I was following the hearings the senate held about the Christmas bomber and terrorism. The highest officials for our security sat there and admitted they never had a plan on what methods to use to question a terrorist captured in the U. S. Are you kidding me? In what country did 9/11 happen? Not one of them nor anyone on their staff's ever thought of that possibility? These are the geniuses who are in charge of keeping us safe? Terrorist attacks aren't partisan, your answers shouldn't be either.

I'm a white, senior citizen, male who was born and raised in the north. I think Jimmy Carter was the most incompetent President we've had in my lifetime, that has served a full term of office. Does that make me a racist?

We're going to sell them fighter jets so they can defend themselves, which I don't have a problem with that idea. We're also going to sell them the technology and help them build 2 nuclear power plants, so they can provide electricity to more of their country and lower their carbon footprint. I think that's a very good idea. That exporting will bring money to our economy and also create jobs. What I'm confused about is this. We can assist India to build nuclear power plants to lower their carbon footprint, but we can't build any here. Instead we have to pass cap and trade, so we can raise the middle classes utility bills. If it's good enough for India, why isn't it just as good for us?

I worked in the cable tv industry for 25 yrs. starting in 72. I saw the transition from 3 major networks and possibly a few uhf channels to hundreds of cable stations with the advent of satellites. I've seen the growth of the 24/7 news industry. I was 15 when JFK was killed and 3 days of continual coverage on EVERY network. An assassinated president gets 3 days of coverage and a rock star warrants 10 days? I liked the Jackson 5 and most of Michael's later recordings, but seriously, wasn't 10 days of MJ coverage was over the top.?

I graduated in the mid sixties when basic math was taught. I do however, know how to do research. According the the latest figures I could find, there are 306 million people in the u.s.a. Let's round that off to 300 to keep it simple. 1% unemployment would be 3 million people. 9.5% people unemployed would be 28.5 million people. Again, according to the figures I've found there are 14.5 million people unemployed. There seems to be something wrong with the numbers.

I didn't vote for President Obama but, believe for the most part his cabinet picks should be approved. However, I don't feel someone who cheated on their own taxes should be in charge of the IRS. In this new era of bipartisanship how can only 3 democratic senators vote no? Your opinion please.
