  • I need a History expert please?

What war was it that a General claimed he would lead his soldiers without the use of weapons, all he needed was God at his side? I also need to know who said it. I have searched everywhere for the answer, and I can't find it. I am completely stumped. Thank you!!!

  • Looking for the name of this children's show. I think it is on the Disney Channel?

The show has these puppets made out of people's hands. They paint the hands to look like people. My son likes this show, but I don't know the name or when it comes on. Anybody know the name of this show? Thanks!

  • I need to pospone a shower I offered to throw a friend. The best wat to handle this?

I offered to throw my friend from work a baby shower. However some things have come up and I need to pospone it by two weeks. First, the girl who was supposed to cohost the shower says she can no longer do it. So I am now on my own. I haven't been able to sit down and do the invites or the planning. And on top of all this I was forced into quitting my job for reasons I could not help. I asked her If we could just push it back two weeks( it was set for next weekend, though the invitations have not been given out) since I will now have more time to do it. I also told her that it would have to wait the two weeks since money will be tight for a few weeks because I now have no job. In two weeks my monthly bills will be paid and i will have a better idea of how much I can spend on the shower. She says it can't be postponed becuase it is too close to her due date and she won't have enough time to finish getting what she needs for the baby. Was I wrong to ask? How can I be polite yet firm ?

  • I offered to throw my friend a baby shower, but some things have come up and I need to postpone?

I offered to throw a shower for my pregnant coworker. It is primarily people from work. Another girl and I were supposed to throw it together. However, they decided on the date when I wasn't present. Then, the other girl backed out. Then, this week I quit my job (due to reasons beyond my control). So needless to say money is going to be tight for the next couple weeks, and it certainly doesn't help that the other girl didn't come through as promised. I asked my friend if it would be okay to postpone the shower by two weeks, because by then all my monthly bills will be paid and I will know how much I can safely spend without hurting myself. I explicitly told her I didn't want to cancel it, just postpone it. She refused becasue she said that won't give her enough time to take stock in what she has and what she still needs to get. She is due in late October. She told me I could just wait until I have more money to buy her a gift and just use what I have on the shower. Was I wrong to ask?

  • Does anyone have experience with collection agencies? I don't know what my next move should be?

I have a credit card in collections for roughly 2800.00 . I have had two conversations with the agent. I offered him 100.00 monthly payments. He said it wasn't enough. His tactics are questionable and immoral if not illegal. After doing research, I have found out that this agency has a terrible reputation and are in trouble with their home state due to their business practices. I tried to work out a deal with the card company and I was told that I had to deal with the Collection Agency. All I want is to pay off the damn debt, but as I explained to the Agent, I have disabled child who needs exensive therapy and this is all I can afford without making my son suffer. I can't afford a judgement because that will take money away from my son's therapy and Insurance won't cover the cost. I am also reluctant to even deal with the agency becauseof the reputation they have for screwing people over. What is the best way to proceed from here? Thanks

  • My family disagrees with some of the decisions I have made regarding my son's welfare. Am I wrong?

My son will be attending a special preschool for autistic children in April when he turns three. My mother and my sister disagree with this because they feel he is too young and lacks the understanding as to why he is being sent there. They feel that I need to volunteer at the school in his classroom so that I can keep an eye out for any type of mistreatment because my son is not able to communicate these things to me. I feel that it would hold him back from realizing his true potential. He will want to cling to me, and I feel that this will delay his progress. I also feel my presence there will only delay the inevitable. Eventually he will have to attend school without me and when that day comes he will be extremely upset, whether I ease him into it by volunteering or not. I feel that it is better for him to get used to being there alone sooner as opposed to later. I hate leaving him, but he needs the therapy the school will provide and I want him to get the most from it. Am I wrong?

  • What is a fair price for carpet including installation for a living room and a hall totaling 430 sq ft?

I know that the price largely depends on what type of carpeting I buy. I am looking for a ball park or average estimate. This is for a rental property and I only need it to last for about three years. I am the tenant and really don't want to pay more than I have to since I am not going to be taking it with me when I move out. I don't need anything too fancy but I would still like something comfortable that looks decent. As for the installation, there is no carpet to remove and I can move most if not all of the furniture myself if that reduces the price. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful in planning our budget for this project. Thanks

  • I am about to send my autistic son to a special preschool and I am a nervous wreck?

