  • Physics help? Stuck on one problem?

A spelunker (cave explorer) drops a stone from rest into a hole. The speed of sound is 343 m/s in air, and the sound of the stone striking the bottom is heard 3.11 s after the stone is dropped. How deep is the hole?

I've been stuck on this problem for quite some time and can't come up with a formula to solve. Anyone who can give even just the formula or help me get a formula would be a great help.

I have a set of speakers that have no volume control and I want to adjust the sound on them. I have a connection that goes from the back of the xbox to a split of vga and av cables, and I used converters to get an audio jack. How do I change the sound through the 360?

  • I am of the opinion that time...?

    does not exist.

    My arguments being:

    1. How could time possibly start.

    2. Time is said to be a force, but everything is moved by a force other than time.

I'm just a fourteen year old with no education in this stuff so if there is some proof or something I would like to be proved otherwise.

  • word problems honors algebra 1 help?

I'm stuck on two word problems, the first one is:

The length of a certain rectangle is 10m greater than twice its width. If the length were double and the width were halved, the perimeter would be increased by 80m. Find the original dimensions of the rectangle.

    The second one is:

Penny collected some change in preparation for a garage sale. She collected two more nickles than twice the number of dimes and eight fewer quearters than twice the number of nickels. If the value of the quarters was $1.60 greater than four times the value of the nickels and dimes together, what was the total value of the change that Penny collected?
