This is an update to my profile, I am now 17 and am taking classes in dog training, I should be a full fledged trainer within 2-3 years, wish me luck (oh, and I still write story's and tie flies.)

  • where can I go to view these historical writings?

In 1885 Germans wrote their first war dog manuals, does anyone know where I would need to go to view these?

I am writing an essay on k-9 training, kind of like a "then and now" view.

I have found some other scattered references to these manuals however I can not seem to find any in-depth information about them, if anyone could help it would be appreciated.

  • If you were directing, writing, and producing "the last airbender" what would you do to make it any good? fun!?

I would break each book up into two movies, in order to give me enough time to put all of the important information in, instead of trying to do catch up to explain everything. I would have different actors for almost everyone then what M. night had.

Aang (pronounced with an A and not and O) would be sympler, in that his arrows would not look so complicated, they were distracting in my opinion. I would pic actors that could act. When doing the bending scenes, the movements would be more fluid, and there would be less of them. in other words, it wouldn't take ten seconds (during which time a fire bender could put a sword in my heart) to produce a splash of water :D

so what would you do differently if you had the power to redo the movie?

  • Who owns the rights to "the last air bender" movies?

I am curious if Shyamalan owns the movie rights, or if he was just hired to make it. I would like to see the movie redone, but I'm worried the M. Night is too prideful to admit he's done wrong, and redo/sell the rights to someone else.

I know allot of people don't feel that the series can be done in live action, I disagree, look at transformers, there was once a time when no one believed it could be done either, but it was, I think it could be done again, you just have to have a competent director.

  • this is strange... its about a GSD?

I was walking through town and I saw what the owner claimed to be a purebred GSD. the dog was beautiful and perfect in all ways... except one, he had a white star on his chest.

I was wondering, is it at all common for a purebred GSD to have a white star on its chest (all other fir was black)

I have never heard of this before.

  • what do you think about me getting a dog if...?

I am planing on getting a CDL so that I can begin driving a semi, and I am considering getting an already trained dog that can accompany me.

this is not set in stone, but if this is something that you feel I could do, what would be your suggestion of how to go about this?

  • receiving a CDL in Illinois?

Hi, I am considering getting my CDL in Illinois, I am not yet 21, so I will only be able to drive in IL, which I am OK with.

I just wanted to know if anyone here had any "little known facts" about, or any details about the CDL that you feel I should know.

  • For dog breeders on Yahoo answers?

I have a question for you breeders.

So I finely found a dog breeder that I wish to purchase my German Shepherds Dog from, and we have exchanged many e-mails, and I feel very comfortable talking with him.

He has been very understanding of my situation.

Usually, he replies to my e-mails within the first 24 hours of my e-mailing him. He has asked many questions in order to insure that I am a good potential owner of his pup, and likewise, I have made many inquiries in order to insure he is a good breeder, all in all, he looks good thus far.

Anyhow, my question is this, in our last e-mail, he asked me if I was interested in breeding, to this I replied "I do not have any intentions too".

what strikes me as strange is that it has been two days since he has last e-mailed me, and as I said earlier, he usually replies within 24 hours of sending an e-mail.

I am not sure what to make of this, what do you breeders think? could it be he just feels I have answered a sufficient amount of questions? and therefor sees no reason to respond?

  • Fixing dogs, neuter/spay?

    Okay, my question is this.

We have all kinds of different medical procedures for all kinds of different medical problems, what are all of the different ways of sterilizing our dogs?

Is surgery the only option? or is there a way to sterilize a dog without the risk of surgery?

  • intact dogs aggressive to fixed dogs?

I just finished reading that intact dogs tend to be more distrusting, or aggressive to fixed dogs... is this true? it seemed far fetched to me, and wrong, however, I am of the mind that we must all consider all sides of the story. So therefor, I am giving those of this mindset (if any exist on this sight) to explain their reasoning, and to show me proof. Also, I would like to hear what the other side (the side I am currently on) thinks of this?

  • teaching dogs to fetch?

I have two dogs, and neither of them play fetch.

I understand that dogs need to have time to learn these things, however, they will not chase anything I through for them, or, when they do, the find it, then just walk away.

I have tried using their favorite toys, everything, and my mom will not allow me to use treats (which I was going to put inside a ball to entice them to actually pick the thing up) but mom said no, so I am at a loss.

    any suggestions?

I want to teach fetch so that I have more games to play with them aside from tug of war, we do have a few others, but to me, there's nothing like a good game of fetch, I had played it with Captain, the first dog I remember from my childhood, but I haven't played it since...

  • Carnivorous plant garden?

I am in the process of building a carnivorous plant garden. As you can imagine, the size and scope of this garden makes purchasing pre blended soil somewhat expensive. I read that I can blend Sphagnum moss and sand, but I am not sure what kind of sand I should use, is play-ground sand good enough, or should I use a different kind?

Building this garden is somewhat new to me, I am used to potting the plants, which is why I usually buy the pre-blended.

  • the "king shepherd... or shepherd king...."?

  • do you approve of "creating a new breed"?

First off, I want to point out that I do not believe in mixing breeds at random. this question is in regards to people who would do this in a sensible way. I am not a breeder, and I know nothing about how it is done, this is just a question from a curious bystander.

So, we all know that most of our breeds today have come through mixing different bloodlines to get the best dog we could (the first breed that comes to mind is the GSD).

So my question is, do you approve of continuing this practice in order to get even better breeds? if so, why? if not, why not?

anyone that knows anything about me know that I renounce and abhor backyard breeding, and puppy mills. so I am in no way an advocate of randomly mixing breeds to get a "cuter dog" or a "smaller breed". So please realize I am just trying to learn all that I can, if I want to train dogs, I don't want to be ignorant of the facts.
