Can i keep some of my roommates security deposit?
I got a roommate from craigslist 4 months ago. she seemed normal and nice at the time. but as weeks went by i realized that we didn't click. she has no respect for me my landlord or the apartment. she has never cleaned any common areas in the apartment. I've lived here for 2 years and have never had a problem with mice and just the other day we started seeing them. i asked her to clean up, and i went away for a week and when i came back noting was cleaned up. and she had left crumbs on the counter.
She is moving out in a couple of days (thank god) but I'm pretty sure she isn't going to clean anything. how do i go about holding part of her security for damages/ cleaning?
