  • What do I do about my sister?

I'm very close to my sister. She is married with no kids. I, however, have a family of my own. My sister loves her nephew to bits. She loves him so much, that she posts pictures online everytime we see each other. This makes me feel uncomfortable, especially since I do not know her friends on Facebook. Not only that, she also tags her husband -- who her hubby's friends are, I don't know. I just know that my little boy is seen by people I do not know.

Call it paranoia but I'm just really not comfy with this. A week ago, I asked her not to post so much pictures online -- but voila! She posted sooo much. I do not know how else to talk to her about this. She is a bit sensitive because I don't think she understands "privacy". She thinks I'm blowing it out of proportion.

How do I tell her not to (or limit) posting pictures in a nice way? I mean, I like it that she gets excited when she sees my son but I think this is too much. It also takes the excitement out when I start to post pix.

  • 4 month old doesn't want to sleep in his crib?

my 4 month old started sleeping in his crib when he turned 2 months. now that he's 4 months, he's always crying whenever we put him down in his crib -- but he likes sleeping in our bed! this set up is difficult for me as i have to make sure he isn't suffocating from our blanket or pillow. any advice on how to re-train him? is this just a phase?

also, he likes to be carried now more than ever! he would cry so loud when i don't do it. it's pretty tiring to have to carry a 20lb baby.

what should i do? i sometimes let him cry for a few minutes but eventually give in because i pity him.

    pls help me!

  • 3.5mos and really "healthy". should i be concerned?

my 3.5month old baby is really chubby. during his 2nd month check up, he was 16lbs @ 2ft! i know that's heavy. he is exclusively breastfed. sometimes i think he uses my breast to fall asleep. yesterday, i tried to weigh him...he's almost 20lbs. should i be alarmed with his weight gain?

btw, on his 2nd month check up, doctor said he will lose the weight once he starts crawling. i'm just concerned with his weight gain as of late.

  • Can you recommend good multivitamins for infants?

I've breastfed my 3 month old exclusively since he was born. As it turns out, breastmilk doesn't contain iron. So I've been feeding my boy his Polyvitamin drops everyday. However, the consistency is just too thick and the smell is awful. Everytime I feed him, he cries. I just pity him. Does anyone know of a good affordable brand here in the US? My brand is RX choice, and it costs about $3 a bottle. I've been looking at Target and all they have are the Enfamil $7 bottle (whoa!), which I wouldn't mind purchasing as long as the consistency isn't thick (like syrup) and the smell isn't bad.

Does anyone know of a good brand to give infants?

Thanks in advance for the help.

  • to cirumcize or not to?

my baby boy is due any day now. my hubby and are still discussing whether or not to have him circumcized. i grew up catholic so it's been a belief that to be "clean" you have to be circumcized.

since i moved to the US, i've changed my mind though. i want to leave the decision to my son when he is older, a decision he might never even have to make if he doesn't want to.

i'm just torn, pretty much, between what i've gotten used to and how my family would react -- not that it should matter. we're his parents anyway.

anyone out there who faced this? what did u do?

  • Anyone out there who tested positive for Group B Strep?

I'm so upset. I found out today that I tested positive for the Group B Strep. I'm on my 36th week now and I'm freaking out! After all the research I've done, I know the cause is not something I did -- it just happens. I'm so upset and scared that my baby will get infected. I know with medical advancement, it can get treated but I can't help but feel scared.

Anyone here who's had this but the baby came out fine? I need to lift up my spirits.

  • How to go about making paella?

My husband loves paella and I want to make it for him for Christmas. I just want to know if I need to use a paella pan to make it? Or can I use the usual cooking pans?

I live in Northern CA. Aside from Trader Joe's, what other grocery stores would sell Paella rice? (preferably Bomba or Arborio)

Shopping online for rice is my last resort.

Oh, if you could give any advice when cooking paella, it would be appreciated!

    Thanks for your help!

  • ttc, ovulation and brownish bleeding (tmi, sorry)?

