  • How do I make my family and other people cope/accept with me being a Vegetarian?

Well, it all started off when my sister's fiance shot and killed a deer. At the time, I wasn't really thinking deeply about eating meat, I just thought food is food.

But when he killed it, and when my family took the bag of meat and made some dishes out of it, I felt extremely uncomfortable. Then all three of my sisters started teasing me and pressuring me within the lines of "Why aren't you eating it? You eat cow and chicken, why are you making the deer more important than them? Aren't they the same?"

This lead to more arguments later on.

It's just hunting that bothers me. Back then, yes, hunting was for pure survival. But you don't see people out in the wild with limited food resources. You don't see them starve out in the wilderness and in need of food such as the prey animals. UNLESS they really do live out in the wild like Bushmen for that pure sake of survival, I just don't see the point of it.

But mainly, its an emotional thing for me. I really do love all animals, I don't like killing them. I do not like how farming is just like a factory of taking away lives. So, to be not a hypocrite of my own words, I started being a vegetarian.

Now, my family just forces it at this point. They try to urge me to eat meat, my mother thinks its just a "phase" as she teased to my sister's fiance. She always says that we're omnivores, we've been eating meat for thousands of years, deal with it. My sister says at least they're using all the meat and not going to waste, and we are the same as any other animals so why can't we eat meat, and all that. And an active hunter coming into the family, just all of this gets me really angry and sad at the same time.

I feel like they just don't understand, and want to look at the logical view of the situation, not emotionally what I think. For my race, our foods do include a lot of meat. And at school, this girl claimed to be vegetarian, and people in the class just make fun of her, even the teacher. I understand that people do eat them for food, and other uses, but that's not good enough for me. I feel like we should be equally be treated the same as just being a being, that no one is superior. Yes, I do cry over animals getting killed by humans, and I just feel alone.

Above all I just feel like I'm severely looked down upon by my own family because of this. I've told them everything of why I feel this way, but they still bother question, tease, argue, and pressure me. They just don't care what I think morally....

  • Opening .Rar Files: to its original program used?

Ok, so, this goes for every single .rar file I try to download. I screwed up one day by changing the properties of the files, and accidentally changed it to another program to open up with. This is for P.C., not Mac, just so you know. That's the only problem I have, it's restoring the program originally used to open it, and I've tried all of them, still there isn't the original. Right now, I don't know what program it uses to open up, and how to restore it. This is an annoying problem I've had for a VERY long time, and I'm sure there should be an easy way out of it. If there's a way, or you know the original file to open with it, would you mind telling me what it is and how to restore it?

Here's a pic if you don't understand what I mean:

  • Sleeping positions and back pain?

everyone has a certain sleeping position, where as for mine, it's mostly on my front body proportion, with my head either side. I've read that some of neck and back pain could be from doing that after a while, but it's not the case for all people. I do get sharp pin point back/shoulder/neck pains from doing so at times I believe. But, that sleeping position seems the most comfortable for me, (but the pain comes later?) I may sleep on my side/back, but it doesn't help as much. Is there any solution/tips for this?
