  • I want to be induced at 37 weeks?

    Hi guys.

In 2012 I had a stillborn at 26 weeks. I had pre ecclampsia and blood clotting in the placenta vessels, which is what took my daughters life. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant, but baby is sizing at 35 weeks. It has always sized 2 weeks ahead, they say it's just a big baby but I am certain they have my dates wrong. My calculated due date was originally April 5th, but my first ultrasound at around 7 weeks suggested April 17th. But then 2 weeks after that at my next ultrasound it revealed baby sized was 2 weeks ahead, and has stayed that ever since. The doctors wont change my due date. They want to induce me at 38 weeks, but that would mean baby would size at 40 weeks anyway. I want to ask to be induced at 37 weeks by their dating, that would mean baby would size at 39 weeks. When they want to induce me would also be only 2 days away from my sisters wedding, which I really don't want to miss.

I'm in Australia. Do you think they will induce me at 37 weeks? I am getting so anxious and worried about it now. I can barely sleep. I'm terrified of waiting to full term and having something go wrong.

  • They have put my due date back 9 days?

    Hello,

I had an ultrasound scan 2 weeks ago and they could only see the sac, so she estimated me as 5 weeks and 2 days. Today when I went in to get another one, we could see baby, picked up a heartbeat and the lady told me baby was measuring 6 weeks and 4 days. To my calculations I am 8 weeks and 2 days as my last period was on the 29th of June and if I was only 6 weeks and 4 days I wouldn't of gotten a positive pregnancy test on the 1st of August if I apparently conceived on June 25th, only a week before.

Has this happened to anyone, what are your stories? Should I go by my calculations?

  • Can I lose weight during pregnancy?

Last year I had a stillborn in October at 26wks pregnant, I recently found out I am pregnant again, I'm roughly 7 weeks pregnant. I was 117kg last time I got pregnant, and now I range from 108 - 110 kg. I have pcos and my weight always jumps around. My BMI is about 43, and so I am considered severely high risk for complications in pregnancy. If I was to lose 12kg, I'd only be moderately high. I am terrified of having another stillborn. So would losing 12kg be alright to do since I'm big? The doctor said it would be good to lose weight but didn't suggest how much. Need some advice.

  • Can I get gastric bypass surgery?

I'm 18 years old, 5'2 and weigh 240 pounds and have PCOS. I've always had problems with my weight. I was 173 pounds 4 months ago and have been trying to lose more weight but it keeps going up and then down again, I just can't seem to get my weight lower even though I play tennis, at one point I was playing 16 hours a week. And If I do lose weight, it just goes up again. I had a stillborn in October of last year and the doctor blamed my weight for my baby's death. Whenever I do diets I lose about 5kg and that's it. It wont budge. Then it eventually goes up again. My BMI is 43.9. The doctor who gave me my daughters autopsy suggested weight loss surgery. Would Gastric bypass be good for my situation?

  • Can I lose 40-60 pounds while pregnant?

I have had a platelet complication in my pregnancy, it got as low as 6. Because of the steroids they started me on it made me gain a stack of weight. Before pregnancy my normal weight was 227 pounds. I've always been a big girl due to my PCOS as well. I've gained 60 pounds because of prednisolone and want to lose it because the extra weight is really hard on me physically and I have become very depressed. Is it safe to lose weight while pregnant? I'm 24 weeks. Thank you.

  • Plus size pregnancy and weight gain?

I'm a plus size girl, I have PCOS and a hormone imbalance and throughout my life my weight has varied. Before getting pregnant my weight sky rocketed from 103kg to 117kg out of no where, I hadn't changed my diet or anything, it was weird. So now I'm 18 weeks pregnant and 121kg, I've gained almost 5kg. I'm worried about it, because I'm already big, am I supposed to gain that much? Again, I'm not eating extra, not doing anything different or eating terrible it's just went on and I can't stop it.. Really worried and it's depressing me, I'm getting to the point where I'm scared of eating anything cause I don't wanna gain any unnecessary weight. Is this weight gain bad? What can I do?

    Thanks.

  • What are the chances of my baby being a redhead?

Don't get me wrong - no matter what color hair it has I'll adore it. But I was just wondering what the odds were. I'm brunette, but redheads run in my family. My mother is a ginger, but only one of her kids out of the 4 got red hair. The rest of her family are mostly redheads too. My partner has red hair but has no idea where he got it from as no one else in his family seems to have red hair. It may of come from a great grandparent. So what are the chances of our child being a redhead? Thanks. :)

  • Low platelet count, getting an infusion? Whats that?

Hi, ever since being pregnant (13 weeks now) I've had a low platelet count. It's down to 11 and the doctor called and told me I needed to come in for an infusion tomorrow and the day after. I'm not sure what that is or what to expect. My immune system kills off my platelets, so if it's like a blood transfusion where they give me platelets that would be pointless because my body kills them anyway? Or is it something else? Really need some explanation because I'm lost..

    Thank you!

  • I don't know whether to keep or abort, really need advice/opinions?

I'm 13 weeks pregnant, I just turned 18, my partner is turning 20. We live with his supportive mother and are both studying, been together almost two years. I am so scared that I can't give this baby what it needs with my financial situation, my age, where we live, along with other things. I also feel guilty that I don't feel anything for it whenever I see it on an ultrasound.. I am trying really hard, I just went to get my L's for my license, I'm going to buy a car, but I still worry I'm not good enough. I can't get myself to tell my family because young pregnancy is one of the worst things to them, they will be very unsupportive and I'll be labelled a disappointment. I'm worried their reaction is also making me scared to keep this child. But abortion also doesn't feel right with me. I couldn't do adoption, I don't think I'd be strong enough for that and there are so many children who need homes already. I know it is my decision, and I can't expect anyone to decide for me but some outsiders opinions would really help. Thank you.

