  • Harm to fish after it has been out of water?

    Hi All, I was clearing some plants from my pond on Saturday and without realising it I caught one of my fish in with the plants I was hooking out. I didn't notice the fish for about 2 hours. When I found it it was still alive but I think only just. I immediately put it back in the water. I had to hold it upright for a while and move it around so water would enter its mouth and over its gill, it seemed to recover from its ordeal. It was weak for an hour or so but started to swim around. My question is are there likely to be any long term effects to spending so much time out of water?
