not strips or anything). I would just like to hear what works for you! I had some issues with my first tank setup and I am starting over and I am trying to learn as much as possible so I can do this right! Lol

I bought some API 7.0 pH corrector (not like pH up or down, just a buffer) that is a powder. It seemed to work great but I would like to get some peoples thoughts on this product.

  • What is "Protein Skin" in a fish bowl?

I have a white fuzzy film with light brown patches that appears on my aquarium water surface in my betta bowls. If I do not feed for two or three days, it will still appear. I have well water. My fish are very healthy, active, and bright. The water is just crap I'm guessing. I tried Melafix in case it was bacterial but it didn't help. I was told it was "protein skin" on the surface but Idk. I thought this only applied to marine aquariums?

  • Which bottled water is safest for my Betta?

I have never in my life had any problems out of my well water, but I think the fish tank gods hate me right now...

My water has suddenly developed a problem where it has an overload of minerals. It creates this odd white film in a matter of a day or two that looked like cobwebs one time, like white mold on top and flakes of white the next. My take was diagnosed by a professional aquarist, so I know it is not from overfeeding, fungus etc. I only feed my bettas a few worms or pellets and pick up what they don't eat ... So yea. I know what in doin', don't judge me. Lol

That being said, I have some AmQuel Plus I am still going to add but I do not have access to city water now (bummer) so I need some cheap water to fill my 5 gallon up. Not distilled because I don't want to kill my betta but will the Great Value Spring Water from Walmart work? Is there something someone else uses? I know it would be so much easier to get city water but I cant so DON'T tell me to get city water (I know someone will be dumb enough to not read this and tell me that).

I'd like something suitable for fish (obviously), and something with correct pH. Well....If not I have a pH buffer additive that balances (not pH up or down, just a balancer) I could add (but I really don't wanna')

Thank you for your help! :)

  • Water Quality (Fluval Chi)?

I received a Fluval Chi for my betta on my birthday back in August. I thought it was just wonderful! I had a 30 gallon setup for years with no problem so I thought my new 5 gal. would be a breeze.

I purchased an Amazon Sword, and aquarium grass (of some sort) from PetSmart, along with some red fluorite gravel. I rinsed it as clean as I could get it, put it in with my plants and only a week later I had crystal clear water.

I added my betta to his home and all was well for some time until I bought 6 neon tetras. I got them from a clean, reputable pet shop and I didn't think to isolate them for a while before adding them to my tank (BIG no no, I know).

I added them and a week later I noticed that one was missing his entire nose and upper lip. He couldn't eat, was gasping for air and died shortly later. Two others started missing tail fins, and gasping and they too died shortly after. One had a white spot where his tail fin began on his body. Many of them even had an indention in there spine where it dipped in not far back from their head. My betta was not doing it I don't think because he was pretty peaceful and could not swim as fast was them with the water flow. They acted sickly and clamped their fins too.

Sadly, my beta became lethargic and emaciated, and despite my attempts to save him, he died too from whatever it was (or possibly something else)

One by one the rest died off until I have just one left now. I've removed him from the tank.

I visited PetSmart for water testing and my water was 5.2 and I checked my well water and it is 6.6. I'm not sure why it was that low but they said it could have damaged my neons tails and their stomachs, gills etc...

So I bought some Proper pH 7.0 by API. I think it helped but I just don't know why it got so acidic.

I had an algae problem too (even though I turn out my lights and I don't have it in direct sunlight), so I got frustrated, threw out my plants (which had stem rot), threw out my fluorite, and bombed my tank with apple cider vinegar and some ich/protozoan parasite treatment with malachite green.

I let it run for an hour, I rinsed it a lot, and let it sit in the hot sun.

To make me even more aggravated, I set my chi back up with NO gravel, NO plants, NO ornaments, but just a few rocks that came with the chi, and after two days my tank is starting to cloud! (The only thing I did was turn my temp up to 86 hoping to kill anything in the tank and I left it like that for several hours). I thought it might be algae spores floating around so I bombed it with quiet a bit of Tetra Algae Control. I put about 10 drops in it.

I'm just getting very frustrated and I need some advice. I set up a large breeder on the side that has full circulation with my tank water. I also have a Aquenon 50 watt adjustable heater.

If you need additional information just ask! Any and all feedback is appreciated! Thank you!

  • Betta Breeding Genetics and other stuff?

