I am considering buying some very expensive yarn from this website http://aurorasilk.com./ I asked the merchant for a crochet gauge and she refused. She would only tell me what it says on the site, that the yarn knits about 4 stitches per inch on size 5 needles. The site also says that it is about 100 yds/oz.

The other knits about 6 stitches per inch, but no needle size is listed. It is just over 100 yds per oz.

Any ideas?

I know the new Friday the 13th remake is being filmed in Austin, and I'd like to visit the set. But how can I find out where they are filming? Other than just driving around.

I'd like to make a skein of yarn that has layered color--dark, lighter, lightest. I don't want the patchy look you get with most variegated yarns--I want long sweeps of color that fade into each other. I was thinking that attempting kool aid dyeing on a still rolled skein might work--the wool on the outside would absorb more color than the inside and thus be darker. Has anyone else tried anything like this?

My husband and I are trying to lose weight and having a huge problem with eating at night. We eat a normal dinner with our daughter around 5:30, then we are usually up til around midnight 1am. Not surprisingly, by 10-11 oclock we are hungry again. Any suggestions?

I'd like a few objective opinions on this. I'm a huge fan of a tv show and recently decided I wanted to make a gift for the stars. I'm thinking about doing some volunteer work and dedicating it to them--they seem like nice people, but they're busy making my favorite tv show, and probably don't have time to do as much as they might like. Anyway, here's the idea: collect gifts for charitable donation, donate time and work etc and then put together a scrapbook to send them.

At first, I thought this seemed like a cool idea (obviously), but now I find that as I try to tell people about it, I feel like I am bragging about myself and I wonder if that's how it seems to other people. Is this different than any other homemade gift? Does it seem vain or boastful to you? I'm normally a very shy and self-effacing person--the last thing I want is create the impression that I am full of myself. Help please!

The first time, they sent me a generic email with a whole list of things I could have done wrong. Later, they sent another email stating that I had links to other pages on my site and that I had 48 hours to remove them. I did, and they shut me down again anyway, even though the only link left on my page is to my own yahoo email address. Their help system is worthless, I can't get a reasonable answer out of them....what is going on?

I'm making some hats for a local hospital and would like to use some pretty bulky weight yarn I have. But I can't find a pattern to use. Please don't just post links to sites unless they actually have bulky weight baby patterns--I've already checked a ton of sites with no luck.

I was recently given a ticket for making an illegal right turn on red, however when I turned, the light was green. There were even other cars going across the intersection. But the officer pulled me over and told me they were "working" that intersection and I made an illegal turn. There aren't any traffic cameras at that intersection so it is basically his word against mine. What can I say to convince the judge that I am telling the truth and the officer made a mistake?

I'm trying to get a screen shot from my favorite tv show and I can't get it to work. I was told to use control, alt, print screen, but nothing happens. I've tried this while the show was playing and while paused, with both programs. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I'd like to wear a light foundation or tinted moisturizer, but whenever I do, my skin seems to get super oily. What can I do to fix this problem?

They both list 2 oz, 124 yards per ball. But Caress is labled sport weight and Shimmer Fashion is labled worsted weight. I can't get Caress in my local stores and thought Shimmer Fashion might substitute. Any thoughts?
