My son finished mechanic's school, was hired by Volvo and is getting ready to complete their specialized training program in about a month. I'd like to get him a nice mechanic's tool set to start him off on his career, but the choices vary so greatly when it comes to tools. Of course there are Snap-On, and I understand they are the best...but they are the price of a vehicle themselves, hahaha. So I would like to ask any mechanics out there, what is a good second choice behind Snap-On to get my son started. I asked my son, but he is appreciative of anything and just answers, "anything would be great to start." Any suggestions of a good solid set that will last him until he is able to slowly build up a Snap-On collection over time? Thanks :)

My son is working on a 1965 Barracuda Commando. The original rims are still on it but the tires can be difficult to find (7X13 rim). We are considering getting him a new set of rims and tires for his birthday, but are unsure of the wheel bolt pattern and a good tire size for his car. Would anyone be able to suggest a good size rim and tire for the 65 Cuda? Also would you know the wheels bolt pattern to insure we purchase the proper wheels? We know we could simply take the car into a tire shop, but he uses it for a daily driver and we would like to surprise him for his birthday. Thanks

I have an Iphone 4 that wont charge. However, when I plug it into the wall charger, computer or car charger it shows that it is 100% charged. Once I remove it from the charger (any of them) it shows the battery is empty. Has anyone had this problem and can you help with a solution? I have tried a full restore, hard reboot, etc. Nothing fixes this problem. Thanks you.

My son has asked for a "Gaming Laptop" for Xmas. I looked at some laptops and really have no idea what specifically separates a gaming laptop from a standard laptop. Can someone help with some advice? Thanks

Hello. When I work out I plug my earphones into my iphone 3G to use it as an ipod. The last few times I have used it, the external speaker stops working after I unplug the earphones. However, it I go into settings and adjust the ringer volume, the speaker will play the chime as it is supposed to. But still, the speaker will not work in regular mode for incoming calls or text alerts. After a few hours it usually starts working again, but I would like to find a solution to the problem. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so, what was the solution? Thanks

Hello. I am restoring a 65 Barracuda Commando. My carb need some work and is the original carb that came with the car. I was trying to decide whether to replace the carb or rebuild the original. Do any classic car guys have any suggestions vs rebuild vs replace? Also, if I go with a replacement are there and suggestions that would be compatible with the 65 Cuda? Thanks

I'm having a little trouble identifying which carburetor kit would be the proper one to rebuild my carb. The carb is from a 1965 Barracuda Commando. It is a Carter 4 Barrel AFB with the markings of "D8 5980S" and "7-235". I was told it is the original carb to the car. When I run a check multiple kits come up, all looking different from one another. It would be helpful if perhaps someone could confirm that this is in fact the original carburetor used for a 65 Barracuda, the proper Carb Kit to purchase and any advice one can give for a father/son project we are doing together. Ok, my daughter is in crisis :/ Her iphone 4 is stuck on the low battery screen and won't budge. We have tried to restore through itune and it comes up as an error and says it can not complete restore. Other than trying to restore the phone, it will not leave the low battery screen. The iphone is jailbroke and unlocked to use with t-mobil. As anyone expienced this and what is the solution to get it to work properly? We have tried a hard restart but that doesn't work either. I need to replace the clutch on my car. It takes a 10" clutch. Are clutch kits made car specific or will any kit with a 10" clutch work? Thanks

I am restoring a 1965 Barracuda. The car starts right up, no problem. But has problems starting to move. The clutch has to be let out almost completely before it will catch and begin to move, then it will slowly catch and go. Definitely no fast race starts. It has no problems changing gears, going into gear, no grinding, etc. It's just the clutch having to be let almost completely out before it starts very sluggish. It does this both in 1st and Reverse...when the car is at a stand still. I'm also guessing that the car will do it between other gears as well but you can;t feel it since the car is already rolling and moving. Has anyone had any experience with something similar with their car and what was the solution? Thank you

Hello, my Canon 30D had a shutter button that was beginning to not work property (it had about a second delay before it would release the shutter). Rather than replacing the shutter button, I purchased an Opteka Battery Grip with a vertical shutter button built in. It initially worked great for the first day...no problems. Then today I was taking actions shots and the Opteka grip begun triggering the shutter without me pushing the button. I know it is the grip triggering the camera because when I turn the power to the grip off it no longer has that problem. I was just shooting with a 1 second delay which is a pain when taking sports action shots. Has anyone had a similar issues with an Opteka (or other brand) battery grip triggering the shutter? And if so, how did you solve it? Thank you

My wife and I both live in California. We seperated approximately 1 1/2 years ago but always remained close and in contact since the seperation and filing for divorce. The divorce was filed solely due to the inability to blend families and we constatly talked about our ability to make it work despite the divorce filing having been made. We recently decided to see counseling, figure out how to blend the families now that the kids are a little older and more mature, and to commit to saving the marriage. However, we still have the filed divorce hanging over our heads which is something that is very unsettling. I can't find anything in regards to closing out a California divorce should the parties change their mind and no longer want the divorce. Can anyone one give any assistance in regards to closing out the divorce proceedings? Thank you.

