  • Girls: Do you pursue guys when you drink?

If you are the type that normally leaves the pursuit up to the guy (when sober), do you ever pursue guys when you drink who you would normally expect to pursue you.

  • I have to pay a fee(ine) for a case that I won!?!?!?!?

Posted twice but assumed this was better because the definition of Nollo Prosequi isnt well known. Basically this term is applied to cases where the prosecutor believes she has very little or no chance of winning a case.

My friend brought home a slip he was handed having attended what was to be an arraignment for driving on a supsended registration. The records show that he was not informed of the suspension which is a clear requirement to prosecute him. Due to this fact, the prosecutor filed a Nolle Prosequi on the case. What he was handed when he attended was a yellow slip from a carbon copy with two signatures of court officials that declare him guilty. The slip further says that he needs to pay a $50 fine to get a Nolle Prosequi or else spend 5 days in jail. His signature is nowhere on this slip nor was he ever even shown the white copy.

So what do all the lawyers and legal experts think about this? I know how much you all hate to go against the court system but I dont think even you stalwarts can ignore such an egregious affront.

  • Would the use of coercion to prevent a jury trial be considered a legally valid practice?

Not looking for a detailed answer based on a particular scenario, just wondering in general if a court could use coercion to prevent a jury trial? Examples would be threatening jail vs no jail, increased fines, etc.

Not talking about plea bargains, only bench trial vs jury trial.

  • Do gay men find the same guys attractive as women?

In your experience, do gay men find the same guys attractive that women do?

  • Would trial for these two offenses be considered double jeopardy?

I was involved in an accident were I lost control of my car and struck another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle told the police I was trying to kill him so they arrested myself and him for aggressive driving (I realize this makes absolutely no sense).

After requesting a jury trial because I do not trust small town judges in Georgia (long story speeding ticket related), the prosecutor added on reckless driving among some other small charges.

I realize the extra charges (multiple of which have absolutely nothing to do with the story given to the officer) were a way of trying to scare me into pleading guilty, but isnt a reckless driving charge a more generalized version of the aggressive driving charge, considering I was obeying all traffic laws in so far as actually happened and to the knowledge of both the prosecutor and the police officers?

  • Why do we (Americans) allow our justice to work the way it does?

I can read all day about the laws and understand them completely, go into court, present an argument and because I did not use the right terminology be completely ignored by the judge. Why is the world of attorneys so highly protected? Why are the courts still using asinine and archaeic systems such as discovery in a trial case? Why are we allowing traffic judges to make money for every guilty verdict that they hand out?

Where is the amendent after "right to a fair trial by a jury of his peers" is the amendent: as long as you know the jargon?

  • Sex is illegal in Georgia?

According to 16-6-18 in the OCGA (Georgia State Code):

An unmarried person commits the offense of fornication when he voluntarily has sexual intercourse with another person and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as for a misdemeanor.

Are any shopping cart PHP programs out there that dont actually determine the layout and instead just handle variable collection/parsing for handling by the merchant account provider?

  • GOod chameleon terrarium?

Chameleons are a pain. But I want to get another one and I am looking for a good terrarium for them. I just moved to Tampa, FL so I should be able to keep it outside for 10 months out of the year but I need something that is good for keeping humidity AND air-flow.

  • Has anybody done any advertising for flooring companies? What advertising medium was effective?

I work with HUD and VA doing renovations but I would liek to do private flooring work. I have excellent distributor contacts, a starter capital base, and experienced installers but I am bad at marketing. I was considering mail flyers. Unfortunately I think that TV and radio will take a bit too long on the investment return to be an option right now so any other ideas or suggestions.
