  • Help me decide on a suppressor...?

    I know the numbers and the paperwork, but I just can't seem to figure out which one(s) I'd like to get. I'll be going through a local dealer for the form 3 and 4, on a trust. NFA branch is running 7 months last I heard on the forms, plus another 3-4 on the F3.

    Mostly, I'm looking for more opinions on my choices. They all get good reviews, but I can always use more outside opinions.

    Rimfire: Silencerco Sparrow II (stainless monocore take down)

    Centerfire: Yankee Hill Machine Phantom 7.62 SS QD

    Centerfire Misc: Liberty Mystic (going to run .357 and whatever else through it)

  • Anyone else worried about the current political divide?

    Simply put, America is more fragmented as ever. I don't see this ending any good way. For the record, I'm not advocating or saying that civil war is possible or probable. I can see interracial/political/economic crimes hitting an all time high as people become more disenfranchised with society.

    What are your thoughts on this?

  • What is your favorite wild game recipie?

    Simple as that. I'm looking for more ideas for all the moose in my freezer, not to mention the ice is finally breaking up, so salmon, trout, burbot, pike, and other tasty fish will be on my stove soon.

    And yes, I put this in hunting for a reason. I don't want to get the "hunting is bad M'Kay" comments I'd get in cooking.

    I live in Alaska. Practically everyone in the state hunts.

    I am a gun owning, Republican voting (lesser of two evils) Pagan Alaskan.

    I know there are lots of folks that feel or think gun owners are evil and the same with pagans/republicans/etc.

    What would you tell me (using certified fact, not feelings) that could change my mind?

  • I can't decide on my next caliber...?

    I am building another rifle, and I can't decide between 5.56x45 and 300 AAC blackout. I reload so components and ammunition availability is a non issue. Largely it will be use for paper and the occasional caribou.

    5.56 is longer ranged, but 300 is harder hitting.

    And yes, I know exactly what I am asking and the limitations of these rounds. I just want an outside opinion.

    5.56 will be a 14.5" mid gas

    300 will be a 12.5" SBR with a pistol gas system

    Both with a 1:7 twist.
