What does this pathology report mean in layman's terms?
I would ask the doctor to explain it but he speaks to me like I am a child and acts like I don't need to understand this because he does and that's all that matters. I am just supposed to trust what medicine he says to take without understanding what is actually happening in my body.

1 AnswerOther - Diseases6 years agoMiscarriag/Ectopic/or New pregnancy?
On Nov 28 I began spotting lightly (pinkish). Then, on the 29th I got what I thought was a normal period. It was on time and everything. My periods usually only last 4 days, maximum 6. When the bleeding had not stopped by day 13 I went to the Dr. to find out what was going on and was promptly sent to the ER. While in the ER I was given a urine pregnancy test that came back positive. The blood test showed my HcG level to be about 100. (This was around 6pm) The ultrasound however showed an empty uterus so the Dr told me I was having a miscarriage. On day 16 I started having horrible upper abdominal cramps which I believed to be unrelated and went back to the ER. I went to a different one this time. When they gave me a follow up blood test it showed my HcG level had risen to 180 (this was around 11am), but the ultrasound still showed nothing. They checked my fallopian tubes and ovaries as well and did not find anything. After many, many hours in the ER I was transported to another facility to see an OBGYN. The conclusion was that I either had miscarried and they didn't know why my levels rose, was having an ectopic pregnancy that they could not find yet, or I am just in the early stages of pregnancy and it is too early to detect anything through the ultrasound. They said my levels had not quite doubled so it was hard to say if I am in fact still pregnant at this time. They said the stomach pain was gastritis due to the pregnancy, whether I still am or not. On day 13 I was only spotting lightly (brown) when my urine and blood tests came back positive. On day 16 I had stopped bleeding and my HcG level had gone up. I am going for more follow up blood work tomorrow, but it is bothering me that they could not explain anything to me. I am extremely stressed out right now and it will take a while to get the results of my blood work back to get any answers. I had no cramping except the first day or so of what I thought was my period, and it was NOT extreme. I miscarried this past January and the bleeding only lasted 7 days, but the pain was excruciating and I was put on bed rest. This was nothing like that. My HcG also returned to zero fairly quickly the last time too. I still FEEL pregnant, but have read that I might for a while after a miscarriage. Is it possible I really could still be pregnant, or is the rise too low to tell? Is it normal at all for HcG levels to rise at the end of and after the bleeding has stopped after a miscarriage? And, if it is ectopic, wouldn't they have found something? I feel like they don't REALLY believe it is that, or they would not have discharged me.
3 AnswersPregnancy8 years agoWhat is an appropriate hourly pay rate for a private tutor?
I am looking to earn some extra money as a tutor. I am state certified to teach K-5 and work as a classroom aide right now. What would be appropriate to ask for with regard to pay rate? I have heard anywhere between $20 and $60 per hour, but $60 seems extremely high to me. I don't know anything about what other people ask for, though. I live in Northern NJ by the way. So I'm looking for the NJ average.
1 AnswerTeaching9 years agohow to fill out my W4 for two jobs?
I just started a new p/t job a few weeks ago in which I claimed 1 in the H box on my W-4. I am single, can not be claimed by anyone as a dependent, and at the time only had 1 job. Tomorrow I am starting a 2nd p/t job and I'm not sure how to fill out the w-4. Do I need to also change my w-4 from the first job? I've always been so lost at filling those things out.
