  • Anorexia-recovery-exercise-calories?

After relapsing last May I've started recovery again. Since the beginning of April (2014) I've gone from 47.2kg to 50.6kg (I'm 163cm in height, 26 years old). So now I'm in the healthy BMI range I've started exercising, currently up to 2x 2mile runs a week and light/moderate weight training. On exercise days I'm eating about 1700-1750 cals and on rest days 1550-1650 cals. Is this too much or too little to maintain my current weight?

  • Castrol Edge for AUDI A3 2.0 TDI (Long Life Service)?

It's the first time I'm personally buying engine oil for my A3 (2010). The book says it needs VW 507 00 as its on a Long Life service plan. I've seen Castrol Edge 5W30 and was wondering if this is ok? Also do I get the FST version or normal one? (I haven't got a clue about engine oil as you can tell!)

    Thanks in advance

  • Are these signs of iron deficiency anaemia?

I'm trying to recover from anorexia, however I have the feeling I may be suffering from iron deficiency anaemia. I know I should go to the doctors but I've gone AWOL since May after my weight increased into the healthy bmi area (after my first attempt at recovery Feb-May 2013) and I hated to go and get weighed as I just felt fat, gaining from bmi 16.3 to 19. However my weight has since decreased to 18.3 after kind of relapsing (not restricting like I did before but still not eating enough (currently eating 1200cals))

    My symptoms include:

    General tiredness

    Dark circles under my eyes

Rapid heartbeat (sometimes) when I'm sleeping

    Dry skin

    Bruising

Cracks/scabbing in the corner of my mouth

    Thank you in advance

  • Trying recovery (again) from anorexia - advise please?

I've had issues with food now for over 2 years and I've been in therapy for over a year. The lowest bmi I had was 16.6 (Feb, 13) then I tried recovery and got to 19.3 (May, 13), then it’s kind of gone downhill from there and so far my bmi has fallen to 18.3. Although I'm not restricting as much as I was this time last year, I'm still only managing 1150-1250 most days (never breaching the 1250 ceiling I've created for myself). This clearly is not enough as my therapist says, as by eating this amount my weight has steadily decreased since May. I know I'm going to have to gain weight as I'm currently underweight but as you will appreciate, that is scary concept and the moment I’d be ok with just maintaining (putting on weight is the next big hurdle after just maintaining). At this moment I'd be ok just allowing myself to have more of the healthy and nutritious food e.g. going for a pre-packed salad that just has more energy/calories in it thus taking my aggregate calorie amount to 1300-1400. Would increasing energy intake, all made up of healthy foods (I can only justify healthy foods so absolutely no bad foods e.g. donuts, chips, sweets etc), to 1300-1400cals be ok? Would I maintain or gain? Any (sensible) advise is welcomed.

  • Is this wisdom tooth infected?

I'm 26 and my left wisdom has been erupting for awhile. Last year it became really sore, inflamed with pus. I kept cleaning the area and rinse with medicated mouth wash. When I went to my Dentist he just cleaned it with saline and gave me the same mouth wash and me to do what I was doing. The pain, inflammation and pus has returned again, but the pain is worse - I've been finding it very painful to open my jaw. I'm currently taking ibuprofen and codeine to cope with the pain. Should I return to the dentist just to be told to do what I'm doing (and be charged for the privilege of a spray of saline) or see if it subsides?

  • Is 1400 calories still considered a low cal diet?

I'm currently trying to recover from anorexia. My BMI has now recovered to 19.6 from 16.9. I was wondering if 1400 is too low even though I'm now recovered (physically - although my periods haven't returned yet). I'm not doing any exercise other than 20mins walking a day.

  • Binge day (ED) - will I gain weight?

