I am a glider pilot in training. My goal in life is to fly helicopters for the Canadian Armed Forces. I am an Air Cadet, and through the program I will get both my glider, and personal power pilot wings. (If you're Canadian, you should check out the program, you can get your leagal pilots licence for private pixed wing aircraft, and a glider licence!)

  • Setting up a Computer liquid cooling system?

I'm looking into putting together my own computer. Dust can have adverse effects on computer components, and although there are risks associated with liquid cooling systems, I would like to have an airtight chassis, and have the entire computer liquid cooled. Are there existing setups or kits that I could look into? Is there a problem with having a system only liquid cooled?

Any insight into this would be greatly apreciated. Thanks for the help!

  • Programs minimize by themselves? IT answers appreciated!?

Whilst playing a full screen game, it will randomly minimize with no input from myself or any other visible cause. Whilst watching movies in full screen, (avi player), the taskbar (at the bottoom of the screen with the start button on it), will apear, again for no reason.

My girlfriend has recently begun downloading trial games crammed with adware, against my advice. If it's any help, the games are from something called "iWin Games", which keeps installing "Click Potato" which I keep removing.

    Thanks for your time!

  • What are the chances of a woman getting pregnant?

Not while on her period, not using a condom, and not on birth control.

What is the percentage chance of a woman getting pregnant during natural, contraceptive free sex.

She's not ovulating, and not on her period. Just the plain, unaltered chances of becoming pregnant.

    (I can't find any odds)

Idiot Proof: If I were to bet on a woman getting pregnant every time she had regular birth-control free sex, what would be the safer bet?

  • Helicopter Pilots/Fixed Wing Pilots please answer!?

I want to become a helicopter pilot, but my dad is reluctant to pay for flight school because he is concerned about my "mechanical aptitude". I'm aware that pilots need to know about engines and the various problems that may occur in them, as I am studying flight, but he seems to think I need to know how to take the engine apart and put it back together.

I know that could be a valuable skill, but pilots aren't allowed to fix their own aircraft without a mechanic license, which I'm not getting, and I highly doubt I will be stepping out of the aircraft mid flight to fix it.

Do I really need THAT much mechanical know how? I think the answer is no, but I don't KNOW, which is why I'm here.

As a side question, will getting my private license and then my commercial license save me money in the long run? (or short?)

    Thankyou for your time!

  • What is a 'figure' when you're talking about income?

I've hear people say things like, "He's making a six figure income".

What is a figure in relation to income? Is it a measurement? Is it some sort of scale that pay is compared to?

I can't find any definitions on the web, so any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou very much for your time!

  • There are spiders in my scooter, and I need them gone, poison ideas?

I have a swarm of yellow garden spiders in my electric scooter.

    Target Spiders: http://silenceoftheclams.com/blog/wp-content/uploa...

    Scooter: http://productsindia.in/wp-content/uploads/2010/03...

Those are pictures of the spiders, and a scooter similar to mine. They're inside underneath the front seat compartment. I need to get rid of them, to avoid having them crawl all over me while I'm driving. (Probably resulting in an accident).

I'd like to avoid damage to the bike. (such as electrical, etc.)

I need them gone asap. Thanks for the help!

  • Electricity consumption of a Laptop?

A laptop can either run off its' battery, then charge, or with a full charge run right off the incoming power when plugged in.

So, my question is, what would be cheaper:

Running your laptop on its' battery, then charging it.

    -or-

    Running your laptop plugged in.

  • Lock-picking in Canada, and legal issues concerning the afore mentioned?

Possession of lock-picks in Canada falls under the same laws as hammers and crowbars, being that they are not illegal to posses unless they are used, or intended for use in criminal activity. Therefore, you can own and use lock-picks with the obvious exception of using them to break and enter.

    My question is;

Is it illegal to unlock something via lock-picking, without entering? Example: If you were a skilled or even amature lock-pick, is it legal to practice on foriegn property? Could you unlock your neighbours back door, without being charged?

Now, I can pretty much assure myself that this is an illegal act, and therefore am more interested in WHAT that charge would be. Would you be charged with breaking and entering, if you didn't enter? Would it be tresspassing? Would you be charged with destruction of private property, even though lock-picking doesn't damager the lock? Is there some sort of tampering charge in place? Is there an endangering charge?

Thanks for all answers. Lawyers would be apreciated, or even answers from police officers.

Note: I don't intend to do any of the above, I'm just interested in how it would be viewed, since it doesn't interfere with any laws I am aware of.

    -Sneezing

    -Watery eyes

It's be becomming a nusance. I think it's at its' worst in the morning, but I usually get it all day. But there are some problems:

    -No known allergies

    -No trigger (pollen, dust, etc)

-No season (I have it year round)

Also, it might be important to note that my nose seems to be sensative to any climate change. Hot to cold, cold to hot, it all sends me into a fit of sneezing, runny, stuffy badness.

  • Helicopter Flight school in Canada?

I'm trying to avoid the military in my quest to fly helicopters. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of any respected flight schools with a good program. I'd like to keep it in Ontario, but anywhere in Canada is fine.

