  • How financially viable is a job in the Parks Department in the long run?

I understand that pay can vary between city/state/federal parks jobs and that beginning pay isn t that good no matter what.

Does anybody have a good feel for the LONG TERM prospects of a career and any advice in terms of education, different positions to aim for, etc.? I would love a career supporting our parks, but I also love to travel and at some point would need to make more money to be able to afford those sorts of extra-curricular activities. Thanks!

  • I need advice for home music recording programs.?

I just need a basic home recording set up to capture the songs I write (I only play bass and am learning piano) to then take to my friend's studio where we can ACTUALLY record. My need is to most create the spine and the direction of the songs before they get fully flushed out.

The problem is I have very little experience and not a great laptop. Does anybody have advice for a good starting program that would be relatively easy to learn but also isn't just garage band? I plan do develop past the point where garage band fits my needs (hopefully)

  • iPod battery replacement help?

I have a regular 30 GB iPod from 2005, and it will play music for about 5 minutes before the battery bites the dust. I've got 3000 or so songs on there, so I don't really want to give up on the thing. Is there a way to just replace the battery?

  • REALLY generic car question, I am clueless?

Sadly, despite being a 25 year old male, I don't know a damn thing about cars. However, I do love Top Gear (England, the American one is crap) and find myself knowing nothing about what they are talking about. So, if somebody could just some up why I care about 5.7 liter V8, 500 torque etc. that would be great. In general I just don't know what they mean by any of that stuff. Go into as much or as little detail as you wish.

  • "Close to the Edge" by Yes?

If there are any Yes fans on here (I'm sure a place like this has far more Bieber fans than people who have even heard of Yes) I want to buy Close to the Edge but the remastered version is 2 bucks cheaper. If you have listened to it, is the remastered version as good? Often remastered versions take away from the character of the sound and will even do some re-producing, so I just want to make sure I'm not buying a crappy version.

  • European nation which wants to join the U.S.?

I read an article about an Eastern European country such as Latvia, Bulgaria, etc. which was trying to become a U.S. state, but I can't remember which nation this was. Does anybody have any info on this? It's not a huge story because it's not a huge country, but it is interesting regardless.

  • Have you been to Ireland?

If so, tell me about it. I wish I could give everybody the best answer but I can't, so wow me with a story. I love Ireland and my family comes from the West, so if you slip in a little tidbit about Joyce Country or Connemara you may be the winner.

If you have ever been to Clonbur say so!

  • Help with FIFA 11(or any FIFA)?

I need help with shooting, as this is my first ever soccer video game. It doesn't matter where I aim or what spin I put on the ball, the trajectory seems to be random. I'm not sure I understand exactly how it is supposed to work. Sometimes I aim down and the ball jumps 30 feet in the air. Sometimes I aim up and it's a beautiful goal in the corner just 3 feet off the ground. And tips on this would be appreciated, in as much detail as you feel is necessary.

Also, if you know any good forums for discussing FIFA let me know. I found a FIFA wiki page, but it wasn't any good.

  • My front left tire is making rusty hinge noises...?

I believe it's coming from my front left wheel well (It's hard to say as I'm driving my car so that's where it sounds like the noise is coming from). The noise is akin to a rusty hinge and it sounds like it happens with every rotation of the tire. However, the noise dissipates some when I turn corners and it go away entirely when I apply the brakes. Any ideas? My friend suggesting it was a bearing that was loose or something.

Also, if you do have an idea, can you give me a ballpark $$$ estimate?

  • Is anybody out there a fan of 10cc? I need help with one of their songs.?

The chorus is upbeat and says "Monday Tuesday....(stuff I don't remember) ..... ... Wonder if it's real of make-believe." That's not much information but if there are any 10cc fans they will probably be able to figure it out.

As a side note I have tried asking this question 3 times now and every single time it either doesn't post or in the last case, despite selecting music, it was place under "Vehicles<Nissan." This has been a multi-day process. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Yahoo bull $hit.

  • Is anybody out there a fan of 10cc? I need help with one of their songs.?

All I remember is the chorus which starts with "Monday Tuesday" and ends with, I believe, "Wonder if it's real of make believe." It's pretty upbeat and the tune jumps up and down. Not a lot of information to work with but if anybody is a fan of 10cc I think they will be able to figure it out. I can usually find a song just by searching lyrics but it didn't work with this one.

Just wondering where fans go to hopefully get jerseys and other paraphernalia that doesn't cost an unbelievable amount. Every sport has discount websites somewhere.

  • Any help on teaching English abroad would be appreciated.?

I'm stuck in that "what to do with my life" stage after college, and teaching English abroad seems like a good opportunity before I tie myself down. However, there are seemingly limitless websites about this and quite frankly it's getting rather confusing. Can anybody (especially if you have done it yourself) point me in the direction of a trustworthy resource? And any other advice would of course be very welcome. Thank you.

  • This may be hard... I need help with a classical piano song on a commercial...?

It's a Samsung phone commercial and it features a pianist playing a piano in which all the keys are actually phones. I've always liked the song but cannot recall who composed it or what it is called.

Most people who are into classical music will be able to name it, I'm just unsure if any of those people A) use this website and B) have seen the commercial.

  • When is Les Miserables touring the U.S. again?

I saw it 5 years ago or so while it was on a U.S. tour, but I'm not even sure if they are going to do another one. Does anybody have any information on this? I could see it 20 times and it wouldn't get old.

  • Anybody watch Turner Classic Movies(TCM). I have a question about "The Essentials" with Robert Osborne.?

During the commercial for the essentials there is a brief black-and-white clip of a shadowy figure with a cape and a cap running down a street at night. It makes me think of London and Jack the Ripper or Sherlock Holmes. Does anybody know what film this is from? The cinematography in that scene alone looks breathtaking.