I'm currently battling with anorexia/ednos and I'm seeing a psychologist about it. I was underweight and I've now managed to work upto a healthy bmi of 19.2. I've been struggling alately though and have been eating on average 1000 cal. and no exercise. However today I blew it and binged on 1700 cals (20% protein, 20% fat, 60% carbs). Will this cause me to gain weight? I'm kind of freaking out because I'm so terrified of putting on anymore. Those total calorie calculators say my maintenance intake is around 1500 cals for my age, weight and height.

  • Anorexia recovery - healthy BMI but still have food cravings?

I'm 7 weeks into recovery and have gone from a BMI of 16.6 to 19. I was restricting for over a year and at my worst restricted to 600-700 for about 6 months. For the first 5 weeks into recovery I was averaging at 1800 calories a day. For the past two weeks I've been averaging at 1400 calories. My periods haven't returned yet. I've started swimming again so I go about two times a week. My question is regarding food cravings. I thought now I'm at a healthy BMI my food cravings would subside and my appetite would normalise, but I'm craving nut butters alot and I always seem hungry. I'm terrified of gaining any more, I just want to maintain. I have a office job so spend most of my days not moving much so I want to eat enough just to maintain and I don't want to flip to binge eating (as can sometimes happen with recovering anorexics). But why the hell am I always hungry even though I'm now at a healthy BMI?

  • Anorexia recovery - how many calories should I aim for?

My BMI is currently 16.8 and I'm trying to recover from the awful illness. A couple of time lately I've tried eating 1800 calories, but then I go back to restricting to circa 700 calories because I feel so guilty. How many calories should I be eating? Recommended daily allowance for a woman (2000) or even more? My therapist wants me to get my weight up to 18.5bmi at least (this feels huge). I'm so scared of gaining weight but I know that's what I need to do. I'm scared how quickly the pounds will go on. I'm currently doing no exercise.

  • How does Singstar Online Download Store work?

Hi I have just bought Abba and Queen Singstar for the PS3 and I was browsing through the songs on the online store. But how does the online store work? 1. How do you buy content and pay for it (e.g. debit card/credit card)? 2. Does it save to your HDD? 3. Once you have downloaded the song how do you play the song (e.g. do you have to put a singstar disc in or do you go to some special place on the PS3 home screen?

  • Copy and Paste with Quicktime Player Pro?

I bought the Samsung PL70 digital camera and I have a selection of video clips recorded on it I want to merge together. I purchased the Quicktime Player Pro as the file formats are MPEG-4's. I do as the instructions say: I get my first clip go to Edit and Select All, then Edit and Copy. Then I open my second clip move the pointers to where I want to insert the clip (at the end) and then when I went to Edit the Paste is greyed out like I haven't copied anything yet. (Pro is fully activated as all the other areas are available to me). Can you help me please? Do I need to change the file format? If so how do I do this? (UK)

  • Dell error code 0142 (2000-0142) hard drive faulty - how much will it cost to get this fixed?

I ran diagnostics on my computer after it froze on the first screen when you switch the computer on (Dell XPS 430 Vista (32 bit)) and I got the error code 2000-0142. From my search on the forums this says your hard drive is faulty and needs fixing. How much will this cost to get fixed? I'm thinking of taking it to the Tech Guys at PC World.

  • It's been 58 days since the first day of my last menstrual cycle, is it time to the visit the Doctor?

    1. I am not pregnant as I've have not had sexual relations with anyone.

    2. I've always had irregular periods, but never this late.

I'm going on holiday in two weeks and since I still haven't come on my period I'm wondering whether I've now waited long enough and its time to get this sorted.

Also when I was a 14 I had some persistent stomach pains, it turned out I have IBS, however whilst they were investigating (camera - key hole surgery) they discovered cysts on my ovaries but said they were nothing to worry about. Could these be now causing a problem?

  • How much does a Specsavers Contact Lenses Consultation cost?

I'm thinking of trying contact lenses and am thinking about booking an appointment. I had an eye test with them in April this year, so my prescription is fairly recent. Also what happens during the consultation?
