2 AnswersTheater & Acting8 years agoShort film audition - need advice :)?
hi :)
I have a short film audition and would love it if you could give me some advice (first time auditioning for a short film)
i asked if i had to prepare for a monologue, but they said no.
does that mean it could be cold reading or something else?
plus there is no character breakdown.it says daughter aged 15-17, do i just need to build a character for that role? (They are also looking for a mother and father too as well)
and any generals do's and DON'TS if you want that would help
thanks everyone so much
In addition: (was from Mandy.com and I have researched the company & director and it is legit)

2 AnswersTheatre & Acting8 years agoHow would you work out 17 divided by COS 50? Help :O?
I tried it on a scientific calculator, but it doesn't give the right answer when I try 17 divided by COS 50. Is there another way of doing this equation in a different way, because my calculator does not work like that.
- It is for trigonometry

4 AnswersMathematics8 years agoIs this good feedback from an audition?
they gave me two takes. the first one they told me to do was to make a movement slower and more expressive.
then after the second tape the director said they liked how i took direction.
is this good feedback, or was i expected to achieve more. i just wanted to know how i could improve for my next audition and what directors look for.
thanks everyone! xx
1 AnswerPerforming Arts8 years agoHelp! How do you act drunk on stage? :)?
This is something I do struggle with a lot. I have never been drunk before, but I need to do it for a scene. My group says I can do it, but I need to be 'more drunk'. So what are the certain things you do when you act drunk. For example, eye contact, facial expressions, and how you would stand on stage.
Thanks very much everyone!

2 AnswersTheater & Acting8 years agoQuestion on a person's 'playing' age?
Hi,
I have a question on a person's playing age, as you can see. I have looked at some agencies sites and seen their clients, and some have a playing age from 15-17, to 16-25! If I was 22, could I play a 15/16 year old, e.g, 15-23. I'm sorry I do not have a photo up, but people have told me that I look quite younger than I show.
Physical details:
Height - 5 foot 2
I just wanted to know if it is possible a person could play a younger role, as a 22 year old. For example, a playing age of 15-22. And is it possible you play an age, e.g. 12-18 when actually you are 32, and your actual age is not in that category.
Thanks everyone! I might have waffled slightly, but thank you!
3 AnswersTheatre & Acting8 years agoWhat is the maxinum distance to travel to an audition?
Normally I travel between 30 mins - 2 hours to get to an audition. What is the maxinum distance to get to an audition for a role anyway, in your opinion?
6 AnswersTheatre & Acting8 years agoLeaving an agency...:(?
I just wanted to enquire some things if I ever do leave my agency
1) If you leave, do they need to send any material back to me (e.g headshots) or not?
2) How do leave an agency?
3) When is the right time - For example, after a year when you re-do your headshots?
Thanks everyone!
2 AnswersTheatre & Acting8 years agoCan I have two agencies? And what are the benefits and negatives?
I was just wondering whether I am entitled for two agencies? (Kid and teen agencies) Plus I have some Q's.
1) If I have spotlight, do I have to pay for 2 spotlight profiles for two agencies?
2) Do I have to pay for a separate headshot for the other agency, if I already have one?
3) Will it in some way increase my chance of getting acting jobs?
Thank you for reading. I am just really puzzled about it.
3 AnswersTheater & Acting9 years agoIs being an extra worth it in this scenario?
Hi everyone!
I went to a commercial for a young girl, for a successful legal firm (CTS solictors), and sadly I didn't get the role. But they offered me to be an extra in the same ad, as a young girl in a classroom. They are also paying £60 for it. Would it be worth doing it, in terms of money (:D) and mainly experience? It is from a good, proffessional company, then would not being an extra with pay be good experience?
Thanks guys! :)
2 AnswersTheater & Acting9 years agoWhat do you do at a TV Commercial audition? 10 POINTS :)?
This is my first proper audition! It's a non-speaking commercial, so more emphasis is on facial/visual expression. They stated not to bring any reading material, but there will be a screen test so I may be filmed? I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me what happens in a TV commerical audition, in particular a non-speaking role.
Thanks everyone! :)
Extra details:
Younger girl role - 11 to 14
1 AnswerTheatre & Acting9 years agoGeneral Studies and University? Worried :/?
Hi, I want to do a primary teaching course at university. However on some of the sites it says - AS Levels - not acceptable, and at A Level - General Studies is not acceptable. For AS I'm taking General Studies, English Lit, Media and Drama. I am at A2 Level dropping general studies anyway. But would universities still accept me if I have to take General Studies at AS, but I'm not gonna take it as a full A Level?
I'm really scared cus I really want to do primary teaching course. So what do you think? i'm not gonna take General Studies as full A Level anyway, just AS. But will they still accept me? xD

1 AnswerTheater & Acting9 years agoWanting to be a primary teacher :) but...?
Wanting to be a primary teacher (age 7-11 or more depending on the school) but do I have the right qualifications?
For GCSE, I got A's in English, and B's in Maths and Sciences.
For AS i'm doing English lit, history, Media and Drama, yet might quit media or drama at end of year 12.
So far are these qualifications alright to become a primary teacher? And could I take a teaching course at uni with these?
Thanks very much guys!