  • Are we not ready for a baby?

Since finding out were pregnant, my boyfriend talks about how we can't travel, and how money is gonna be impossible and that we'd have to dump the child on his mother a lot which I disagree with. Yet he says he wants to do this. He talks like life is over basically. We are young. I'm almost 18, he's 20. I know it isn't ideal, but we have his families support and we can do it with adjustments. I'm not saying it isn't going to be hard. But he gets mad at me for not wanting to live in an apartment with a baby because I don't want complaints from people who work and can't sleep because of my baby.. Or when it begins to walk, I don't want stairs where it can get hurt. Or around a heap of people, that we may or may not like. And he wants a one bedroom, babies need a lot of stuff. We would need room. I'm also worried that this stress is the reason I've started spotting a little. It's dark colored, no unusual or unbearable cramping though. Are we just not ready for this? I feel really alone, and so lost. Or am I being irrational?

  • How to tell my parents that I'm pregnant at 17?

I'm turning 18 in July (2 weeks), I'm with the father. Have been together over a year and a half, but were best friends a long time before. So we are very close, no problem. His Mum is supportive, I live with them both together, but I haven't told my Mum yet. She gets so mad at teenage pregnancy and whenever I've asked in the past "What would you do if it were me?" She said she'd accidentally push me down the stairs. So that isn't promising, I think she'll abandon me even more so than she already has, I've been out of home since 14. I'm studying, I'm about to be a Teacher Assistant, so it isn't like I'm out partying every weekend. I'd consider myself somewhat mature. This wasn't a planned pregnancy either. We were safe, it just happened. I'm also too scared to tell my older sister, she's very organized and is the angel child that did everything right. So should I tell them all after it's too late to abort, like I didn't know I was pregnant? Because I have PCOS and I'm overweight, it was lucky to even conceive on my own and while on birth control. I'm so worried my family will make me do something I'll regret forever. Really need advice please.

  • What are the chances of having a miscarriage with PCOS?

I am 17 years old, pregnant (about two - three months predicted by my doctor by my menstrual cycle), I have PCOS and I am overweight. I also have quite a lot of cysts on my ovaries. I have always struggled with losing weight since I've been overweight my entire life. I am eating healthier now that I discovered my pregnancy, but have been reading about PCOS and miscarriages and to be honest it's frightened me. What are the chances for someone in my situation to miscarry? Do majority of PCOS sufferers have a miscarry? Will my age make it more likely? What can prevent it? Thank you.

  • Platelets (blood cell) has dropped to 10,000, I'm pregnant, with pcos at 17. Help?

Last week I got a few very small bruises, got a blood test. My count had dropped abnormally, then I get another blood test today and it's down to 10,000. The doctor calls me to get me in tomorrow morning. I'm pregnant and 17 and want to know what could cause this to happen? I have no other low count symptoms though, the bruising has gone, I haven't bled, I'm not dizzy or anything. I feel normal. Is that a good thing? I am really scared and need an idea of what this might be. Could pregnancy of taken a part in this? Thanks.

  • Pregnant at 17 with PCOS. Need advice.?

Okay I'm on birth control, went to the docs today and I discovered I had some blood problem. I asked if this could effect me not having a period since March, did a preg test, and it comes out positive. I took another later on in the day, positive. So I'm pregnant, I'm 17 and doing TAFE, been with the boyfriend for almost two years. I need advice or some with experience to help me decide what to do. We were using protection, so it wasn't something that we did carelessly. My parents would kill me, I don't live with them though, same as my older siblings etc. I live with my partner and his mum. The doctor told me I had some time to decide if I should keep it or not. What do I do?

  • Is this even possible?

So a few weeks ago I had really bad pregnancy symptoms left right and center. Within only a few days I did a test that came out negative and got a blood test and scan, also negative. But I hadn't had my period in 2 months and believe it was too early for anything to show even if I was. I haven't tested since. I haven't had many symptoms, just headaches and heart burn and a bit of abdominal pain. I suffer from PCOS too btw. I got my period, but it was a little lighter and it was only blood for the first 2 days before it was beginning to turn to brown discharge that was very light and was only there when it was wiped. Could I be pregnant? Or am I being silly? It's just I've read that some woman can bleed for months while conceiving, and I just feel different. I'm worried. Hope someone with experience can help. I'm 17.

  • Am I pregnant even though I have PCOS?

I was diagnosed with PCOS 6 years ago, I am 17 & overweight.

I had 2 negative home tests, but still have heavy symptoms. I haven't had my period in almost two months. For the past 5 days I have been feeling really bad nausea, it's like I'm about to throw up but I don't. My stomachs cramping, my boobs have been sore, have been really tired, and about a week ago my right ovary hurt, and then my left a few days later but not as bad. (Could just be because of my cysts). So basically the cramping hasn't stopped, and I've been experiencing dizziness occasionally. Last night when I took my bra off, my boobs felt so heavy, not exactly bigger, but fuller, almost like they're swollen. And there were veins across them, only a few. My boobs aren't as sore, but still heavy and full. The soreness gets worse, then eases.

    Thanks.
