  • What we learned so far in Lakers-Celtics Finals?

    Here's mine:

    1. Games 1 and 2 were the worst officiated finals game ever.

    2. Wins can go either way.

    3. Pau Gasol has been the MVP so far.

    4. KG lost it.

    5. Paul Pierce step aside because there's a new leader, it's Rondo.

    6. NBA players flops too much.

    7. Ron Artest doesn't get it.

    8. LO is consistently struggling.

    9. Big Baby is the best reserve so far.

    10. Lakers bigs are the best in the NBA, they are the advantage. Kobe may be the closer but good things happen if the ball starts with the bigs.

  • Why is Floyd retiring? No, this is not a rumor.?

This video was taken from a make-a-wish show. A kid with cancer asked Floyd to fight Pacquiao. Mayweather's response: "Mayweather is probably taking a year off, probably a couple years off."

  • Mayweather-Pacquiao in October or November, Says Roach?

Roach thinks the two sides will resolve the drug testing drama and make the fight happen. The two sides were unable to reach a deal earlier this year when they couldn't agree on the cut-off date for the random blood tests. Mayweather's side wanted the random Olympic style drug tests to continue until 14 days prior to the fight. Pacquiao wanted them to end 24-days prior to the fight. Roach is willing to meet them in the middle, at 17 or 18 days.

“Yes, it is going to happen. I just talked to Bob Arum yesterday. Bob is flying to the Philippines to make Manny the offer. We are going to make this work the best we can. I think we have enough ammo to get it done quickly because there is a lot of money out there. We’re going to meet in the middle [on the drug tests]. They wanted 14. We wanted 24. [We'll do] 17, 18-days," Roach said. "They are talking October, November. Definitely [to happen] before the year is out."

Is it too good to be true?

  • How's your reaction to Shane Mosley?

Well, last night was a great fight, a virtuoso performance by Mayweather.

But boy, I hated how Mosley fought. First of all, he didn't conserve his energy and just went at it in the first 2 rounds. Congratulations for landing cleanly on Mayweather's chin but he didn't really expect to win with one big punch, did he? After the 2nd round, I just told everyone that this fight is over because I thought Mosley is gonna be tired. And yes, I was right. Numbers don't lie, he only attempted 7 punches in the 3rd round. I expected him to miss a lot of shots but I didn't expect him to throw only 7.

In the fifth to tenth round, he was so busy shaking up his arms and shoulders. It's not like he was confusing Mayweather, all he did was waste more energy. People here thought he got Parkinson's.

Mayweather was amazing. I'm convinced that Pacquiao has little chance against Mayweather but I'm intrigued on how Mayweather will respond to 1000 punches.

  • With Hopkins' win, was B-Hop able to avenge his defeat?

Did B-Hop really avenge his defeat OR did he just beat somebody who's not a competitor anymore and just show us the obvious, RJJ isn't the fighter he was.

  • Who has a legitimate chance of beating Roy Jones Jr at his prime?

I know his career isn't comparable to the likes of the Sugar Rays, Duran, Armstrong, and other legends.

But his athleticism, in my opinion, is unmatched. I haven't seen anybody dance the way he does inside the ring.

    I'll really appreciate thorough analysis.

  • Who would win, Vitali or Wladimir?

Both in prime and same age, who wins?

    Deep analysis would be nice.

  • Roach suspects Pacquiao fight plan leaked to Clottey. What do you think?

I think this is the most possible explanation to the Clottey's performance, Pacquiao's game plan was leaked to Clottey. It actually makes sense.

    http://sports.inquirer.net/breakingnews/breakingne...

“I knew our best chance of knocking Clottey out would be to catch him when he’s throwing a punch. But Clottey doesn’t like to punch while you’re throwing one. The plan was that Manny would throw a one-two and then step backward as if he were trying to get out. We knew that would bring Clottey in, and the instant Manny saw him start to throw his jab he was supposed to catch him with a hook on top of it. Thing was Clottey never bothered to follow Pacquiao as he normally does in previous fights. The key is that Manny can’t be too effective with the first combination, because you didn’t want to discourage Clottey from doing what he was bound to do next,” Roach said.

“It’s just to bait the hook. The problem was we had Manny try it about ten times during the fight, and not once did Clottey try to move in and throw the jab.”

Roach became more intrigued by Clottey’s pronouncements that he didn’t watch tape and yet he was clearly familiar with the plan. The four-time Trainer of the Year then gave a hint saying that Pacquiao had a Ghanaian sparring partner (Abdullai Amidu) in his training for Clottey, who, however, preserved his legacy of never been knocked out.

“Maybe that’s the answer,” said Roach.

I don't believe the fight was fixed because Clottey did not only lose the fight, he loss everything. HBO don't want him anymore, he'll never get another title shot, and of course he'll never get another payday. Worst of all, some Ghanaians like Azumah were disappointed and probably even ashamed. The whole world is laughing at him for the cost of 2 million dollars? The loss is too much, his future in boxing was ruined.

  • Dela Hoya-Pacquiao..... Why are people of complaining of catchweight here?

These were some of ESPN comments by the fans before the fight. The fight was set at welterweight.

