I have to write a beat style poem for my college class. I have to write as if I am a beatnik in the late 1950s writing on what I think the current state of the country is. Its not nearly done I was just curious if it I was going anywhere in the right direction as to quality and style. I'd appreciate only serious comments!

How do they think they can put metal in space, machine in space, man in space

if they can’t even find the space to house the ideas of the people?

Space is out, gone, nowhere, everywhere

Space is the hollows in your brain, the hollows in your bones and in your heart,

the hollows they try to fill with nonsense: no drugs, no sex, no sense.

It’s the pulse of the drum, pulse of the heart that drives the music,

not the swish-swish, cling-ching money changing hands.

People live, sweat, breath, lust, lie, cry, and die

All the while money sits, building thrones for the pinstriped emperors

I see stores, shops, ads, filled with things,

Useless things that only clutter your home, your head

Hair spray: spray it on your hair, spray it in your eyes

Building, building are the need this, want this, gotta-have-its

Mr. Pinstripe hands rubbing life, liberty filling his pockets

Neighbors, mothers, sisters, Marilyns

Stop looking, it can’t be found

I'm on birth control and have been for about a year. Just this last moth I became sexually active. I'm about a week away from my period. I woke up this morning, after having sex last night, to find a bit of dark brown spotting. I haven't gotten then before a period in quite a while. I've been consistent with my medicine this month, only 30 minutes late one day. We don't use condoms but he always pulls out. The last two days I've also had a slight headache and minor cramps that sometimes accompany my period. Should I be worried? Is my body just getting used to being active again? It just seems odd that my period would be coming early when I've taken my medicine well. In short, is this anything to be concerned about?

My friend surprised me with an extra ticket to a hockey game tonight and I have never even watched hockey on tv. My sister has been before and said it was tons of fun, but I have no idea what to expect. Any like hockey etiquette I should follow? Probably a dumb question, but should I dress warmly because of the ice?

I'm wanting to get into the series so I thought I'd purchase the first one used for cheap, as older games are usually cheap. I've found that the lowest I can get the first one for is $30 while I could get the second for about $17. Anyone know why or where I can find it cheap? Should I just skip the first one?

I am having to write and essay about an IT issue within either my local or state community and how I would solve it. I'm obviously not asking for my exact topic,because its supposed to be somewhat specific. I'm just looking for some ideas that I can jump off of, brainstorm from. I've done some online research and can't really find anything big. The only thing that I can come up with is the vast amount of online identity theft/fraud and suggest better education. Any ideas at all will be appreciated! Thanks :)

There were three parakeets, two of which are mine, living in my house, seperate cages. They would occasionally play together and are used to the company. I just lost one of my own and cannot think of replacing him anytime soon. Within the next year, I am planning on moving out and taking my one remaining parakeet with me. She has never lived on her own. So do I really need to buy her a companion once I move away from my roommate's bird? I'd rather not get another just for the sake of it, but I don't want my remaining bird to be miserable. Will she eventually adjust? What's the best thing I can do for her?

I'm buying an xbox360 tommorow and would like to know what all I need to go with it. I really just need the minimum as I'm not a huge gamer. Also is it alright to just buy used games online? Trying to save money but get a good experience for my money.

I have three female parakeets, all in separate cages. One has been laying eggs since about the beginning of the year. I have done some research and know that this is alright in moderation, since the eggs are not fertilized. Within the last few months, though, the egg laying has increased a lot. She is laying 1-3 eggs about every month or so. I know that they can become calcium deficient or egg bound, so I've been careful to give her vitamins and such. I am just worried that 3 eggs every month is hurting her still. She is generally acting alright, but I cannot let her out of her cage to play with the other birds because she always attempts fertilization and lays eggs after. I have noticed that lately her beak is a slightly blue/gray color, but this could be unrelated. In short, is there anything I should/shouldn't be doing for her? Should I be alarmed? I do not want to pay for a vet visit if there is nothing they can do for her. Thanks!

Previous to this summer, I had a twice a week for a month little summer job teaching preschool. This summer, since i'm starting college in the fall, I decided I should try and get a more permanent part-time job that I could possibly keep during the school year. i got hired on last week at a department store. Everyone is very nice and the work isn't absolutely terrible (just the normal customer service woes). My first week I was already working twenty hours, and the next few weeks I am scheduled for around 25 hours. I'm kinda freaking out and feeling overwhelmed. Every night so far i've come home with terribly aching feet from standing all day and I've only had to work 5 hours a day maximum so far. Next week i'm scheduled two 8 hour days right in a row. I am also already paranoid about when school starts how I will be able to handle things if its already this bad. Am I just being a baby because it's my first job and I'm used to getting to sit around all day as a teenager, or do you think I'm probably legitimately being a bit overworked for what I can handle? I'm really at a loss as to whether talk to my boss about getting less hours ( even though i've only been there two weeks), say to heck with it because I don't really a need a job THAT bad, or suck it up and stop being a baby.

My boyfriend is becoming a fairly successful acting career and just recently recieced a higlh romantic role in a play. I know he loves me and we've been together over a year, but I feel myself being really jealous. He even has go kiss another girl.
