50 something technology executive, math geek, science geek, father of two great kids..

  • Fitness and diabetes?

    I exercise at least 6 time a week for about 60 minutes. During that I walk for 30 - 50 minutes, and fill the balance in with stretching and weight lifting. I never lift on consecutive days, and alternate between upper and lower body exercises (roughly about 24 - 30 sets). I eat lots of fruits and veggies, and avoid red meat. My last three A1Cs have been in the 6.2 - 6.5 range. Here is the question, my weight is stable, but I have not lost any. Why? I take 50 units of slow acting insulin, and 400 mg of metformin daily.