"What a surprise....DLH has another excuse to keep ducking Margarito. And DLH chooses to fight a guy 147 whose last fight was at 130? Manny has to move up to 147? Sounds like DLH is a bully and is scared of Margarito...." - 90UTDJ

"Oscar is a coward for taking his last 3 fights against smaller opponents. Manny is 3 WEIGHT CLASSES BELOW HIM AFTER MOVING UP!!! Oscar knows he can't be knocked out in this fight. That being said, I hope Manny wins the fight and can lure Mayweather back into the ring for a true pound for pound championship fight.. Mayweather would annihilate Manny, proving that there isn't even a close #2 on the P4P list" - koopa27

"David Diaz is CRAP DON'T COMPARE DIAZ TO DLH...Wow, I feel sorry for u guys believing MP has a chance. DLH will toy with him then KO him with a left hook. Guys THERE IS A REASON FOR WEIGHT CLASSES" - cpd3577

"what I see is a guy who will come into the fight at about 160 lbs, tower over Manny and destroy a smaller fighter no matter how much better Manny is p4p, the laws of physics dictate this is a bad matchup." - mikebobdog

"paquiao is gonna get his #### handed to him, if DLH can hang wit mayweather who is bigger, faster and stronger than he can take manny. I like manny and all but he's got a long night ahead of him movin up in weight. And what's with all the mayweather hatred. This is boxing...hit and don't get hit and he's the master at it." - Nfinite23

"No way Mayweather fights Pacquiao ... especially if Manny beats Oscar." - JeffBoxN

"guess Oscar was scared to fight anyone at his actual weight to call this the biggest fight of the year is hilarious. its interesting but not the biggest in my opinion also DLH is taking no risk. he is having a guy move up from basically lightweight to fight him and for him to ask for 70/30 split is funny to me" - RobDevils27

"Manny may die in there this is a joke" - Downtown Soulja

"De La Hoya will win fo sho. He's one of the greatest boxers ever, and he'll fight anyone." - Seattlerotarystyle

"De La Hoya will knock out pac man in the first round with the first left hook pac man jumps into REMEMBER THAT YOU HERD IT HERE FIRST!!!!!!!!" - bOXINGFAN85

A lot of those guys are actually Mayweather fans and just one Pac fan.

So, after the fight, why are people complaining of a catchweight? Dela Hoya picked Pacquiao when he could have picked Margarito who had just beaten Cotto at the time.

Can you imagine somebody from lightweight going up to Jr. Middleweight? Welterweight was the most possible weight to make the fight that Dela Hoya wanted.

  • What do you think of Roach's plan B?

Plan A is obviously the winner of Mayweather-Mosley fight. If Mosley wins, there wouldn't be a problem. If Mayweather win, there will be a lot of problems in both camps and please don't talk about it.

    Here is Roach's plan B:

    1. Valero

    2. His personal favorite: his rival trainer, Nacho and Pac's old nemesis, Marquez for a trilogy

    3. Devon Alexander/ Timothy Bradley IF they start selling tickets.

    Oh yeah, Margarito is out.

  • Mayweather: Pacquiao Got Exposed as One-Dimensional?

    http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=26053

In my own opinion, I think Pacquiao was one dimensional in the Clottey fight, however, it was because it was the only way to fight someone who's covering up too much and at the very least make the fight a little entertaining.

“I think Pacquiao gave the fans a boring fight. He was punching his arms for all 12 rounds. At least when you watch Floyd Mayweather you know you’ll be seeing non-stop action for 30 minutes straight and that’s what you’ll see on May 1st," Mayweather told Cage Report.

Out of all things Mayweather could have said, this is the most stupidest. Doesn't he know that it was Clottey who gave the fans a boring fight? It's not Pacquiao's fault that Clottey got scared, well, actually, it might be but that says something about Pacquiao. Floyd Mayweather in a non stop action? Delusional.

“The attendance numbers ain’t nothing compared to what I have drawn in the past or what I would have drawn if that was me in the ring that night, everybody knows that. Half those seats were empty in the back and people say Pacquiao is a draw? Let’s not forget who generated a revenue of 2.5 million dollars in one fight alone. The only reason why he's popular is because he's an ethnic minority and from the Philippines so it's something special. If he was from Africa he would be just another boxer.”

Mayweather-Clottey? Haha, please, stop the delusions.

"That’s the difference between an amateur and a true pound for pound boxer.”

Okay Floyd, he's an one-dimensional amateur, so I guess you'll fight him without drug test? Not........

"The only reason why he's popular is because he's an ethnic minority and from the Philippines so it's something special. If he was from Africa he would be just another boxer.”

Floyd, leave Philippines alone, just because you're American, it doesn't make you any better.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwnOs45rjiw#movie_p...

Here's the question. Do you think it's easier to make the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight if the fighter (Mayweather) isn't the promoter?

  • Can you imagine how disastrous would it be for boxing if Clottey wins?

Let's say Clottey wins the match.

Then what we'll probably have is

    Clottey-Mayweather......................

    or even worse,

    Clottey-Mosley............

I'm not trying to take anything away from Clottey but I think this is just disastrous for the future of boxing.

    What's your take?

  • Edwin Valero is the next Manny Pacquiao?

I've seen a lot of guys on different sites saying this. Some even say he's a mini-pacquiao, he will carry the torch, continue the excitement. Even Mayweather fans were saying this.

What does it say about Edwin Valero?

What does it say about Manny Pacquiao?
