I'm landing about 17 interviews for entry-level positions. However, I've rarely been called back for a second round. I know this is normal, but I think when my ratio is almost 10% of call backs, I might be doing something wrong. I know by getting the interview, that my resume is speaking well for me. I even immediately get questions about my supervisor job. Or my job as a project manager for a 200K project. When it comes to the end of the interview, I sometimes see the blanks in the interviewers' eyes. Sure enough, I don't get called back for a second round.

I know I'm messing up somewhere, but I don't know how. I usually talk about my experience starting with a background, then what I did, then the result. I often get asked for clarifications on the background and I notice that my results are shorter than they probably should be.

I'm under the suspicion that I am too elaborate in the background details, which confuses or distracts the interviewer. I also think that I should elaborate on the results more than "It all worked out in the end thanks to my partial contributions to my team." Could anyone help me understand how to balance these out?

Found a tick... When I removed it, I removed it with my finger because I thought it was just a scab or something. Not knowing what it was, I threw it in the toilet and flushed and took a shower. I realize now that the tick is removed, I need to make sure I eliminate all possibilities especially given how improperly I removed it.

What exactly should I do from here? I can't tell if it is fully removed, and it is too early to tell any sort of symptoms (not sure what the chances of Lyme Disease is haha). I don't really want to go to a doctor unless it's necessary, I think going now would be overreacting. Thoughts?

I am living in Chicago this summer for an internship and I will need transportation to and from work (30 minute walk). I looked at the CTA's website and I was sort of confused about the fares. I know that the typical fare was 2.25, but seeing as how I'll be using it twice a day, I was wondering if there was a more convenient and cheaper way instead of carrying around $4.5 with me everyday.

I accepted an offer to be an IT Intern for an insurance company. My major is not directly related to this field though. I've only taken one basic class in Information Technology and it taught me just the basics of security and social media. I do not know how to code, but the company I work for will not be expecting that out of me. I will likely be put in a less technical and more strategic part of the program. I am mostly concerned with what topics I would be confronted with. Is there an online resource I can look at to get me familiar with the terms and programs I might be looking at this summer?

Lately my job just got a lot more stressful due to a personal matter. While dealing with this, I noticed a lot of people will say, "You look tired", "Dude you don't look so good", "You look sad," etc. Very few people know what's going on and it's confidential. I never talk about due to my confidentiality I have to uphold but people still seem to notice something's wrong just by looking at me... which is frustrating because I can't respond at all. I don't see anyone different in the mirror.

Occasionally they'll say that I look a lot better, but this is when the matter isn't on my mind... then when they bring this up, I'm instantly reminded of it. What do they see that I don't see?

Alright a little backstory...

A few years ago, an internet provider (Pavlov Media) went to my apartment building promising great internet with low prices. My building decided to establish building wide wifi but the internet company skimped us by offering too low of an internet speed to share among 700+ people. When the building got these complaints that people couldn't connect to the internet they contacted the Pavlov media to fix this problem. The internet company first said that people's independent internet routers(established by fustrated residents) were interfering with the wi-fi internet.

So after all our routers were taken down we still had crappy internet. The Pavlov Media then said they will put up more of their own wireless routers to fix the problem. Shortly after they announced it I found my ethernet speed was really slow. I tested it at 5mbps which is half what they promised. Are they trying to save money by tricking me again or is it some other problem?

I have a warranty at Staples for my laptop and when I noticed something was wrong with my computer I asked them and they said I should send my computer in for 3 days so they can diagnose it. I didn't want to wait that long so I looked up the problem myself on the Dell website. They said to run the Windows Diagnostics Program and so I did. It told me I had something wrong with my fan so now I know I can wait a little bit until the school year is over to send it in to get fixed. My Mom is yelling at me though saying it can be way worse and the Program might not have caught it so I should send it into Staples. I was convinced that I used the same program on my computer as Staples uses but I want to make sure and see if it is more intelligent than the one on my computer.

Me and my roommates had some bread for a while and it eventually spoiled. When it does this we only see green and blue. This time however the bread didn't look discolored at all, we only noticed a strong vodka like smell. I was wondering what was actually going on? Is the bread fermenting? Can it be made into alcohol? Or is it just vodka mold?

This is for a physics homework assignment, I got all of it done but this problem is bothering me and I can't find the answer. The choices are...

