  • Which camera should i buy?

Ok, i know how some people are going to respond, it's my preference or whatever, but i'd like some real help.

I've been looking at the Canon Powershot A590 for a month or so, i have read reviews from both owners and camera experts til my head spins, and it's got great reviews.

Then, i saw the Canon Powershot sx110, read a bunch about it, and from what i gather, the only signficant difference is that the sx110 has the 10x zoom as well as 30 fps in video mode, whereas the 590 has only 4x zoom and 20 fps (of course, there are other differences, but i am not familiar with all the photo jargon).

I'm a novice, but would like to take up photography as a hobby and all, and i really want to know if it would be worth it to spend the extra money to get the 10x zoom, or if there is any real difference between the two other than what i mentioned above. Would the sx110 be "too much" of a camera (but it's got 10x zoom)?

    Thanks

  • Is there a way to report a website that sold my email address to spammers?

I used to NEVER get spam, NEVER. Then, like an idiot, i signed up for something, and since then have been getting spam from all over the place (at least the spam filter filters it, but i hate having to empty that out all the time, and see if legit emails are in there).

Is there a way to report the piece of ---- website that sent/sold my email address to all these places?

    Thanks

  • Does anyone else think The Dark Knight is overrated?

I'm sure i'm going to get lots of flak for this.

I thought it was good, but not as good as i expected it to be. I actually liked Batman begins better (it was a lot darker, to me).

I thought Ledger did a really good job as the Joker, but i don't think he was as good as everyone makes him out to be; i think his death played a role in the perception of his Joker (i might change my opinion after watching it a couple more times).

Am i alone in thinking it's overrated. If so, what makes it as great as everyone says?

    Thanks.

  • Is Moscow Zero as bad as everyone says?

I mean, the trailer looks cool, but i swear EVERY single review i have read on both Netflix and imdb says it's absolutely HORRIBLE.

  • what color should i paint my bedroom?

    I have this comforter: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/regatta-chocolate-...

The doors and the trim are both stained a pecan brown, with no crown mold.

The furniture is oak, stained a light oak color.

The carpet is also brown, called "butternut," but it's not too dark. I would say that it's midway between true brown and beige.

I have this as the main print (Van Gogh Irises): http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www....

The room is pretty small, about 144 sq. feet, with one average window, and a queen bed and headboard with a large mirror.

I was thinking of painting it a light green, lighter than the green on the bed, to complement said comforter, and that, other than beige or ocre, are the only other colors that i think would work.

Any ideas of other colors to paint the walls to complement all this and not be too dark?

    Thanks!

I think i covered it all, but if i think of anything else i'll add.

  • How to find out what the range of punishment is for criminal convictions?

I have searched and searched, but i can't seem to find anything in the statutes or elsewhere about what the range of punishment is (minimum to maximum) for particular criminal convictions. I live in the state of Georgia, so where do i find this information (website, government website, etc) with state crimes (not federal) and their penalties? Is there somewhere that lists offenses and then lists the degree of penalties? Also, where would i find the same thing for local infractions (those crimes that are designated only for the county or the city and not the state)?

I've searched google, using variations of keywords and phrases, tried findlaw, and everything else of which i can think, without going to a law library.

    Thanks!

  • What are some good films about Nazi Germany?

What are some good films (from any country) like "Downfall," "Sophie Scholl: The Final Days," "Army of Shadows," and "Schindler's List" that explore the Nazi's methodology, the people who suffered/lived under them, and the people who resisted them (preferably about real people and events)? Documentaries also welcome, but I prefer films based on events.

    Thanks.

Note: I posted this on the film board, and i received The Piano and Europa Europa as the only suggestions.

  • Any Cold-War Era Anti-US Soviet Films?

Since during the cold war there were soooo many US films that were themed directly or indirectly against the USSR and communism, are there any good films from the cold war era made primarily in Russia that have the same themes, only against the US and capitalism?

  • Will water hurt a photgraph?

I had a photograph that was framed, but the glass got broken, and now the photo and a piece of the glass are stuck together. If i soak it in water to loosen whatever is holding it, will it destroy or harm the picture. If so, what else could i use to soak it in to unbind it? Or anything else that might help for those knowledgeable about photography.

    Thanks!

  • How to hook a N64 to a Home Theater receiver?

Last year i bought a Home Theatre Receiver (Sony) for the surround sound, and finally bought another N64 (used). I can't seem to get it hooked up. I connected everything like the manual said, using the RCA A/V jacks/cables and connected it to my video 3 port on the receiver, but when i turn on the N64, and switch it over to the V3 there is nothing but a blue screen, i have tried various other component ports, with the no luck, either. I have tried everything, i think, and tried two games, but nothing works.

Any ideas on how to get it hooked up? Is there something i am not doing, and some type of converter needed, or something of which i am not aware that i need to do. Yes, it could be possible that the N64 is not working (it is guaranteed to work), but i'm thinking there is some other problem with the hook up/cables/etc..

I can't route it through the VCR/DVD because there are no A/V in jacks in either one, and i don't want to go through the TV because i want the audio through to my larger speakers.

    Any help, appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • What is the name of this late 80s/early 90s low budget horror film?

I don't recall much about it, but it came on pay channels back then (late 80s/early 90s). Here is all i recall: some people (teenagers?) get stranded (somehow) and end up finding a house that is pretty much out in the country/in the middle of nowhere. The house is not run down or anything, but seems to be fairly kept up; like an ordinary house. They knock and are welcomed by, and invited in by, the family. There is a grandmother, who i recall as being in a rocking chair, a young (teenage?) girl (possibly blonde) and a few other people.

I do not remember much about the plot, but i do know that the people who live in the house are ghosts. They look like ordinary people, but the longer the stranded people stay, weird stuff starts to happen (like they start being killed, i think) and other weird stuff.

I know this is a very vague description, and i have seen other people posting even more vague descriptions and trying to find a film about which they only have a vague recollection, but i am hoping that someone might know this film.

    Thanks.

If i can think of any other details, i'll post them, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.
