US Army Veterinary Corps: What will I be getting myself into?
I'm enrolled in college for veterinary medecine, and after realizing how much it would cost me, I began looking for a way to offset those costs. I am paying for college by myself.
I came across the US Army Veterinary Corps and I like the idea of travel, working with the government, and obviously all the benefits. However, I haven't seen much info on it.
Can you tell me what the veterinary corps does and, committment wise, what does it mean if I join? Anyone with experience?
7 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoBirthday present dealing w/ stars?
On a drunken night, my bf pointed out a star that I couldnt see (it was a clear night), so now we have this joke about seeing stars. Doesn't sound like a big deal but it makes us crack up now bc of other things that lead to that statement that night.
Anyway...
He's been away (he's in the army) and he got me a wonderful christmas present but I haven't been able to find anything that I like for him . Recently, I started thinking about doing something with stars. For a brief second, I thought about naming one but I don't make enough money to just throw it out and get a really expensive piece of paper with "my star" name on it.
I was thinking about going to a planetarium, but the circumstances won't allow for that. Any ideas on how I can get creative with stars and incorporate our relationship?
We've been together for almost two and a half years and I was thinking that this present will be to celebrate his homecoming from his tour. So I'm hoping for something romantic.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoGourami has red spots on right fin....progressed over time?
My brown gourami began having red spots on its fin. At first it was one spot and we just dismissed it. Now, it's been a few months later and he has some more spots. He eats fine and swims fine, too.
In the aquarium, we have 2 tiger barbs, another gourami, and 3 bottom feeders. We know that barbs are known as "aggresive" fish but they have been in that aquarium for two years now and we have never observed them fighting and none of our fish have ever displayed signs of being attacked (fins, scales always in place).
We have a filter constantly running and good aeration. We do partial water changes with all the proper chemicals. And that aquarium has never had a problem with sick fish (i.e none of our fish have ever had ick or any other disease).
We've had that gourami for a few years now and it's always been fine. So I'm really at loss to what those red spots are, or even how he's gotten them.

3 AnswersChicago1 decade agoWanting to go to hawaii...cruise or fly?
I want to go to Hawaii next year but I'm not sure if I want to take a cruise there or fly and stay in a hotel. If I go, I want to stay for about a week or two. Which would be the most reasonably priced? A two week cruise? Or plane+hotel? Also, I know some cruises do military discounts, do hotels do the same?
Please answer based on experience.
(I'm not sure how much the hotels are in Hawaii, plus I know I'd have to count in food, and small things like travel fares)

I am going to Canada with a friend in March. We have planned out our expenses for getting there plus hotel, but how much can we expect to pay for food, assuming we eat at inexpensive restuarants and eat maybe once a day...

My SO asked that I send him beef jerky because apparently they dont have it where he is stationed. I bought the jack link's beef jerky and I made sure that it contained no pork and that it was USDA approved. How do I go about mailing that to him? What is the best way to pack it? What specific forms do I have to fill out at the post office?
Please only respond if you have previously shipped to a soldier any where in the world and know exactly what you are doing. Thank you so much in advance for all the answers :)

3 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoBf returning from deployment, ticketmaster?
My bf is returning home for R&R from the military in a few months and I was hoping to take him to a show at a theater in Chicago. Last time I surprised him with The Blue Man Group tickets and I started searching for a new show to take him to when he comes home, but I haven't got a clue as to what show I want to take him to. Was there a show that you would like to recommend? If so, can you please tell me what the show is about and what you liked about it?
Pricing isn't an issue and I am open to any sort of show as long as it isn't opera :) Also, I am looking for something in Chicago, as we live here and don't have the option to travel.
Thank you very much in advance!!!