I'm currently only aware of Canadore as a really good flight school. (If they aren't, please advise)

  • Can you rhyme in other languages?

I was thinking about how rhymes work in the english language, for some reason, then got to wondering whether or not you could rhyme in other languages. English is my first and only language, so I'm really interested in finding out if rhyming is unique to English.

If other languages do rhyme, it would be greatly appreciated if you would provide an example. (with how to pronounce it properly, and maybe a translation?)

Thanks internet, have a good day!

  • Why does everybody around me seem so dumb?

I'm only 17, and yet, most people I meet (both my age, and adults), seem so... well, stupid! All the people I meed in my generation are always drinking, and sometimes even getting themselves killed! Just last week a boy in my town was killed, because he was sitting on a couch in the back of a pick-up-truck, and was thrown out.

Nobody I know wants to learn. Whenever you try to teach them something, especially in class, they get upset. UPSET! There was even a student in my class who was upset that he didn't know what we were LEARNING and wanted the teacher to teach us things we ALREADY KNEW!!!

Please! For the love of mankind, tell me it gets better! Please tell me that normal humans aren't this stupid. Honestly, whenever I'm around people, I feel like I'm some sort of genius. I know I'm not, and I still have much to learn, but I feel like I'm above everyone else I know. Not in a simple 'better than you' way, but an 'I don't belong with these people' way.

I don't drink (adn I never will), and I'll also never do any sort of illegal drug. I'm pretty sure this is just in my town, but do people drink just to get drunk? That's all anyone does where I come from, "I'm getting wasted this weekend!". It just seems so... It's like everyone around me is mentaly handicapped. (excluding the actually mentally handicapped people).

I just can't take it. I need to know if this is what my whole life will be like.

Did you ever watch the movie "Idiocracy"? That's my life. I'm the one normal, average guy.

Don't lie, tell me humans aren't as stupid as I think they are. :'(

  • Military Helicopter Licensing?

Whenever I ask about becoming a helicopter pilot, everybody tell me to go to the military. (I live in Canada, so Canadian references would help).

I've heard stories where people go to the military for various types of training, and get forced into something else. Hell if this is going to happen to me. If anyone is ex/Canadian Military, I need your help!

How does job selection work? Do you sign up, then pick a job? Or do you apply for a job in the military with a chance to say no?

I want to join as a helicopter pilot, because there's no way I can accomplish my goal any other way. All I know so far, is that you have to go to University to be an officer (preferably RMC), and you need to be an officer to fly.

I need to know if there's any chance I can be promised training, and a job as a pilot, then not get it, or be trained for it, and moved to something else.

Also, and I haven't heard much about this, but It's my understanding that if you get your helicopter license through the military, it's a military license, and you need to convert it to commercial, if you want a civilian job. ANY information on this would be greatly appreciated, such as if a military license is different in any way, or if it even exists.

I understand that the aviation world is very small, even smaller within the military, but that's my world, and I need to know if anybody is going to stop me from getting there.

I would really appreciate responses from any helicopter pilots, military or not. I'd also like to hear from anyone who's had good or bad experiences with the military.

(Keep in mind I live in Canada)

    Thankyou for your time,

    To-Be helicopter pilot,

    Chuck

  • How do you tell a crazy person they're crazy?

I've known this girl for a while now. We dated for a few years until she left me for some jerk. The jerk got her pregnant, and she had a baby. It was put up for adoption and adopted by said jerks relatives. A year passed and she dated me for one year. Cheated on me once with above jerk, then broke up with me because she was moving to college, and "college is more fun single". See where I'm getting at?

She goes to college and for the first week has sex with all the guys she just met... every day.

She called me tonight because she declined a ride home and is going to miss her sons birthday tomorrow. This has her completely distressed. She has a history of suicidal thoughts and some minor attempts.

Being the ever compassionate person that I am, I fear for her physical and mental well being. She usually makes irrational decisions and I fear she may have some sort of dysfunction.

I've been in contact with her and it seems whatever she's suffering from is getting worse. Typical college student problems such as drinking and partying effect her more than they should.

My question is... how do I get her to realize she needs help? I've already helped her identify that drinking and partying are effecting her only negatively. (She insisted drinking was good somehow...).

But I know there's a bigger picture, and so far I've avoided trying to tell her that she has some sort of mental problem, because that NEVER goes over well.

Can anybody, preferably a doctor or psychiatrist, give me any advice?

  • Trapping with pregnancy illegal?

I was reading through some questions, and noticed allot of young girls looking for ways to "trap" guys and trick them into marrying them by getting pregnant.

Methods such as poking holes in condoms, or getting the guy really drunk. This is really shallow and unfair, as guys in to days society have a "duty" to stick with a girl they get pregnant.

I was wondering if it's illegal to entrap somebody like this, and how you would prove that you were indeed entraped.

Does anyody know, or have you had any similar experiences?

Note: Some of the girls I've read about have been as young as 13 or 14.

    (Scary **** huh guys?)
