  • Is there such a thing as an extender for my flash drive? I can't connect it to the USB port, it's too short...

My computer is old (2001), it's a laptop, and it's about to die. I want to get my music off of my comp. and on to a flash drive (or four!)...but here's the thing...when I try to plug in the flash drive to the back of my comp where the USB port is, the plastic on the flash drive hits the plastic that surrounds the inputs on the back of my computer before it can actually connect. So I need a flash drive with an extra long silver part (don't know what to call it) that connects in order to get it in my computer. Is there such a thing? I have 2 flash drives already, but if I can find one that will fit in my computer, I'll gladly buy new ones.

    Thanks!

  • Do Police officers have to be certified in breathalyzer and field sobriety testing, or is it just recommended?

Don't know if it makes a difference, but this is in the state of MA. Thanks.

  • How do I clean a cut on my dog?

My dog just got into a fight at the dog park. She's not a fighter. Now she has a big gash on her neck. It looks like a clean cut, not ragged, and no debris inside (you can see in). It also doesn't seem to be bothering her at all, she's not acting like she's in pain. I don't think it needs to be stitched up-it stopped bleeding really quickly, there was barely any blood on her fur, and it seems like it's not in danger of the skin tearing more or anything. I need to clean the cut though-can I use hydrogen peroxide? Is it safe for dogs? Can I put bacitracin on it after it's clean? I've never had a dog get in a fight, I'm not familiar with doggie first aid like that. Thanks.

  • Does my dog have worms?

My 4 year old Dalmatian has been acting sick lately, and I don't know what it is...it started a three days ago...she was coughing a lot and constantly licking the floor. Then, she started throwing up. I came home yesterday and she had eaten part of my hallway rug, which is not like her. Then I noticed that she's been itching her bum alot. She's a rather itchy dog (she chews her paws when they itch and her ears, also), so I don't think anything else of it if it happens every once in a while, but coupled with the throwing up and coughing, I'm wondering if it's something else. Worms, perhaps? If this is the case, do the over the counter de wormers work, or should I take her to the vet? My 7 month old husky was throwing up yesterday, too, but she was eating a lot of grass all day and that was all she threw up. What's going on in my house???

  • What percentage of my paycheck should I put in my 403b?

I am getting $40k annually, and my employer will put 4% of my salary into the 403b (same as a 401k but for a non profit), but only after a year of service. So, what percentage should I put in on my own during this first year? I am in credit card and student loan debt, also, so I'd like to have enough of my check left to pay my bills and those higher interest loans, also. Thanks for any advice!

  • better to fly dogs or have them in a car for 2 days?

My boyfriend and I are moving from New Orleans to Boston. We have a 55 lb. dalmatian and a 30 lb. husky (still growing, will be bigger by the move!). Is it better for us to sedate them and fly them, where they'll be uprooted for about 8 hours (i'd have one of my sisters get them at the airport), or is it better for them to be in the car for the 2 days the drive will take? We want to do this in the best way possible for the dogs, because we know the move will be stressful for them. Thanks!

  • How can I get my puppy to come when I call her?

I have a 4 month old Husky puppy, and a 4 year old Dalmatain. They are both great dogs and well trained for their ages, respectively. The puppy used to come when I called her every time I shook the cookie jar (she loves being outside in our fenced in yard)...now I think the magic of the cookie jar is wearing off. And, whenever I shake the cookie jar to get the puppy in, the dal, who doesn't love it outside and is most likely in the living room, comes running. How can I get my puppy to come when I call her? Anyone have any tricks? Someone told me to get a really long leash and go to a park with trees. Hide behind a tree and let the puppy go off, then call her. When she can't see you, she'll be scared. Then step out from behind the tree and she'll come running to you, and come when you call her. Has anyone tried this? Any othe ideas?
