I attempted my first homemade pickles. I made a pint of tiny koshier dills (with a mix) that turned out great... however, my quart of larger pickles turned out mushy. I used a store bought pickle mix... And I did them in a hot water bath..What can I do to make sure my pickles are crispy like those I buy in a store??? Thanks in advance

My husband has had his new dentures about three weeks. He went and had the first soft liner this week. The next morning when he woke up, his lips were swollen and felt burned. His inside of his mouth felt like it was burned as well. He even had blister like places come up on his hands. Being a hardheaded person, he wont call the dentist and ask about it lol,,, has anyone had this to happen? He is type 2 diabetic, might this have something to do with it? Any help is appreciated.

My future daughter in law wants to work with children. I have advised her to look to other careers than being a teacher. As a preschool teacher myself, the payscale is very small and there are little to no benefits. I want her to look into other options. Any suggestions?

My husband and I know of a young girl who is living in a bad situation (wont go into details). We would like this child to come live with us. The father (mother does not have custody) says he will sign anything to let her live with us. How would we go about this legally? I have looked under free legal forms.com but cannot find anything t hat fits that description.

Now that the weather is warmer ants have once again found their way into my dishwasher. I have not seen any on the counters or window sills, just in the dishwasher. I have sprayed under the sink and in the spaces between dishwasher and counters but it does not seem to keep them out. Does anyone have any suggestions? Its pretty gross to open the dishwasher to see a swarm of ants. Thanks

I have always had the small gray mourning doves around my house. The past few weeks I have had a pair of much larger, whiter doves coming to my bird feeder. They are not pure white but much whiter than the mourning doves. Are these a wild dove or someones tame doves? Thanks for any answers, the doves are beautiful to watch in the yard.

I have done a little looking before seeing my tax preparer and have not seen anything about first time home buyers. I am hoping that last years "stimulus" did not do away with the tax breaks.

I am looking to try an experiment. I want to plant a couple of pistachio trees and see how they do. I know most pistachio trees are grown in California and such climates, but still want to give it a go. Are there any online or print catalogs that sell pistachio seedlings? I have not had any luck finding any. Thank you for any comments and eagerly await any responses even those from the usual "experts" telling me it cant be done. (loves a challenge)

I have a 12 year old Bichon. He constantly licks the furniture. If we leave a pair of shoes on the floor, he will lick them until they are soaked. He licks the couch pillows, etc. He has only one tooth missing and is in very good health for his age. Has anyone else had this problem and were you able to stop it?

I live in arkansas and have a tame grape growing on an trellis in the yard of our new house. I know wild grapes get ripe in the fall, what about tame grapes?

I have been told that you need to prune them back in the winter. Any ideas how exactly. I have grown lots of things but never grapes. Any simple instructions would be appreciated. Cant wait to make grape jelly next summer.
