  • Not enough Amps to Ubiquiti Backhaul?

This is a very specialized question but I hope someone here can help. I'm the IT Administrator for a local ISP. My expertise is in bits and bytes, not volts and amps. I am trying to connect a Ubiquiti backhaul to a solar site that we have. I've never done this so I am experimenting a little. The power leads are switched on Ubiquiti (+4,5,-7,8) as opposed to all other wireless equiptment (-4,5,+7,8.) I made a cable that will switch these leads. The normal output for a Ubiquiti POE injector is 15V, .8amps, however, the equipment is rated for 24V. I now have it plugged into a POE injector that outputs 24V, .4amps. The unit lights up for a second, but the lights slowly fade. Am I not getting enough amperage to the unit? What's going wrong here?

  • New motherboard and CPU not working.?

I just updated to a new motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... and CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... I was using everything else from my old system (RAM, HDs, Vid Card, PSU) When I powered it up I can get to the BIOS fine and it appears everything is working fine, but when I try to boot up windows 7, it gets halfway through loading the logo, blue screens, then restarts. The blue screen happens too fast for me to see the error number. I figured that installation of windows just wasn't going to like the processor, so I tried to reinstall windows via CD. Half way through loading the files it fails and says "An unexpected I/O error has occurred." Figured maybe the CD was bad so I loaded the files on a USB drive and booted from there, same thing. I'm at a loss for what could be going on. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Carpal Tunnel?

I'm 29 years old and have been a geek ally my life. I do a LOT of typing/gaming every day. I have recently started to have constant pain in my left wrist (and sometimes my right.) I'm sure this is the start of Carpal Tunnel. I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to stop/slow the progression of this condition.

  • The Sims 2 DirectX problem?

I just got a new computer and was installing some of my old games on it out of boredom. I installed the sims 2 and when I try to start it, get this error:

Failed to enumerate any DirextX 9 compatible graphics adapters in this system!

Please make sure you have a DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest manufacturer priovided driver.

    The application will now terminate...

I have a GeForce GTS 450 graphics card and the drivers are up-to-date. I checked and it's actually running DirectX 11. Don't anyone dare ask or say that my system can't run the sims 2. I can run Crysis 2 flawlessly so yes, my computer is beefy enough to handle the sims 2. What can I do to fix this problem?

  • Why won't my motherboard run my quad core?

    Motherboard: Biostar A770E3

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

I just got all my parts for my new computer today and after assembling it, windows 7 would freeze on installation. After lots of research I found that if you disable 3 cores, you can get windows to install. So I did so. Now, I can't enable the other 3 cores without it freezing at startup. Just for a little clarification, I'm enabling/disabling cores from the bios menu. I tried updating to the latest bios (which I actually already had pre-loaded on the board.) I plan on calling Biostar tomorrow, but figured I'd try to get some answers on here in the mean time. I can run on one core for now, but it sure would be nice to use all $150 worth of the processor i just bought.

  • How can i auto-fade christmas lights?

I've been contracted by a haunted house to figure out a way to auto-fade christmas lights in and out continuously and hopefully in sync. I've worked on electronic projects before (i.e. attatching christmas lights to a battery pack for a dress.) so i KIND OF know what i'm doing. If anyone could point me in the direction of a how to, I'm pretty sure I could figure it out from there.

  • What brand of mandolin should I buy?

I've been playing the mandolin casually for about 5 years now. I just recently joined a band and my old A style isn't cutting it anymore. I bought it when I first started for $100 so it's not great quality. I want an F style for sure and nothing too pricey. I would say $500 would be my limit but anything cheaper would be great.

  • What's wrong with my internet?

I can connect to MSN messenger and I can browse websites, but none of my VOIP apps or games will connect. I have a cable modem and a switch, Power-cycled all of them and still nothing. Released/Renewed my IP, still nothing. It's possible that this has something to do with me downloading some illegal content and our ISP threatening to turn off our internet but if that's it, why can I still browse websites and connect to MSN?

  • Where is the fuel filter on a '94 chevy blazer?

    Second question:

Every once in a while my car stalls out and backfires continually until I restart it. This only happens on interstates. City driving is still fine. My guess is it's the fuel filter, hence the first question but if anyone thinks any different please note it.

  • What is wrong with my anus?

This is not a joke this is real. Everytime I deficate, it hurts, sometimes more, sometimes less. When I wipe, I get streaks of blood on the paper. My friend had hemroids and his blood was more prominent, like in his stool. Is this a different type of hemroid, or something completely different?
