  • Calculating pi using only 32-bit integer variables?

How to calculate an approximate pi using only integers as variables (need a few hundred digits)?

What I need is a short pseudo-code script (it doesn't matter the language) that implements one of the known formulas, but using only 32-bit integer variables (limitation of the scripting ambient)

It will be used in an open source project.

Author will be fully thanked an referenced.

Fatevi sotto ! :-)

  • Strange faulty dvd-writer?

My dvdwriter was dead, it could just open and close, but no spinning of the cd/dvd inside and so no data.

So I plugged a new dvd-writer and configured it correcly into the bios.

This new dvd writer can read the TOC of the cd/dvd so I can see the data on the disc, but when it try to copy/open a file it just give me a I/O error. i/O is obtained even with Nero test, or Easy cd Creator drive test mode.

So I was wondering that maybe my secondary IDE channel of my MB is fried somehow.

Someone had the same problem ? Could you think about any test I can do ?
