Multivariable Calculus Questions?
I'm on section 15.2 of James Stewart's Edition 6E: LIMITS AND CONTINUITY, PARTIAL DERIVATIVES, and EPSILON DELTA.
Limit as (x,y) approaches (0,0) of the functions:
• f(x,y)= (x^[2]ye^[y]) / (x^[4]+4y^[2]).
• g(x,y)= (x^[2]+y^[2]) / (sqrt(x^[2]+y^[2]+1)-1)
It is homework, but more importantly last-minute final review. Thanks.

What do I replace? It IS hardware, right? And replaceable? Or is it just normal?
thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade ago"P3, *sl 1 knitwise, k1 in st in row below next st, k2, pass sl st over 2 sts, p3, rep from * across." English
"P3, *sl 1 knitwise, k1 in st in row below next st, k2, pass sl st over 2 sts, p3, rep from * across."
Please tell me comprehensively what I am supposed to do. With some research I have come up with the following hypothesis, with the things I am unsure of capitalized:
purl 3 stitches, *slip 1 stitch WITH THE YARN IN BACK, knit 1 stitch FROM THE ROW UNDER THE NEXT STITCH, knit 2 stitches, pass THE SLIPPED STITCH over THE THREE STITCHES YOU JUST STITCHED (ONE OF WHICH WAS FROM THE ROW BELOW), purl 3, repeat from * across.
But if this is true:
•Won't I be adding a stitch by stitching the one below the next stitch?
•Won't it look super-weird when 1 stitch BELOW (i.e, on the row just before) is knit on the current row?
•Am I really passing 1 stitch over 3 stitches? (And is this, then, nonsymetrical; i.e, only going to the right?)
It's Row 4 of the body of this easy purse diagram:

6 AnswersSinging1 decade agoWhy does my rather old book smell like iodine?
I purchased a book that is out of print (I think) and rather old. I.e, the pages are yellowing.
It smells like iodine; pure iodine. I know this because I smelt iodine before in my chemistry set as a child, and it's an easy-to-remember smell. Did they use to use iodine in print pages? Do old pages wilt and give off iodine odor? Should I immediately stop reading the book (and stop inhaling iodine?)
I know I'm not supposed to inhale iodine, so please don't just tell me that.
1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoAnother Physics Question?
Also from Cutnell & Johnson 4th Ed.
The lob in tennis in an effective tactic when your opponent is near the net. It consists of lofting the ball over his head, forcing him to move quickly away from the net. Suppose that yu loft the ball with an initial speed of 15.0 m/s, at an angle of 50.0 degrees above the horizontal. At this instant your opponent is 10.0 m away from the ball. he begins moving away from you 0.30 s later, hoping to reach the ball and hit it back at the moment that it is 2.10 m above its lauch point. With what minimum average speed must he move? (Ignore the fact that he can stretch, so that his racket can reach the ball before he does.)
I've tried it using the
(y*=initial y value)
y=y*+v*t+.5at^2 and got t=32.18 or 3, using 2.1 for the y value.
Having obtained t, I went on to find x where y=2.1, but x=15sin(40)t-4.9t^2 which equals -4763 or -15 depending on which t value is used. This sucks; it means that I'm throwing the ball backwards!! HELP! tnx☺
1 AnswerPhysics1 decade agoAll of a sudden my computer's options are just 32 bit and 16 bit colors.?
Previously I had millions of colors. I've reverted everything, the monitor drivers are fine (and unchanged). I used windows system restore more than once and set it to a sooner date. I've obviously tried desktop settings-->resolution, but still 32 bit and 16 bit are my only choices. There are no update drivers for my monitor (though it's just a plug and play, so I'm sure there is no problem there).
Using Windows XP, with >100 gb of free space.
Integrated ATI radeon express 200
3500+ amd athlon 64 processor
Anyways, colors are weird and it's bothering me.
Thanks a bunch pplz

Explain why chlorine has a lower electron affinity value than sulfur, why phosphorous has a higher value than silicon, and why beryllium has a higher value than lithium.
Arrange the following atoms or ions in order of increasing size:

2 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoIn visual basic .net, how do I change an external program (internet explorer)'s webpage?
Sending TAB keys over and over again would be dull; can I change the address from my program externally? Actually, I would adore to learn how to do it internally, with a control from in my program. The control existed in VB6 and was very easy to work with, but I cannot find it in VB.net. I'm don't know how to make controls :-P Thank you for your help.
Yet besides, if it is an internal control which will control the webpage (which I would very much appreciate), tell me also how to send characters to it (like sendkeys would to with ie.) Thanks a lot.
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoWhen 60.0 milliliter of 3.0-molar K2CO3 is added to 40.0 milliliters of 1.0-molar KHCO3, see details?
When 60.0 milliliters of 3.0-molar K2CO3 are added to 40.0 milliliters of 1.0 molar KHCO3, what is the resulting concentration of K+?
I got 4M by adding .36 mols [in 60 mL of 3.0 M solution K2CO3] with .04 [in 40 mL 1 M KHCO3], which is .4 and dividing it by the amount of liters that would come out of it, [.04+.06=].1, which equals .4=.1=4. Please explain this to me even if I got it right. Thanks a lot!