So hubby and I have been trying for more than a year now. My doctor put me on Provera, as I have irregular periods as long as I can remember. I took it from Sep 1 to 5 and got my period from Sep 7 till the 10th.

I have been taking my BBT religiously and using OPK -- both of which didn't indicate that I ovulated. Still, hubby and I have had unprotected sex every other day (just in case).

4 days ago (Sep 16), I've been feeling cramps on my left abdominal side. For 2 days now, I've been seeing blood (brownish) on my panties. I do not know what all these mean. Is it something I should be concerned about? Should I see the doctor asap?

Need advice. Thanks for your help!

  • Difficulties getting Clomid?

My hubby and I have been ttc for over a year now. I have irregular periods, which make it hard for me to know if I'm ovulating.

My Gyn has prescribed Provera to me to make my periods regular. However, I want to get on Clomid but she can't prescribe it to me -- she says only a fertility specialist can do that. To see one, I need to pay at least $600 (my Kaiser insurance doesn't cover it). I don't want to buy Clomid online for obvious reasons.

Is there anyone that can help me with this?

    Thanks so much!

  • TTC and feel like giving up?

Me and my hubby have been ttc for over a year and i feel like giving up. My periods are irregular. We have been to an infertility talk. I was so ecstatic after that talk, only to be disappointed again. My insurance doesn't cover fertility treatments. I cried so much and now I'm just plain tired, tired of all the BBT, HPT, OPK to no success. I'm on Provera now so my periods come every month but after this, I don't know what to do anymore. It's so frustrating knowing you can be a good mother yet you have no baby to be a mother to.

I am a housewife, my husband is the only one working so you can understand why we don't have money to burn.

I'm just so lonely. I feel like giving up.

  • Provera question - AF and conception?

My hubby and I have been TTC for over a year now. I have irregular periods (ranging from 6-10wks). My doctor put me on Provera. Today is 4th day (i'm to take 1tablet for the first 5 days of the month for 3 months). I know I'm supposed to get my AF after about a week or so. I understand that this will make me bleed on a more regular basis. I want to know how can I get pregnant if this will make me bleed every month? I am a little confused. Please help me.

Thanks and baby dust to everyone ttc.

  • Ttc for a year. Questions on ovulation and fertility?

My husband and I have been trying ttc for a year now. We opted not to do fertility treatments (not yet anyway). We want to do it the natural way before resorting to the treatments. This is our first time to use Ovulation Predictor kits. I need help in understanding a few points. My questions are:

    1) When is the best time to have intercourse? Is it when you are

    fertile or when you ovulate?

    2) I read that a 28day cycle ovulates somewhere between Days 11-21

of your LMP. If after the 21st day and still no (+) on ovulation,

should I stop using the ovulation predictor kit and wait for my next

period? Or should I keep using it? (I have my periods irregularly; i

    get it every 6-10wks)

I really appreciate any form of enlightenment on this matter. Thanks!!

  • When should he ask for a raise?

My husband has been working in a law firm for a little under a year. Aside from getting the worst health insurance in the office, he also has the lowest salary too. Since he is the newest addition in that position and had no previous experience in that position, that is understandable. He is performing very well and is making good money for the firm. When is it proper to ask for a raise?

  • MMR Vaccine?

I had my MMR vaccine yesterday. I was told to avoid getting pregnant in the next 3months. However, when I looked online, it said that pregnancy should be avoided only in the next 28 days and not 3 months. I wonder why I was told the latter. What will happen if I get pregnant within the 28 days they told me to avoid?

I also know someone pregnant who got her MMR shot more than 20 yrs ago. What will happen if that was the case? Is this bad for the mom and the baby?

  • hypothyoidism?

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It wasn't anything major -- totally treatable.

Now, I'm happy to say that my thyroid level has normalized. I have been off meds for the past 4months, so I don't know what I'm doing right. Is there anything I should eat to maintain my normal thyroid level?
