To My American Interneters: Who do you think has rightful sovereignty over the Falkland Islands?
I'm interested on the general US opinion on this matter.
Should it be the UK (my country) or Argentina?
P.S. Much as I think complete independence would be desirable, it wouldn't really be viable for the Falklands. They don't really have the capacity to survive as independent nation as they don't have the defence and military capabilities to ensure their security.
13 AnswersPolitics9 years agoAn alien invasion film where the aliens are never actually seen?
My Dad was trying to remember the name of this film. It was an alien film where the aliens are never actually shown on screen. They are seen doing things to people like dragging them down stairs and such like but never depicted themselves. It was an old film he said.
Not much to go on I know but I was wondering if anyone was familiar with it.
Thanks.
2 AnswersMovies10 years agoDo you think in 30-50 years time history students will be studying the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt etc.?
Just thought it might be quite likely, you might get questions like "How far do you agree that oppressive military rule was responsible for the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt in late 2010 and early 2011?"
3 AnswersHistory1 decade agoWhy aren't there laws preventing discrimination against Travellers and Gypsies?
Racism and discrimination seems to be alive and well in the UK when directed towards the Romany and Irish Travellers and so forth. They are a proud people with a rich and distinct culture and yet everyone seems to accept discrimination against them and the government does nothing to help them or include them in anti-discrimination laws. They have restricted their ancient right to free movement and they are constantly stereotyped as thieves and so forth, their camps are frequently forced to move or are demolished and they seem to have hardly any standing under the law.
Why aren't there more legal rights that ensure secure rights for Travellers and Gypsies??
3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoWhat class am I? (In England)?
I was wondering where I come in the Great British Class system. I'm a 2nd year at a state six form college, my parents are a primary school music teacher and head teacher. My mother's from East London - quite a working class background, my father is from South London - lower middlish class background. We all have relatively common accents. I live in a 9 room semi-detached house (not incl toilets) (4 bedrooms) both my parents have had some sort of university education (although with my mother it was just teacher training ), both my siblings are at university and it is likely I will go as well (depending on whether I can get a place or not) We're not that well off and are quite in debt. My parents have a collective income of abt. 75,000 a year - my mother abt. 25,000, my father abt. 50,000.
So what class am I? I've always thought maybe Lower Middle Class but I was wondering what some other people thought?
4 AnswersSociology1 decade agoIn Britain, what social class would you say teachers at a state primary school fall into?
I'm thinking maybe Middle Middle or Lower Middle but I'm not sure which...

11 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoI just can't move on from this girl. Why not?!?
The old story really, met her in yr8 (let we have some of her water in English when I was really dehydrated), had a crush on her from that moment. Over the next few years she became one of my best friends, crush only grew other this time, by late yr 10 I knew that I was in love with her (by the time I was old and mature enough to be in love with someone). She always knew, I never made a secret of it, but she always turned me down and made it clear she would never feel the same way. There was never anyone else, it was only ever her, and since I was never particularly good with girls in the first place and I'm quite weird and not very good looking, there was never anyone to move on too. Am now in first yr of college (yr12), and things haven't really changed, she's gone to a different college so I hardly ever see her anymore, which is helpful in its way but it doesn't stop me pinning for her and crying over her. She's got a new boyfriend now, and he's really nice and i get on with him, and there so good together and I've never seen her so happy so it makes me feel happy; but it still makes me feel like my insides are burning all the time. And I'm still the pathetically single guy, all my friends have paired off and are in happy relationships and I'm 17 and haven't even kissed anyone. I had a talk with her the other day where I told her how much she'd hurt me and she told me that she'd always felt bad about it and was really sorry about it and it was really nice to be able to talk to her about it because we never had before and I thought that would finally allow me to move on. But it doesn't stop me loving her, I mean its been about two years now i should be over her by now, whats wrong with me why can't I move on?! Anybody got some advice or experience they can pass on?
PS. I'm sorry if I come across a bit pathetic or self pitying/concerned, I'm just sick of it, I don't want to love her I never did.
