Just purchased a 3.3hp Merc (from 2003, was barely ever used, kept as a backup) for $250. I was wondering what everyone else does to prevent their motors from being destroyed be ethanol? I have heard everything from use 87 octane to use 91 octane. Not sure if I want to go the route of ethanol treatment like Sta-Bil. I just am looking for a few opinions.

I am in NJ, we have no ethanol free gas stations according to Pure-gas.org.

In the manual it says not to use ethanol included fuel and it you have to then use 10% or less ethanol, or 5% or less methanol.

This is a small motor where the fuel goes right from the built in gas tank to the carb so I have no idea how I would be putting in a fuel-water filter but if anyone has done it I would love to know how.

Since summer vacation is going to be coming in the next few weeks, I am going to be buying an Intex Seahawk 4 inflatable boat for me and one of my friends to use for fishing. We fish on the Passic River in Northern, NJ and I was wondering what type of trolling motor setup I should go for. I am definitely looking towards the Minn Kota Endura C2 30lbs Thrust motor (30lb thrust, 12 volt) and was wondering what type of battery setup others are running.

Since it is a river there will be some current we will be against most of the time but it isn't insane, and we would want to cover a lot of ground with the motor. I am not exactly sure what type of marine deep cell I want to buy yet, but the bigger decision is whether to get one deep cell or get two of them and run them in parallel (running them in series would be useless, the motor is 12v)...

Anyone have any experience with 30lb thrust motors and how much battery life I can expect out of a single battery with continuous use on a medium speed, and how much will I get out of two of them. (Currently looking at this battery http://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-27DC-6-Marine-... ....According to the stats 115aH @ 1amp per battery, so 2 batteries in parallel = something like 12V @ 230aH?

Any additional info on good/bad batteries is greatly appreciated!

I am right now at the moment a sophomore in high school with a 4.0 GPA so far this year and a 4.1 last year. I started using computers when I was three and built my first at 13. My first language was XHTML (easiest in the world lol) and then I moved on to Visual Basic this year through school and Python in my free time. I was using Visual basic in school and after being spoiled with the autocomplete I know find using Eclipse to write Android apps impossible so I basically put it off to the side for another day. I have also dipped my toes in Visual C# since its so close to VB but the annoying part is the stupid extra syntax lol...(Also done scripting in CMD and Ubuntu terminal but not really programming)

Now onto the question: What languages do you believe a college freshman who plans to major in computer science should know before going to college? What languages do you believe are the foundation that every programmer should know before they can even be considered a programmer.

So doing some first car searching I came across the RX-8. I love the look with the door styles (kinda looks like suicides to me) and also the rotary engine is a big attraction as well as a turn off. I am against the rotary because of the MPG being 18 n 19, and also since that I have heard that maintenance (meaning tune ups and etc.) are very expensive and finding a mechanic to work on it is very hard. I am extremely attracted to the rotary because of super smooth ride that comes with a 10,000RPM redline and also with that the tolerance and recomendation of bringing it over 6K RPM atleast once every time you drive it :D ....Also the 1.3 liter pushing 238hp blows me away. Anyways my biggest concern is if I can have some rumors clarified or busted and your personal opinions on the car:

-You have to get the engine taken apart and resealed every 60,000 miles. Ever heard of this?

-You can flood the engine by turning it off right after you turn it on so you must first rev the engine and warm it up to burn the excess. I think this might actually be fun but confirm or deny :p

-Finding mechanics is impossible. Could just take it to a dealership? I also prefer DIY but never worked on a rotary.

Other then those do you guys have any comments on the MPG?

Okay so the other day my mom lost her keys for her CRV and had to get a new one made for $150. She found the lost key and it will open the doors but when you put it in the ignition the car will attempt to start but it wont turn over but the newly made key works fine. As far as I know keys have chips in them and you can open the door with a correctly cut key with the wrong chip but you cant start the car with it. Does anyone know if it is possible or likely that the lock master reprogrammed the cars chip to comply with the new key so this is why the old one isn't working? Thank You

I am drawing a game plan for all the rules but what I know so far is definite is here. It will all be teams of 3 btw. Okay so me and one of my closest friends are too fishing finatics and know everything there is to know about fishing BUT were 15. I have the equipment and he can borrow mine but we have no way off getting from the town of Little Falls, NJ down to the ocean where we can fish from the surf. We don't need licences or registration for one year because it starts at 16. Our parents can't take us nearly enough as we want to. The first person to figure out how we can get down there maybe once a weekend for not a stupidly high amount of money wins. We would like to fish either in Perth Amboy, South Amboy, Keyport, or Atlantic Highlands.

