3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoWhy are the Austrian and Spanish stockmarkets so strong?
I am wondering why the austrian (atx) stockmarket is so strong...especially considering it is heavily bank weighted and that the banks are involved in central and eastern european emerging markets - which according to a bloomberg report today may be about to crack down.
Further, Spanish market is showing much stronger performance - even though its over-extended property market has already turned over. If one compares this to say ireland (iseq) which also had an overheated property market - has started to go down sharply. Further, some Spanish banks - namely Banco Santander have exposure to UK residential market via its ownership of Abbey National.
Also the strength in the Euro cannot be helping exports at all in both countries.
Im just wondering if im missing something fundamental with these two markets? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
1 AnswerInvesting1 decade agoHow much is an average tree worth in carbon credit terms? ie a money amount per year?
I have been offered some land with a massive forest on it and i'm thinking if i could sell the carbon credits etc. and then my job could be counting my money - a very environmentally friendly activity i think you would agree!
2 AnswersEconomics1 decade agoWhat legal powers can be invoked to get mental health services which the local authority refuse to to pay for?
My brother has been recommended treatment at a hospital outside our local authority (refered to by our local authority). They have a recommended course of action but are sitting on the decision citing bugetary constraints. Are there any ways we can pressure the local authority to ensure appropriate services are provided - as none are currently being provided (they have discharged him from all outpatient services) as they thought he would be granted inpatient status at the new hospital. I am particularly interested in legal process as the situation is critical yet the local authority does nothing - worse actually by cutting off service provision. Not that I am looking to extort compensation or anything - just to ensure a desperate family member gets the treatment they have been recommended. Please help...