I am a 41 year old, 6'3". 225lb male. I work out in the gym daily, run 3-4 miles a day, and eat healthy. I am in fit shape and often am told that I am thin and need to put weight on. Most people are surprised when I tell them that I weigh 225lbs. However, when I look on the body weight index scales my height and weight combination comes up as overweight. I know from past experience that when I drop below 220lbs I begin to not feel well physically. My problem is that I'd like to find a realistic weight scale that accounts for someone that does have muscle mass. I can't find any scales other than the BMI which says that I should weight approx 175lbs, which is an impossibility considering my body type and muscle mass. Does anyone else have this problem and are there any scales that account for an athletic build? Thanks

I just installed a DVD/CD Drive into my Dell desktop computer. It recognized it, doesn't troubleshoot any problems through the computer, but when I try to play a music cd it is slightly distorted, almost like there is a slight pause in the music every 3-4 second. Has anyone had a similar issue when installing a dvd/cd drive in a desktop and what is the solution? This is being used as the secondary drive in the computer. The primary drive works fine. Hello, and thank you for your help in advance. I have a 2006 Mustang GT that runs great, lots of power, and has about 85,000 miles. Of course it has a nice engine growl and makes some noise; however at about 1900=2100rpm it gets exceptionally loud. The noise level is fine up to about 1900rpm and will go back down again at about 2100rpm. But from 1900-2100 it is substantially higher. There is no performance interference, it is just the really high noise level. It gets loud at this RPM level regardless of the gear it is in. If anyone can help with a diagnosis as well as a possible fix, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2006 BMW 525i sport edition that decided it didn't want to run correctly this morning. It's always been a fantastic car, but when I started it this morning the engine shook like crazy (felt almost like it needs engine mounts...that much shaking) and the engine light came on. I decided to take it for a short drive to see what else it was doing. When trying to accelerate it feels like it is pulling, like it isn't getting fuel or perhaps an exhaust component is blocked. When I come to a stop the idle dropped real low as if the car is going to cut off but then the RPM jumps back up and the car stays on...but it still shakes and idles very rough.

I tried the stomp test to get the diagnosis code, but apparently my car doesn't have that feature. If you are familiar with BMWs and have an idea of what these symptoms could signify, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you.

Hello and in advance thank you for your help. My wife and I are still in the process of divorce, only the final uncontested paperwork needs to be filed, as she did not respond to the filing. I filed for divorce a little over a year ago. We agreed that I would quit deed the house over to her under the conditions that she refiance the house under her own name. The mortgage company instructed us that this would need to be done to process her as a sole person on a refiancing. I quit deeded the house, my wife tried to refiance but was denied. Since she could not complete the agreement I asked her to quit deed 50% of the property back to me; however she refused claiming that it was now hers depite her inability to refiance and my ramaining on the mortgage loan. My divorce filing clearly states that she was to refiance the property in her own name and relieve me from any financial liability as a term of the agreement. The divorce is still not complete. How do I alert the court that she di dnot complete her part of the agreement and have the property now divided 50-50%? Do I need to submit an admendment to the FL100 or do I reflect the noncompliance on the uncontested judgement and request the division of property?

This is in California. My wife and I are going through a divorce. As part of the agreement I quit claimed the house to her so that she can refinance it under her own name and take full liability for the loans. However, she failed to qualify and therefore she has full ownership of the property, yet I am still on the loan. Now she is asking for my assistance to refinance the loan under HARP as doing so would save $600 off of the mortgage payment. However, to my understanding, since I now have no property interest in the house, due to the quit claim, I can not participate in the refinance unless I am restored onto the property deed. Is my understanding of this correct?

I going through a divorce in California that I filed for. My ex and I came to agreements peacefully and I drafted up the paperwork. One of the conditions of the divorce was that she would get the house, I would sign a quit deed giving her full ownership and that she would refinance and assume full financial responsibility. The final divorce paperwork has not been submitted yet to finalize the divorce. I completed my part of the agreement by providing her a quit deed granting her full ownership. However, according to her, she did not qualify for a refinance and thus my name remains on all of the finance documents. I informed my ex that she needed to now submit a quit deed signing over 50% ownership of the home into my name per community property law as she didn't complete her part of the divorce settlement. My ex refuses to claiming that she now has full rights to the house, will not sign it over and has no intentions of refinancing to take my name off of the loan paperwork. My question is, since the divorce is not complete yet, am I able to file an amendment to the divorce filing stating she hasn;t complied, and therefore I would like to be awarded 50% on the house deed? Or do I have to complete the divorce and file a new lawsuit for breech of contract?