So we have a Dell Laptop its an Inspiron 15M. I left it turned off in one room on the floor. I came back hours later and turned it on to a completely destroyed screen. Most of it is white while the other part you can still see the normal stuff you would as if it were working. We took it to Best Buy but they said they dont cover it (we had bought the laptop not even 2 weeks ago.) On the screen there seems to be a crack but you can't feel any cracks at all. I thought it was a videochip issue but when i pulled the battery out the problem remained. Any help?

I am buying a 14 foot and 4 inch surf rod with a relatively small real for surf fishing. I plan to run it with braided line but I am not sure if I should use 50 pound test or 20 pound test. Both will fit fine on the reel its more of me afraid of loosing a nice catch because I am on the surf. I fish out into the Atlantic ocean from the Jersey Shore and bluefish and stripers will be my primary target. The problem is I know sharks are always hanging around waiting to steal an easy meal. I will always be running a wire leader because of the large bluefish population. So I was wondering your opinions on either the 20 pound test or the 50 pound test for surf fishing.

Background: I am 15 years old and have been fishing since I was 10. Ive been out on the ocean plenty of times on boats and have landed many many many bluefish. I know my stuff but am just asking for a second opinion.

If you could also recommend your favorite braided line. I am thinking power pro because I have run it before on freshwater rods. I have had plenty of trouble with the ridiculous tangling braid comes with but I think its my only option for surf fishing.

Ok so I have a Dell Inspiron 640m and I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick on another laptop hard drive I had onto this laptop. Now it cant connect to the internet wirelessly with wifi. Under wireless connections it says "device not ready (firmware missing)".....Does anybody have a fix? And btw i know the wifi card works because it works with Windows XP.

Ok i use this software and i did something to the view and I can't get it back to how it was before and I cant edit how i used to. Like I cant find the add keyframe thing and other stuff. Is there a way to like set it to default so it looks like the first day I installed it?

I want to exchange my Intel P4 1.5 GigaHertz for a AMD Sempron 2.7 GigaHertz. Right now I am running Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick) but will be installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I want to make the switch basically because I want 64-bit power and RAM usage. Anyways only 13 and need a couple points straightened out.

1. Is it worth it? Should I make the switch?

2. How much RAM should you suggest I buy? I game a little bit but mostly a little bit of video editing and web-surfing and movie watching (DVDs and YouTube)...And also keep in mind RAM will be coming a good deal of time after I buy the procesor because my desktop is very old and the motherboard only has 2 RAM slots which are ancient and very rare. I am very lucky to have 1 gig ram right now.

3. Do I have to apply thermal paste when installing the new CPU because I dont believe I have any. And will this by any chance come with a little bit that I can apply.

4. Does this come with a heat-sink and case fan?

5. If you have any suggestions of CPUs like this one which would be an upgrade but not breaking the bank for me.

Ok I have a sony vaio desktop with an 80 gig hardrive and 1 GB ram with an Intel P4 procesor. Anyways the Windows are formatted and it only has the desktops BIOS. I have my ubuntu linux on a usb stick but when i tell it to boot from the stick, it just goes to a black screen and nothing happens. BTW i know the stick is working cuz i just used it earlier today.

Ok i Have a laptop with Norton intrnet security. I want to download a torrent for MW1 or MW2 for PC. I couldnt find one on pirate bay. do you think my computer could avoid viruses with the Norton? Or can you provide me with a link for an online download that is not a virus.

Ok some recently I downloaded an addon to facebook. My cousin was chatting me and she wrote something i think it was lol and this link came up asking me to download the addon so it would look all big and colorful. I did and it did that to the chat and peoples walls and stuff. But now when I chat and i press enter it leavs the chat window so i have to click it again to continue you typing. so i cant be like

I used to play this game alot, but it had been on te shelf for the hile so i sold it. I just today purchased it again. The internet is on cocaine. I have 100 MBPS wired connection but everytime I press find game or whatever it says downloading game settings, and says it, and says it, and it doesnt move!! The little dots move a little bit and the screen freezees periodicly. Please help!

Okay Windows 7 ultimate, 32 bit, Dell Inspiron 1300 with an OLD graphics card. I have been trying to find a way to make it work with two external monitors that will display different things, like one with an internet browser one with Microsoft Word. I want to plug this device into my laptop and then onto an external monitor. Will this work?
