  • What is a good way to lose weight quickly?

I am 13 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, and overweight. I'd like to lose weight, but my schedule makes it hard to exercise as I have activities almost every day after school, along with regular school/homework. That being said, what are good ways to lose weight while only exercising about one to two days each week?

  • Does freezing warts hurt?

I have quite a few warts. There is one on my right thumb, three on my right index finger, one on my left middle finger, one on my left index finger, and several small ones on my left thumb (I believe ten, but it's hard to count them). My grandmother says I should have them frozen to remove them, but my pain tolerance is very, very low. So, does freezing warts hurt? How long does it take to fall off? What's the process?

  • What is your advice for someone who wants to be an author?

I am thirteen years old, and love to write. I am actually working on a novel now, but, me being thirteen, it doesn't seem like it will turn out well. I would like to publish a novel before I am sixteen, but I really just want to write, and write well.

So, what's your advice for an amateur writer? What should I do when I write? What are some useful tips I could use? Any and all feedback is appreciated

  • Will you give me opinions on a prologue for a fantasy novel?

In the novel I am currently writing a fantasy novel. In my prologue, I am explaining how the main character's village acquired the dragon egg that starts the events. I have two different ways I could start the prologue:

Option #1) A simple explanation of the events leading up to the main story. I basically say "this happened, and then this happened." Very simple prologue.

Option #2) A mini story. While it will be short, it will still have plot. More complex prologue.

Please share your opinions on which prologue would be better.

  • I would like opinions on the fantasy story I am working on. Please read what I have below and give your opinion.?

Gwenivere: A rebellious and stubborn 16 year old with a feisty personality. She has lived in the village of Stonegate for her entire life.

Reynard: The protective storyteller and mentor of Gwen. He wishes for her to have a normal life, but knows this won't be possible. He can sense the power she possesses. He is 60 years old, and has lived in the village for 16 years. He is the former king. He and the queen lived in a small town name Palette and moved to Stonegate after the queen gave birth to Gwen, claiming she was an orphan they adopted from Palette.

Amethi: This is the dragon that hatches from the egg, which Gwen caused to open. She is very protective of Gwen and cares for her allies.

Emeline: The elf queen who, along with her people, has been in hiding for nearly 3 decades. She is wise and kind, but can be stubborn, much like Gwen.

The ceremonial amethyst stone used during the cermony of 16 is actually a dragon egg. The tradition of touching the stone has lasted for centuries, but nobody's touch has yet caused the egg to hatch. In Gwen's ceremony of 16, the egg hatches after she touches it. Reynard soon explains the history of dragons, and encourages Gwen to go on a journey to find the rebel group planning to overthrow the evil king. After Reynard and Gwen find the rebels, the leader asks Gwen to go to the elf kingdom to convince Emeline, the queen to join the fight. The novel will end with the queen and Gwen returning to the rebel group only to find it under attack.

  • Fantasy story plot-line help?

I want to be an author. I am currently a twelve year old who has a reading level of upper college material and writes on a high school level. I love the fantasy genre, so that is what I want to write.

I have some of my characters sorted out, so I'll tell you about those:

Gwenivere (Gwen) is the main character who finds a dragon egg. She is sixteen and 5 foot 6 inches tall, with shoulder length brunette hair and blue eyes.

Amethi is Gwen's dragon. She has scales of a dark purple color. She is also very protective of Gwen and I hope to show their bond strongly as the book progresses.

Emeline is the elf-queen who has been in hiding for almost two decades.

That is basically all I have. I, of course, don't want any of you to write the book for me. I would just like to know what you, as readers, would enjoy seeing in a fantasy/dragon novel. I do plan on making somewhat like Eragon and the rest of the books of the Inheritance Cycle. Any suggestions for characters or a plot will be much appreciated and, should the book ever be published, I will give you credit.

    Thanks in advance.