1 AnswerGovernment & Non-Profit9 years agoMilitary Neck/Spine Issues?
About a year ago I went to a chiropractor for neck and back pain. I had been previously diagnosed with fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, bulging discs in the lumbar spine, spinal arthritis, and spinal stenosis. Needless to say, I was and still am in a lot of pain. Anyway, I was told by the chiropractor I have what is called military neck. He said he could fix it, but he didn't. In fact, the whole experience has made me weary of chiropractors in general. Recently (in March) I got another x-ray done by a rheumatologist of my thoracic and lumbar spine. It turns out, it's my entire back that is pin straight. I have absolutely no curve in my spine at all!! Has anyone else had this? What causes it to happen? What are the effects and symptoms of this condition? Are there additional complications that go along with it? Is there a way to fix it other than going to a chiropractor? I'd really rather not go to another one. I've seen 2 in my life and neither did anything good for me. I've also done physical therapy and it seems to provide absolutely no long term pain relief. A few exercises make me feel good for about 5 minutes. On top of that, the condition has not gotten any better. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I know I asked a lot of questions, but I really am trying to figure out what I need to do and why this happened in the first place.
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management9 years agoJoint and muscle pain/stiffness?
For the past few weeks I have been having issues with my joints and the muscles around my joints. In the mornings when I wake up I am so stiff and it is also extremely painful to move. I literally cannot move my joints without forcing them with my hands---that is if my hands/arms are working. It almost feels like I am paralyzed, except that I feel pain. I have even had to have my boyfriend move/bend me until the pain subsides. My back, neck, elbows, wrists, fingers, knees, ankles and toes are all affected. It does not stop with waking up though. If I am in any position for longer than 20 minutes I get really stiff, this includes sitting, laying down, and standing. I am only 28 years old and I do have known joint related issues. I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, arthritis of the spine, and bulging discs. I also have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but i have been told that is basically a diagnosis for unexplained pain. I have been living with these conditions for years but I have never had the stiffness/pain issues before. I am active and do stretches regularly. I do not have an excessive workout routine so the pain is not from sore muscles from a workout. Has anyone ever had this problem? What can I do about it? Or does anyone have a suggestion of what type of doctor to talk to (rheumatologist, orthopedist, etc)

12 AnswersBaby Names9 years agovery short period..2 months in a row?
i posted this before, but had to re-post because someone started spamming on my last one and so i deleted it.
The last 2 months i have had extremely abnormal, or irregular, periods. my periods have not always been the MOST regular, but this was even more strange. I usually get my period anywhere between 28 and 32 days in a cycle. These periods last a MINIMUM of 5 days, usually last 6, and can sometimes last 8. I have been tracking my period for over a year now so i know the patterns. With that being said, in August my period came on time (30 day cycle) but only lasted 2 days. The first day heavy, the next day not so much, and then it was over. This month I was "5 days late" (4 days past the 32 day cycle, but according to my calculator my average is 31 days so that's why i say 5) and again it lasted for 2 days. Both of these days were heavy, the third day i had some spotting upon urination but nothing more. I am not stressed, in fact I am anything but. i'm not sick, have not changed my eating habits and am not taking any new medications. so why is this going on? i don't think i am pregnant since I had a heavy, albeit short, period. i don't really have pregnancy symptoms either. i am fatigued and sleeping a bit more and i have been noticing frequent trips to the bathroom, but there are other reasons that could be happening. no swollen/tender breasts, no nausea. My boyfriend and i did however engage in unprotected sex during my ovulation days in both July and August. So i just want to know what other explanations there could be. I am 27 years old and this has never happened before unless I was on birth control, which I haven't been for almost 2 years. My period has never been less than 5 days otherwise.
2 AnswersPregnancy10 years ago4 days late, nausea, dizzy, but cramping...?
my boyfriend and i use the withdrawal method and i track my cycle online. we are not ttc and know it is the least effective birth control method, but we accept that pregnancy is a possibility with this method and are ok with it.
i have been tracking my cycles and i have not been a day off since i started 8 months ago. my bf and i didn't have sex during my supposed ovulation days, nor the days around it. i try to be careful about that at least. but i was supposed to get my period 4 days ago and haven't yet. i didn't and haven't experienced any of my normal pms symptoms, except i have been cramping the last few days. this cramping is different though. it is usually extreme and painful, as i get heavy periods, but this is mild and it comes and goes. most of the time it is not even present.
plus tonight i was cooking dinner and i got really dizzy and had to sit down and drink something, this was before i even got the stove going, so it wasn't hot at all. about an hour after dinner the nausea started and i have been feeling this way ever since. it has been a few hours, i took 2 pepto chewables and they did absolutely nothing. could i be pregnant despite not doing anything on the days i was supposedly ovulating?
