Hey. So, Im a 15 year old male. I moved to a military base in DC about 7 months ago. Ive made a decent number of friends here and some of them are great. But I could never help but feel like I was a little different from them some how. And lately I find myself frustrated by it. I guess it's maybe cuz they all come from very white, uber conservative, Christian, homeschooled backgrounds. I come from a very diverse, somewhat liberal Christian background. Recently, I've begun discovering more about who I am, what I believe, etc. And it's quite different from those here. Not saying I don't love them (most of the time) but it seems like they're so insensitive and close-minded. They judge me on so much. Just because I listen a wide variety of music that might cuss or screams. and not listening to their shallow pop and stuff. The judge me Because I feel there are times when you need to stand up to authority in order to protect what you believe is right. Or because I drop a curse word every here and there. Or that I wear what I want, even though it makes me look rough. They have a hard time accepting me just because I'm a little different. Can someone tell me how to show them they shouldn't judge people just because someone's different?
