  • What could be the cause of my foot and ankle swelling?

Both of my feet and ankles are quite swelled. This started 2 days ago. I'm very slim (120 lbs) and eat a healthy diet. I'm not pregnant and I'm not a diabetic. Any ideas?

  • Underrated or forgotten past-gen games?

Can you think of some underrated or "under the radar" past-generation games? (By past-gen I mean the PS2/Xbox?GC era and earlier.) I'm looking to fill my collection with some older games I may have missed. I'll list a few gems to get this started.

    1. Odin Sphere (PS2). This 2-D side-scrolling action RPG is beautiful, with 5 distinctly different characters with different fighting styles, and an epic storyline based of Norse mythology (it seems to closely follow Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung)). I think it was because it was released late in the PS2's life that it didn't get the recognition it deserved. It's gorgeous, fun, and unique, and I can't recommend it enough. :P

    2. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. A truly unique survival horror game that spans the ages, with "insanity effects" that add a new level of creepiness to the atmosphere. Other than the fact it was a GC exclusive, I can't fathom how this game wasn't more popular. The graphics are a bit dated now, but it doesn't take away from this game's creepy charm.

    3. Psychonauts - Wild, wacky, unique, quirky...this game has it all. An incredibly fun adventure/platformer by the amazing Tim Schafer, and since it was released on all 3 consoles (PS2, Xbox, GC) I have no clue by it's one of those "lost gems". If you haven't played it, do it.

I'm tired of writing long descriptions, but I'll throw Valkyrie Profile 2 (PS2) and Ico (PS2) in the mix as well.

Now it's your turn. I'd love to pick up some older games that I may have neglected in the past.

  • Who are a few of your favorite voice actors in video games?

I'm just curious of some voice actors who have left an impression on you. I know I'll think of many others after I make this post, but at the moment:

Liam O'Brien - Lezard Valeth (Valkyrie Profile 2), Ingway (Odin Sphere), many others. O'Brien really brings it home as Lezard, he's simply amazing.

Gideon Emery - Balthier (FFXII), many others

John DiMaggio - I could make a mile long list, but my personal fave is Gilgamesh (FFXII).

Tara Strong - Another VA that I could make a mile long list, but Rikku (FFX and X-2) and Seth (Lost Odyssey) are my faves.

Jennifer Hale - And yet another with a huge list of accomplishments, but Samus (MP2), Alex (Eternal Darkness), and the female Commander Shepard top my list of her work.

Now it's your turn! List your faves.

  • What are some of your favorite boss battles of all time?

Just curious. I'll name a few:

    1. The Colossus of Rhodes - God of War 2 (Such an epic battle, and right at the beginning of the game!)

    2. Psycho Mantis - Metal Gear Solid (When PM read some of the games I'd played on my memory card, I think my heart stopped for a second.)

    3. Mike Tyson - Mike Tyson's Punch-Out (I was only able to beat him ONCE, and I played this game a lot!)

    4. Yiazmat - Final Fantasy XII (This battle make me want to snap my controller in half. I swear I spent half my time reviving my party.)

    5. The Hydra - God of War (GoW loves to throw intense boss battles at you early, don't they!)

I have a ton more, but I'm tired of listing them. Tell me some of your fave boss battles.

  • What video game(s) do you think needs a sequel or remake?

I'm just curious what video game you would most like to see remade, or a sequel created? It can be from any era, any system, any game.

I'd love to see a sequel for Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. It was the most unique horror game I've ever played. With next-gen graphics, a sequel would be guaranteed to scare you silly!

I'd love to see a remake of Final Fantasy VI (6). That's right, I said 6, not 7. And not a handheld remake, I want a remake for the PS3. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?

I'd love to see either a remake or a sequel to Parasite Eve. Since it was a horror RPG, it combined my two favorite game genres!

  • What is the most challenging video game you've ever played?

Don't be afraid to go old-school on me, some of the most difficult games were on the older consoles (like the NES). Were you ever able to beat/complete the game? Just curious.

  • Do you watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?

I absolutely love this show, and not very many people I know have even seen it. It's always hilarious and over the top. If you've never seen it, it's a must-watch. If you do watch it, feel free to leave some comments. I'd like to hear your opinion of this program.

  • Best puzzle games for the PS2 or Gamecube?

I'm looking for a puzzle game for my mother that is similar to Tetris, Bust-A-Move, or Dr. Mario. I tried asking this question before, but I kept getting answers like "God of War". Now I love action games like God of War, but this game is for my Mom. She loves puzzle games. She really doesn't enjoy any other game genre. If anyone could recommend a good puzzle game (I truly don't care if it is old or new, as long as it's for the PS2 or GC), I'd appreciate it. Thanks so much.

  • What is the one video game that made you love gaming?

Even though the Atari got me into gaming, I think the original Legend of Zelda for the NES made me a true gamer. What about you? What game really made you love video games?

  • Christmas rock song trivia! Guess what song and band!?

Here are some of the lyrics:

    Jingle bells, jingle bells

    Jingle all the day

I just can’t wait till christmas time

When I can grope you in the hay

    Easy come, easy go

Have a good time with lots of dough

Slippin’ up high, slippin’ down low

Love’m and leave’m on with the show

Listen, I like female form in minimal dress

Money to spend with a capital ’s’

Get a date with the woman in red

Wanna be in heaven with three in a bed

He got it, I want it

They got it, I can’t have it

But I want it, it don’t matter

She got it, but I can’t get it

    I want a . . .

Finish the line ^ and that's the title!

1st one who gets the title and band gets a cool 10 points!

    Good luck, and happy holidays!