I am fairly new at breeding bettas so I needed some advice. I have a Copper Red Dragon Plakat male, and a Cellophane (Clearish Yellow) Crowntail female betta. I'm interested in genetics, but I do not know enough to know if this is a good pairing. I figured that Cellophane is probably recessive and will mostly be masked by his color. Also, I needed to ask, if I remove the female before they are done spawning to reduce the number of fry, will the male neglect his nest, or will it mess with anything? The thought of culling when they are older is fine too, but I figured this might be a simpler solution.

I also thought about doing liquid fry food instead of brine shrimp due to the fact I cannot find brine shrimp eggs at my local pet stores. Is this a bad idea? I have also heard you can use boiled egg yolk if you are careful not to overfeed.

Does a strong current hurt fry if they are in a large 30 gallon tank? I bought a expensive sponge filter thinking it would work better. Here it is: http://www.marineland.com/sites/Marineland/Documen...

I think I might take it back, or if it don't hurt it I may slip a sponge over where it blows out really hard...?

Any more tips or advice would be amazing! I'm open to all suggestions! Thank you!

  • Do I qualify for the 'Lemon Law'?

My boyfriend bought a car from a dealer that sells used cars. He traded in his '06 cobalt towards a '08 automatic cobalt with a salvage title. The only thing that was wrong with the car when it was salvaged was a lot of body damage to the front bumper and radiator hose. These things were fixed and he sold us the car saying "If anything messes up in 90 days, we'll fix it for you. Just bring it back in." Two months later, we find out that the battery wire had been loose, causing arcing which lead to the shift solenoid B to blow inside the transmission, causing us to lose first and second gear along with reverse. We called a transmission place and he told us that the mess up had to have been going on for a while before we bought it. We called the dealership. He said we would have to pay full price for the towing bill and for his mechanics to fix it. He told us the car was sold "as is." While I understand this and I understand you take a risk buying a car without a warranty, he told us the car was "perfectly fine, just the radiator hose was messed up but we fixed it." We confronted him face to face later and he said he would pay for half of it which is $300 with a $75 towing charge. I'm not sure if I want to keep the car if it broke that fast, and he admitted that he wouldn't have sold it like that if he "had known that was wrong in the first place." I think he should have fixed it for us since he told us the transmission was good. I don't want to argue with him, I would really just like to give him his car back and get my money back. Since he was untrue to his word, I'm not sure if I could trust him. There may be many other things he didn't tell us about or didn't know. I think this would be fair because he could even fix the transmission and resell it. What do you think and do you think I would qualify for the Lemon Law?

  • Twitching in lower abdomen?

I am a 18 year old female. I am NOT pregnant. I have checked multiple times over the period of a month and my OBGYN has checked too. I am on the Junel Fe birth control pill. Also, I only have one partner and we have been together for 4 years and he was a virgin so I know I don't have any STDs (was still checked by my doctor and all were obviously negative). Some other random bits of info are: I have anxiety (I understand this can cause twitches), my aunt has MS (don't know if it's hereditary or if that does it), and I have never been checked for PCOS (not sure if that would cause it either but while researching I noticed I have many symptoms).

For the past month i have been experiencing (not painful) light twitching sensations in my lower abdomen. It feels like when you get a twitch in your eye. Sometimes it in my uterine area and sometimes higher in my stomach. My uterine area feels kind of full. I have been experiencing some spotting which looks like old blood but I'm not sure.

Don't lecture me on needing to visit a doctor please because I will be doing this as soon as I can get an appointment and I just seen my OBGYN 2 weeks ago (although I feel as if she was no help). She just ran a pregnancy test and said everything was fine, but it's been a month and things aren't fine.

Anyone's thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you need additional info please ask and I'll be happy to give!

  • Acne - Tiny flesh covered bumps?

I am having problems getting rid of these tiny flesh colored bumps all over my face. Thy stay mostly around my mouth and cheeks but they are on my forehead also. The ONLY way I can kill them is to pop them and this is almost impossible due to the fact that they have no opening so I have to lance them with a needle. I hate doing this because it is scaring my face. The stuff that comes out is white and comes out in a string or a tiny core. When they heal, they are gone for a while but they come back in other places within about 2 weeks.

I am currently using Epiduo gel proscribed by my Dermatologist.

I wash my face every morning and every evening with a fragrance free gentle cleanser from Clinique and I use their moisturizer.

I am using a powder foundation from Jane Iredale which is purely mineral with no talc.

I always wash my hands before applying makeup and always use clean brushes.

I change my pillowcases often and I do not use fabric softener on anything.

I try not to touch my face as much as possible.

What am I doing wrong and how in the heck do I get rid of these bumps? And what kind re they? (I'm almost positive there not milia but I'm not sure).
