I want to build a computer with either the FX 8350 or the i5 3570K but I am not sure which one to go with. According to several benchmark tests I can expect to see identical or better performance from the FX 8350 across several game titles; however; at the moment there is also a lot of hype surrounding the i5 which may or may not be true.

So the real question is, which is the better option for gaming and in the long term?

Keep in mind that I will be using an HD 7970. Intel Ivy and Sandybridge CPUs use Integrated Graphics which is dead money in this instance.

Would an AMD FX 4100, 4300 or 8350 be sufficient for any game on the market? What are your recommendations?

I also looked at the Intel i5s and i7 which are definitely great CPUs but as I said they come with integrated graphics, generally their core clock speeds are lower, and i7s in particular seem like overkill.

I was looking at the Logitech G35 ($128 NZD) and the Sennheiser PC 330 ($139 NZD). Are there any other perhaps better speced gaming headsets out there for around the safe price? Explain your choices.

According to this particular review, the HD 7970 performed better in terms of FPS in every game tested. Nevertheless, for some reason, retailers always seem to recommend nVidia products especially for gaming. Which is actually the better pick overall and why? Can you say "di un" (of a) or do Italians tend to avoid doing this? And can you use "dove" to say "where" in this context?

I originally thought the i7-3770 would be the ideal pick, but it seems almost completely unnecessary, and in any case I get the impression that a good graphics card is more important for games (is this true?). Further, the i7 uses an integrated graphics "solution" (HD 4000) which is like wasting money on something I won't use.

Is the AMD FX4100 a good gaming CPU? It's supposed to be a 3.6 GHz processor, 10 MB cache: I would have thought that was good enough for any game out there. Does it run properly with Windows 7?
