  • Too much skin left after circumcision?

We had our son circumsized when he was 1 day old. There were no problems and it healed well. He is now 6 weeks old and in the past few weeks, we have noticed that there is a lot of extra skin left. It really almost looks like he was never even circumsized at all. The pediatrician has told us just to pull the skin back and vaseline it during his diaper changes and that he will "grow into it" but that just doesn't seem right. If he needs to have a revision, we want to have it done sooner rather than later. Has anyone else had to deal with this issue?

  • What can I write off as a business expense?

My husband worked as a 1099 employee for a few months and the little bit of income he received from it are killing us on our taxes. Apparently the government considers him a business owner even though he does not have a business and worked at one company doing one job and was hired permanently after the first few months. Anyway I'm wondering if there are any deductions we can possibly take to lower the tax burden? He didn't work out of our house, so we can't deduct that but I'm wondering about mileage. Not sure what that would amount to.

  • Why is Clomid not working?!?

I have PCOS and my RE put me on provera to bring on AF, then Clomid 50 mg for cycle days 3-7. Had an U/S and bloodwork this am which showed that none of my follicles are even close to being large enough. If they were, the RE was to advise me to give myself the Ovidrel shot to trigger ovulation....now it gets to sit in the fridge until maybe next month. Anyone been in this situation? Did your RE up your Clomid dose for the next round? I'm thinking I may need at least 100 mg to have any chance of this working. Depressed.....

  • Looking for Clomid success stories....?

I was diagnosed w/PCOS in July and have been on a horrible roller coaster ride ever since. I recently met with my doctor and got all the test results back for DH and I. A little bit of bad news on my end w/my HSG test, one tube is swollen and may not work correctly- but other than that I am good. DH is beyond perfect- thank goodness one of us is....lol. So now my doctor has me on provera to bring on a period, then I will start Clomid on cycle days 3-7. On day 11, I have to get an ultrasound to determine if I can give myself the Ovidrel shot. I am looking for some encouragement and would love to hear from anyone who has PCOS and has been through or is going through a similar regimen. Baby dust to all!

  • Where to stay in London?

I am trying to plan a vacation for my husband and I for our 5th anniversary in April. I would like to stay somewhere with easy access to the tube so we wouldn't have to rely on taxi's. It doesn't have to be fancy, just clean! I appreciate any tips!

  • Doc ordered a hysterosalpingogram!?!?

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and my ob/gyn referred me to a reproductive endocrinologist. I saw her today and she has ordered a ton of bloodwork for both my husband and I, as well as a hysterosalpingogram. I have heard terrible things about this test and I am very nervous about it.....can anyone tell me honestly how bad this test is???

  • Just diagnosed w/PCOS...can I get pregnant?

DH and I have been TTC for 7 months now with no luck. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last month and my doctor and I were convinced that was the reason that I had not been ovulating. (I had been using OPK & never getting a + result). Last night, I found out that I also have PCOS and was absolutely devastated. I know that I will need to go on fertility meds and am waiting to hear from my doc today on "the next step". Just wondering if there are any success stories out there....

  • What is the best body detoxification program?

I've had some health problems over the past few years that have caused me to become too tired to exercise and lax with my eating. After packing on 13 extra pounds, I am ready to get my life back on track and want to jumpstart the change with a body detox program. I would prefer to do a detox that you do on your own (i.e. not some pills you buy at GNC) but am finding a lot of conflicting info out there. I'd love to hear some of the natural detox programs you guys have found successful. I also have a Vita-Mix machine so I can blend up a lot of different concoctions! =)

  • Hypothyroidism and pregnancy?

My doctors have FINALLY figured out that I have hypothyroidism after years of testing and incorrect diagnosis. DH and I have been TTC for 6 months w/no luck and the more I'm reading, I'm guessing my hypothyroidism has been the reason. I just picked up my prescription for levothyroxine and can't wait to take my first dose tomorrow morning! I'm wondering if anyone out there has conceived after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism and if you had any problems with your pregnancy? TIA!

  • Is a "baby fund" a good idea?

DH and I are TTC our first child and I was thinking that we should start a "baby fund". I was curious how many of you out there have a baby fund or are thinking about starting one and how much you plan on putting into it. I will have 6 or 8 weeks paid maternity leave depending on how I deliver and my company will pay 100% of the hospital expenses for delivery. In addition to the 6 or 8 weeks, I plan on taking at least another 8 weeks under FMLA which will be unpaid. Our child will be the first grandchild on both sides, as well as the first great grandchild for DH's grandparents (mine are all deceased) and I know our families will buy most of the bigger items we will need for the baby. As I mentioned earlier, I work for a baby clothes company so I have stockpiled a lot of neutral baby clothing, burp clothes, bibs, etc. although I know you can never have enough. Just wondering how much you guys think we should put away and what you have put away or are planning to put away. Baby dust to everyone!