4 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoWhy is my turtle laying eggs like this?
my painted turtle keeps laying eggs. she doesn't lay a lot at all. 2 or 3 days ago she laid 2 eggs. one on her basking rock, and one in the water. this morning i found another egg in the water. i have read that if it is in the water it will not survive. i am not sure if these eggs are even fertile to begin with. we have only had her for 2 months and she was with male turtles prior to that. so i have a few questions,
why does my turtle keep laying eggs, and so few?
should i make the land part of the tank bigger so that she stops laying them in the water?
how do i know if these eggs are fertile?
5 AnswersReptiles10 years agoVicodin tolerance or more pain?
I was wondering how quickly you can build up a tolerance to vicodin. My dr. prescribed me 7.5mg about 2 weeks ago. I have not been taking them everyday, but almost (1 a day at night). I have severe back and joint pain that keeps me awake at night. I'm taking fibromyalgia medicine as well, hoping that it will kick in 2 weeks from now and the pain will be less. Anyway, I don't get any sort of loopy feeling from the vicodin, just a nice pain-free relaxed night. So when I ask this, its not because the loopy feeling went away or anything since i never had it. I took one 2 nights ago and it did the trick, just like every other night. Tonight, i took a pill and I feel like I need another one because it's not working. I'm trying to be very careful because i don't want to get addicted and also I only have so many to get me through until my other medicine starts working. I'm probably going to take another half. It's been 2 hours, I'm going to wait another one. Have I built up a tolerance this quickly or might i be having more pain than usual?

Food suggestions can actually be from any Tim Burton movie though, not just the ones mentioned.
4 AnswersEntertaining1 decade agopsychic dreams--help
For several years I have been having dreams that I can see the future. It's not always perfectly clear. Sometimes the dreams are very cryptic and I don't make sense of them until after things reveal themselves in my waking world. In all the years I have had dreams, only 2 have been foretelling good things. Most of the time, it tells me when something bad is going to happen to me or someone I know. I don't know if these dreams are to just tell me the future and that there is nothing I can do to change it, or if they are warning me so that I can do something about it. Most of the time it seems the things I predict just happen and I don't get to do anything about it. I don't know why I get these dreams and I am beginning to look at them as a curse rather than a gift. They seem to hurt me more than they help me. There are dreams that are very clear cut and to the point. I usually have no problem differentiating my psychic dreams from regular dreams. Usually my psychic ones wake me up. I wake up gasping for air and holding my stomach. I am just searching for any possible reasons why I have been given something like this. And what I am supposed to do with it. I just can't seem to find reason in knowing hurtful things. Sometimes I don't even think I'd know about them if it weren't for the dreams because I would have no other reason to look for it. And sometimes, I do everything I can to make the dreams not come true, and it seems like there are times that all my efforts may actually make things happen faster instead of stopping them. If anyone can help me it would be so appreciated. They are really starting to take a toll on me.

2 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoShould I be concerned about this wasp sting?
I was stung almost 2 weeks ago on my leg, right above my knee. I know I am allergic to bees, and somewhat allergic to wasps. The area swelled, and I iced it immediately. I subsequently had trouble breathing and my heart rate sped up. I took a benadryl and I was ok. So, after all this time I figured the sting itself would be gone. There is still a bump on my leg that is very itchy. The bump goes deep down into my leg (it is bigger under the skin than what shows on the surface). And to the touch it is very tender. It had scabbed over but the scab seems to get bigger and bigger somehow. Now, instead of it being a small dot where the stinger was, it is a very visable circle about 8x the size of the original sting. What should I do? Is this normal at all?
