  • ionic equilibrium help!?

    CyH+ [red] <--> Cy [purple] + H+

    Ka for the above equation is 5.00 x 10^ -5

    CyH+ + SO2 + H2O <--> CySO3H2 + H+

    when SO2 is added to the fruit juice buffered at pH=3.0 to give an equilibrium concentration, [SO2], of 1.0 x 10^ -2 mol dm^ -3, the intensity of the red colour decreases to one tenth of its original value. [ratio of the red to the purple form in a fruit juice buffered at pH=3.0 is 20:1]

    write an expression for the equilibrium constant for the reaction and use the above data to calculate its value.

    thanks!!

  • DNA transcription help?

    for transcription, there will be a template strand and a non template strand on the DNA, hence a promoter orients the RNA polymerase into the right direction and the right strand. so that the protein formed would be the right one. am i right up to this point?

    my question is what happens to the non template strand? does it has no function at all except that it helps to stabilize the DNA molecule by base pairing?

    please reply asap, THANKS :D

  • math problem?

    Think of a 5-digit no. (e.g. 12345)

    rearrange it to get another number (e.g. 54321)

    in which the difference of both numbers must be divisible by 9.

    hence, prove that this is always true for any n-digit numbers..