  • Do you think I'm pregnant?

So DH and I have been TTC for 6 months now and I'm hoping that maybe this is our month... For the past few days I have been having a lot of cramping (I never get period cramps) and my stomach has just been "off". I've been feeling nauseous quite a bit, especially in the AM. Even chewing a piece of gum yesterday made me feel sick and I had to jump up and spit it out. I craved and ate a hamburger for three days in a row (I was a vegetarian, now eat a little meat). I tested this AM and it came out negative, but I'm not due for my period until about the 28th-29th so I'm hoping I just tested too early. What do you guys think????

  • How much to give as a bridal shower gift?

So my MIL calls last week and asks if I'm going to a family bridal shower....it's my husband's cousins wife-to-be. I called her back and let her know that I hadn't been invited (which was fine, I've met the girl once for about 2 minutes). She insisted that I was and that she wasn't sure why I hadn't gotten my invitation. Now all of a sudden my invitation shows up..... So anyway I am not planning on going, but now have to send some type of gift. I'm thinking of just sending a gift card to make life easy, but I don't know how much to give. My husband is not close to his cousin and seeing as how I wasn't even really invited, I don't feel I should have to spend a lot. What do you guys suggest?

  • Chronic fatigue or Fibromyalgia?

After a few years of inexplicable exhaustion, my doctor diagnosed me with chronic fatigue. They tried a few drugs, but nothing has worked and I still feel awful. The more research I do, the more I think I actually have Fibromyalgia. Here are my symptoms, I'd love to know what you guys think: can't fall asleep or stay asleep (sleep an average of 3 hrs per night), constant body aches, headaches, brain fog, inability to focus and concentrate and remember things (i am only 27), pure exhaustion all the time and sensitivity to loud noises and bright lights. Please let me know if any of you have experienced this, thanks!

  • Disappointment in seeing a BFN every month!?!?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 5 months now and every month, I get a BFN. It seems like everyday a friend or friend of a friend or someone at work announces they are pregnant and instead of being happy for them, I just feel angry. The worst part is that a lof of these people don't deserve to be pregnant. No stable relationships, no stable home or income, and not willing to stop drinking or smoking. I have completely quit drinking and quit smoking after I graduated from college. I take prenatals, I eat a healthy diet and I have a closet full of baby clothes and accessories in the room we have labeled "the future baby's room". I just wanted to share my frustration with others, I know there must be a lot of us out there.

  • How much income tax should we pay?

I make about 38k and my husband makes about 35k, we will be filing married filing jointly at the end of the year. He was "self employed" for awhile and wasn't having any taxes deducted, so now I'm trying to figure out how much extra we need to kick in to catch up and avoid having to pay at the end of the year!

  • Honda CR-V vs. Ford Escape, which one to buy?

My husband and I are looking into buying an SUV for two reasons...the first is because we live in Connecticut and need something with four wheel drive or AWD and second is because we are trying to start a family and want something safe and reliable to tote our future children around in. Which of these SUV's is the better choice for what we need?

On a side note, we would be getting either one used, probably an 05 or 06 as our max budget is 15k.

    Thanks for the input!

  • Provera 10 mg for 10 days, does it work?

My husband and I are trying to conceive, but my period has gone completely AWOL. I am not pregnant (took 10 tests to be sure!) so the doctor put me on provera 10 mg for 10 days and said my period should return a few days after I'm done with the pills. As I am already at about 60 days w/out my period, I am desperate for this to work so we can start trying again. Anyone out there had success with this course of treatment?

  • 48 days without a period, what to do?

I was on the birth control pill for 15 years (pretty much since I first got my period) due to cysts which caused weeks and months of bleeding at a time. I stopped taking it in November as my husband and I are trying to conceive. I got my period a few days later and then not again until January 13th, about two weeks late. I had my period for about 5 days and since then, nothing. I am now well over two weeks late and no period in sight. I am desperate to induce my period so we can start trying to get pregnant again and just wondering if anyone has any advice.

  • Is vitamin effective in bringing on a late period?

I've heard that taking Vitamin C in large amounts can bring on a late period. Has anyone done this successfully, and if so what dose did you use? My husband and I are trying to conceive, but my body is messed up from being on birth control for a long time. I'm 17 days late (not pregnant I've tested 10 times!) and desperate to start my period so we can start trying again soon.

  • Should I buy the Ford Escape 4 cyl or V6?

I'm looking at buying a Ford Escape, an 07 or 08 (although I think I like the newer styling better). I've been doing some comparison shopping and have come across quite a few of them that are 4 cylinder, which has really surprised me. I thought an SUV that size would require a V6. The 4 cylinder would be nice for higher mpg, but I get nervous that it wouldn't have enough pep. I'd love to hear from anyone that currently drives or has driven an Escape, thanks!
