My children have requested to change their surnames?
My children have pleaded with me to change their surnames to my maiden name. Is this allowed seeming the father no longer has any contact with the children and does not pay child support.
My second oldest daughter says she is just going to change her name regardless if I give her permission or not.
I have looked up the law, and it says anyone is allowed to change their name, it is not illegal too change your name. However, it is advisable for people to register the name changes, mainly for identity reasons.
If I did register the name change. The father would carry on about his rights for months and would not have any consideration for the children needs. Is there a way to change it without going through unnecessary complications. The children have been through enough other than having to challenge their father again