My son is about to turn three in April. He will begin a state funded preschool at that time. He will be going to a public Elemantary school for 5 days a week for 6 hours a day. I am apprehensive about this because he is uncomfortable around people he doesn't know and has never been away from me and his dad. I worry about the teacher he will get and whether she will understand his needs. My son has feeding issues and still relies on milk as his primary source of nutrition and I worry that she will take his bottle away. The tough love approach is ineffective on him. I worry that he will have contact with the regular students who are not in the program. He cannot communicate with me to tell me if someone is mistreating him. Does anyone have any experience with this type of program? How did your kids do? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Does anyone have ideas on how to help a 3 year-old with feeding difficulties?

My son will be 3 in April. He has Autism and as a result we have trouble getting him to eat age appropriate foods. He has many sensory issues when it comes to textures and won't swallow anything thicker than a puree. He still gets the majority of his nutrition from whole milk and he is still on the bottle. When he does eat, it is baby food, and he only averages about 2 jars a day. I give him a vitamin to help meet his nutritional needs, but I fear it is not enough. We finally were able to get him to chew certain foods but he has only been able to do this for a few months and it is usually junk food such as chips, french fries, and crackers. He will also eat corn chex from the box. Usually he only chews things that are crunchy and salty. Then he usually spits it out on the floor. He only swallows about 20% of the time. Does anybody have any ideas on what else I can do to help him? Please don't suggest OT. We are on a waiting list that is several months long. He needs help now!

  • Is my husband selfish, or am I the selfish one?

My husband finished my Christmas shopping tonight, only to inform me that he was not wrapping them. His reasoning is that he has never wrapped gifts before and doesn't know how. Someone has always done it for him in the past but we have moved recently and he hasn't been able to ask anyone. He told me he would just hand them to me out of the shopping bag. I pointed out that it would not kill him to at least give it a try. He then told me that he didn't have time to wrap them. I got upset with him because even though Christmas isn't really about the presents, I would at least like to participate when he and my 3 year old son are opening their presents on Christmas day. I am really more upset that he can't seem to want to spend an extra 20 minutes to wrap them so that I don't feel left out. I don't care how they look. I would just like to be able to open presents with my family. I have worked really hard to make it the nicest Christmas I can . Am I not worth 20 minutes of his time?

  • Do you think that the government should regulate what people can buy with food stamps?

I work in a grocery store. As a taxpayer it is hard not to get upset at what I see people using their food stamps for. I see people buy 40.00 birthday cakes, sub sandwiches that the deli makes to order, crab legs and shrimp that cost 10.00 or 15.00 a pound. Worse yet, they buy 2 lbs of crab legs for 30.00 and then make their kids live off of ramen noodles! Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture? Isn't a 40.00 birthday cake excessive? The subs cost 8.00 each and for 8.00 you can buy a lb of lunchmeat and a loaf of bread. For 30.00 you can feed a family of 4 a healthy meal like chicken and rice and a salad instead of forcing your kids to eat noodles that are high in fat and low in nutrients. I even saw a lady buy over 100.00 in deli platters. I don't care how people spend their money, but when they use their food stamps on frivolous things, they are wasting my money and yours. I work hard for a living, only to watch people abuse the system on things I do without.

  • Help! My Yahoo mailbox is getting flooded with spam!?

I ordered something off of a website the other day. Now my email is full of spam from different companies. I get everything from payday advances to credit offers for cars, mortgages, credit cards, to chances to earn money for taking surveys. You name it , I get it. I am getting 75 to 100 spam messages a day.Today I got 72. This is getting ridiculous. Is there any way to get out of this mess? I was so mad at the website that I canceled my order and I complained. They said they can only stop email from themselves, not from all the other companies, even though they acknowledged that the other companies got my address from their website. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

  • My car is making this hissing noise. What could this mean?

The hissing begins when I turn the car off. Also, every once in a while it takes 2 or three attempts to start it, but not that often. It always starts after the second or third attempt. Is it related to the noise? It is a 2001 Toyota Camry that I bought new. It has 103,000 miles on it. Does any one have any ideas on what is causing this? Thanks.

  • Was this person out of line?

I was on answers this morning, and I reported someone for repeated postings, as they had asked the same question 10 times in a 10 minute time period and it wasn't really question. This person was basically just trying to get a rise out of people. So I answered that i was reporting them for a violation because I was tired of them asking the same ridiculous question . I received an email from another respondant to the same question saying I was not supposed to abuse the report feature just because I am tired of answering the same question,(I only answered it once) and that her advice is that If I don't want to repeatedly answer the same question, not to click on it , it is that simple. I also saw that she went on to one of my open questions and left a really rude sarcastic remark. My question wasn't offensive at all, I was only asking for a recipe. Do you think what she did was really necessary, or was I wrong in any way?
