  • Question about how to cite a news story?

Part of a paper I am writing discusses the media's coverage of the George Zimmerman trial. I am also writing a couple paragraphs where I briefly describe what happened the night of the shooting. Do I need to cite that (as in crediting a news story where I got the details) since even the newscast is simply a retelling of something that already happened?

How would I cite it? Would it be something like: "According to John Smith of NoNameNews, Martin was shot..."

  • Is Weeds anywhere close to being even a fraction as good as Breaking Bad?

I'm a huge Breaking Bad fan and I absolutely loved the finale, but now I'm going through major withdrawal pains. I need something to tide me over until Better Call Saul starts. I've heard that Weeds has a similar premise to BB. Is it worth watching?

  • Chicken & Waffles, or French Dip Sandwiches?

I write a food blog and for this post I'm tying in the MLB playoffs. I have iconic foods from each playoff city going head-to-head against the city that they are playing against in the playoffs. (For example, Cincinnati chili vs. Pittsburgh Primanti bros sandwiches. And yeah, I know that Cinci is already out-that's irrelevant)

My match-up for Braves/Dodgers is Fried Chicken & Waffles vs. French Dip sandwiches (which allegedly started in LA)

I'm having all kinds of trouble deciding who should 'advance,' because both these foods are absolutely delicious.

  • What does "Queen for a Day" mean in layman's terms?

In Breaking Bad one of the guys on Mike's list is about to sell out to Hank. His lawyer negotiates with Hank about what the guy will receive. One of the offers is "Queen for a Day."

    What is that?

  • Proper way to write football yard lines?

In an essay, if you wanted to say you had the ball at your own 30 yard line, would there be any hyphens, or are all the words separate?

  • Any idea what this song is?

This is a long shot. And I'm going to humiliate myself by trying to recreate the song. And probably humiliate myself even more if the answer is something really obvious.

Anyway this is a rock song that is played on the radio pretty frequently. The singer sounds kind of like Ozzy. He sings a few words, and then there's some guitar. The only words I can make out are 'so unfair'

When he's singing, he sort of goes "la la la la la la la la la la la la lalala" with the last 3 really fast. He doesn't actually la, I'm just trying to recreate the beat.

the guitar part goes babababababababababababababababaBABAba with the cap. part being louder

that's all I can really give you. Any chance anyone knows the song?

  • King of Queens episode that spoofs other shows?

I already know it's called Inner Tube. It's the one where Doug lies to Carrie to avoid going to a function at her office, and instead goes to play mud football and gets sick. The next day, he stays home and watches TV and dreams he is in the shows.

I know what most of them are but there's a couple I don't recognize. One is the cartoon after the Wheel of Fortune spoof.

Also, the one that's directly after the Brian's Song spoof, when Deacon says, "I loved Doug Heffernan," Is that one part of Brian's Song, or is it something else?

Here's a video with just the clips

  • A man is visiting Ireland...........................?

And decides to hit some bars. After several hours of getting hammered, he stumbles out to the curb and hails a cab.

A little while later, the cab is stopped by some masked thugs, who yank the man out of the car and pin him against the trunk. They all hold guns on him and demand to know if he is a Catholic or a Protestant.

The man's mind races furiously, knowing his life depends on the answer he gives. He decides to play it safe and says, "Neither! I'm Jewish!"

One of the thugs turns to his companion with glee and shouts, "Achmed! We finally found one!"

  • Is Sarajskij the same as Sarajevo?

I am trying to book a train ticket from Vienna to Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina. The OBB website does not have a listing for Sarajevo, but it does have one for Sarajskij. Is Sarajskij the German spelling of Sarajevo?

  • Game keeps minimizing?

I've had Madden NFL '06 on my laptop (Dell w/ Windows 7) for several years and it has always worked fine. In the last week or so, however, it has started acting weird. The game will run for a few seconds, then minimize to the taskbar and I will be looking at my desktop. I usually am able to click on the icon and bring the game back up, but sometimes it refuses to even to that and just stays minimized.

I know that it is not an issue of a program stealing focus, and my anti-virus program says everything is fine.