A) potential energy; kinetic energy

B) mass; weight

C) weight; mass

D)kinetic energy; potential energy

I'm pretty sure it's C because scales measure weight and can be different on other planets. but I'm not sure about balances because there can be different circumstances i think.

I have a Dell laptop and it is fairly new and was decent at playing some high taxing games. Recently though my computer started acting funny. When I played a game it would run fine but out of nowhere my screen would turn pink and the computer would make a horrible scratchy sound and i would have to force shut down my computer. This is even happening on older games and at the lowest graphics levels. It's gotten really annoying and happens almost every time i play a game now.

I talked to some friends and they said there might be a problem with my graphics card or my video card :S. I need some advice please. If you can please tell me what might be wrong with my computer and whether or not i should send it in to get repaired.Thanks and God bless.

I am a freshman in college, I have a pretty comfortable job and it's pretty relaxed. I recently was recommended to be an RA in the residence hall I live in and they need some letters of recommendation from someone who works for the university. I want to ask my current employer to fill one out, but i feel it might not be proper because becoming an RA might mean I will have to leave my current job the following year. So would this be an ok thing to do if this job isn't a very formal?

I'm in college right now and rushing is starting. I've been trying to go to rush parties but me and my friends from my hometown are trying to stay together. Anyways I'm still debating fraternities and which ones I should consider. I am interested in the business fraternity but I'm afraid it wouldn't be that fun. But I'm afraid the social fraternities, while fun, will distract me too much with schoolwork (I am easily distracted). What I'm asking is that will the professional fraternities be at least a little fun to make it worth my while or should I just join a social fraternity and try my best not to get too distracted... Or maybe I shouldn't join one at all.

I'm a freshman in college and I heard a lot about rushing for fraternities. Thing is that I only have a week to decide which fraternity to join. I'm wondering whether joining one is a good idea in the first place. I think education is a high priority but I also want to network with new friends. I'm also wondering whether or not to wait until next semester or sophomore year to choose and join a fraternity. I also heard about some fraternities that are aimed towards a major, which I think might be helpful if I majored in business and joined a business fraternity because I can network with people who are as interested in business as I am. Any advice would be helpful. If it helps I'm like 60% dedicated to education and 40% dedicated to having fun.

I am moving into a dorm soon and they do not have a microwave. I was planning on bringing mine but they said it had to be 800 watts or less. I looked at the back of mine and it said 120V 1200W single phase. And 700 watts output. Which one am I supposed to look at? Single phase or output???

Here's my problem, I think i might be able to combine my first point and my third point, but if i do, i think i want to put another point in then so i can have a longer paper so i don't have to drag it out. Do any of you have an idea i should use as my third point if i do this?

I tried hooking up my mp3 player into my computer by usb cord, i'm using the port i usually use but when i connect the usb cord to my mp3 pllayer it makes 3 beeps, when i take it out it makes 1 beep. thing is it used to always detect the mp3 player and ask what i want to sync it to, now it doesn't do that and when im using a syncing device none of them detect the mp3 player(creative X-fi). im trying to update my mp3 player now seeing if it needs new drivers in order to sync, but the update is not having any progress causing me to think it is not doing anything.

*note: My Mp3 player is charging however, and i've tried different ports and cords. none have worked

I was born here and raised here but i don't know what to call myself, i don't want the college to think im foreign because im not.

i already almost made a mistake by selecting Senior for my name thinking they were wanting to see which year im in, turns out they wanted to know my family name status, if i selected senior they would have thought i fathered a child lol.

im looking at this college my Dad went to, its a very nice college with a religious backround and teacher student ratio of 1:11. Im interested in teaching high school but when i saw the majors it offers i got confused. it said it offers majors for early youth and elementery, but they offer certification for secondary. Is secondary another word for High school and if i get a certificate then does that mean im able to teach high school?

Im taking a long trip and im filling my mp3 player with new songs. i like every type of music, classical, jazz, country, rock, metal, hip hop/rap. i got many songs for every genre exept hip hop/rap. i like the more mainstream hip hop better than the gangster rap. so could you help me out so i don't have to be bored driving?

Im curious to see which side this part of the internet is on so please tell me if you're Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, Green, or something else. if you would please tell me what side of the spectrum you are (conservative, liberal; socially and economically if you understand what im saying).
