  • Is ther any way to find the asker's username?

I answered a question several years ago on my old account which no longer exists. Since I answered it I have been wondering if my mother asked that question. But with the new layout there is no username displayed next to the question so I can't go to the asker's profile. Is there any way I could find out who asked that question? This is really important to me because what I said in that answer would have really hurt my mum if she had asked the question and I need to apologise. Thanks in advance.

  • Teachers: What would you do if a child ran away from school?

I just wonder what you would do if an eight year old child climbed over the fence/wall and ran off during playtime? Would you chase them, and what if you couldn't catch them for some reason?

This is not something I am planning to do! I am writing a story which involves a character doing this, and I am home educated so I don't know what a teacher would do about it.

    So what would you do?

    Thanks in advance!

  • What do you think of this character for a story?

Hi. I previously wrote a story inspired by my dreams, and now I am writing a sequel which is also inspired by my dreams. The sequel involves some new characters, and this is my favourite. I don't intend on publishing the stories as they are written lightheartedly, but I don't want to risk creating a 'Mary Sue/ Garry Stu'. So here he is, please judge him!

He is called Nerang. It is a real Australian Aboriginal name meaning 'little.' He has lived in England all his life, but his Mum emigrated from Australia with her partner. His mum is called Bakana, and her partner is called Derain. Derain and Bakana have six children, plus Nerang. But Nerang is half white, because he was conceived by rape. Derain is basically his father, although not biologically, and Bakana is his mother in all senses of the word.

Nerang is about nine, but very short for his age. He loves climbing trees, this is necessary to the plot as he meets another main character after spying on him from trees. And he is brilliant at it. All the trees that he climbs in the story, I have climbed first to make sure it is possible. He likes spying on people from trees, but he doesn't use this to blackmail them, get into their gardens, or anything like that. He just enjoys being an unseen being, running from place to place and watching without being watched.

He does this at school too, he doesn't have any friends as many students don't even realise he exists. Those who do can never find him. But he likes his own company.

He usually wears brown shorts, weather permitting of course, and blue shirts. He often doesn't bother with footwear but if he does, he has brown sandals.

The story involves him befriending another boy called David. David is an angsty preteen, constantly at loggerheads with his younger siblings, and Nerang is about the only person he feels happy around. But at school ( David is at secondary school, Nerang isn't yet) one of Nerang's older brothers, called Mowan, who doesn't like David, has to work with David on a history project. During the project, it turns out that one of David's ancestors had one of Mowan's ancestors as a slave. Mowan uses this as an excuse to hate David, though this is obviously extremely unfair. Nerang begins being cruel to David too, to protect himself from Mowan. Nerang doesn't like being unable to see David, so he taunts him and makes himself see David as an enemy. The story is about the feud between the families, and their attempts to bring everyone together again.

    Opinions please?
