my girlfriend said she wants to take a break because we have been fighting a lot and she has been really mad at me and she said she just needs time to cool down so that we can work things out. Now I'm not dumb, I usually know what taking a break means but it seems different this time. I told her she had to tell me if she was just letting me down easy, if she really didnt wanna come back. She told me she does, that she still loves me and that she just needs to cool off. It's been really tough its been about three weeks and we haven't talked much. In the beginning I was always trying to talk her out of it and hanging on but now i decided if she wants to talk she will talk to me. Some days are okay, she tells me she misses me and sends me hearts and things other days we don't talk at all..i'm very confused, what should I do? Keep giving her space, or should I try to push the subject? How long does it usually take for this sort of thing? Any help will be appreciated.

I mean on defense I don't mind how we look, we lost rafalski and signed commodore and white, neither of whom are at raffi's caliber but, commodore brings some more ruggedness, and white, is a fairly decent puck mover, so I don't mind those signings but at forward how can he possibly believe we are set? Players like bertuzzi and filppula, holmstrom, hudler, even franzen at some points just don't show up to play, hudler and fil both under achieve, this set of forwards will not lead us to the cup, he said he would like to keep the cap space to make some moves at the deadline but I don't think we will be in very good shape for the post season with these guys up front, anybody feel like trying to explain this to me, I've always trusted holland but this time I just don't get it.

Would like to thank brian for being a class act, as a redwings fan though I am extremely happy this clears up 6 mill in cap space, not to mention we won't have to pay lidstrom as much to be the highest paid d-man. There's a lot of rumours about a bogosian trade, and free agents such as bieksa, wisniewski and pitkanen, who do you think we should get to replace rafalski? Or maybe a nice high end forward like brad richards or simon gagne with our cap space?

I asked the other day but didn't get much feedback, who do you want to see in the winged wheel next year, fa's, trades etc. And who on the current roster would you like gone for next year, I have my own opinions of course but I want to see what you guys think!

Obviously we didn't have a terrible year by any means, but it is obvious some tweaks need to be made to get us up to par again, who do you not want to come back next year, and what players would you like ken holland to pursue either via free agnecy or trade, opinions people!

IMO, I dont think we should bring modano, draper, ozzy, hudler, bert, or filppula back next year, either by trade, release, or retirement, it's time to move on and I don't see what these guys bring to the table anymore that we don't already have.

A few guys that interest me in free agency

Tomas Fleischmann- Last year he only played 45 games, and put up 31 points, G-12, A-19, split between washington and colorado, back in 09-10 he played 69 games and put up 51 points, G-23, A-28. Playing with the talent we have, and a healthy season could see him excel even more.

Tomas Kopecky- I know the uproar this will cause with some people, but to be honest he put up much better numbers after he left and his ice time went up, he's a big body and his game a developed more, better than any of the guys we should drop IMO

Antti Miettinen-Once a 20 goal scorer, good for 40-50 points on an awful minnesota team, imagine the possibility on a good wings team, this guys has more skill then most people realize.

Sean Bergenheim-Not likely because of where tampa is at right now, he's more likely to re-sign but he's a hard worker and he has impressed me in these playoffs

Joni Pitkanen would be a nice grab, good for 30-40 points, a nice solid defenseman would fit in nicely.

Peter Budaj, or Alex Auld could help us more than Osgood or Joey Macdonald, as Jimmy's back up.

Naturally we can't get all of them, but those are a few guys they might want to take a look at.
