My Denon DVM1805 works extremely well... except for on the occasions I rent a New Line Cinema movie. Both, Rush Hour 3 & The Sickhouse from New Line have the "copy lock" symbol followed by the note "This DVD is copy protected and may be played only on licensed devices."

Rush Hour 3 will play on my computer and Sickhouse will not.

Both refuse to load on the Denon.

(I cleaned the laser eye.)

Is it a setting on my player I'm having problems with or is it the format of the DVD or is it a player licensing issue?

My wife and I have to meet today with my step daughters dad and step mother. As a h/s senior of 17 she has been sneaking around and seeing a 22 year old DJ with a reputation for chasing young girls. She gets B's in school and is never in trouble but this is over the limit for us.

I'm thinking of just showing how this could affect her life negatively and/or taking the evidence to the cops.

What would you do?

The local instrument repair service in Oakland, CA wants $500 to fix an $1100.00 flute (ouch) so I found Murali Inc. online who will do it for $295.

In order to get my house in order to better withstand the coming inflationary period, I am refinancing my house to minimize outgo.

Does it make sense to take the 30 year, 6.25% fixed or pay $6,400 more to get a 30 year 5.75% fixed. The savings will be $93.00 per month on the payment plus $27.00 more to principal... a total of $120.00 real savings from the 5.75% but it will take 54 months to amortize the $6,400 additional cost for the lower rate. I am in a high foreclosure area so the prices won't be bouncing back for 3 - 5 years and I'll probably be here for at least 5 more years.

I live in California and have never been asked for ID to vote. I just give them my name, they check the list or registered voters, and I vote.

Why don't we have our employers, or source of any other income we receive, send 100% of it to the US Government and let the government keep what it needs to pay for whatever it wants and just send the balance to us each in a monthly check of the same amount.
