  • What is causing my nausea and vomiting? Could it be an irritated pancreas?

I've had nausea and vomiting for the past 5 months. The nausea is constant day and night, but I have good days and bad days. Nothing seems to make it better, but even mild physical activity (exercise) makes me vomit. Dietitian says my diet is great. Zofran and Phenergen do not help symptoms. Doctors have done something like 7 tests/procedures to diagnose, but all have been negative until now. EDG ultrasound shows my pancreas is mildly irritated, so Dr. assumes mild chronic pancreatitis. Prescribes Creon pills. Problem is, I haven't had weight loss, any abdominal pain, greasy floating stools, or indigestion- the main symptoms of pancreatitis.

Two part question I guess: 1- what could cause pancreas irritation besides pancreatitis or cancer? 2- Any ideas for further testing or diagnosis of my nausea? I've had a full CBC (I think that's what it's called) blood testing workup, liver, kidney and gall bladder blood tests, gastric emptying study, barium swallow test, food allergy tests, and two EDGs taking samples from the stomach and upper intestine, and ultrasounding the pancreas.

Oh, and yes, I am going to talk with my GI doctor that prescribed the Creon, but he's not available until April 11th. Sigh....

  • Why do I have to have a JP blood drain tube after my thyroidectomy surgery?

My mom had the exact same surgery a few weeks ago at a different hospital, but didn't have a drain, even right after surgery. We even had the same diagnosis. The only difference I could think of is that my incision was a little longer. Hoping to get a nurse to answer this question. The nurses at my hospital just said "it's the rules" and wouldn't tell me why. They want me to keep it in for more than a week! It's already draining slowly enough to remove according to this website (less than 2 tbs per day) http://www.drugs.com/cg/jackson-pratt-drain-care.h...

  • What is the asset limit for a owned car to get SSDI in Ohio?

Believe it or not, I haven't been able to get one solid answer from the SSI people themselves. My mom is disabled and applying for SSDI. She has already been declared disabled, she was just over the asset limit from what she had in savings. Now she's run out of money enough to get SSDI, but she owns a car that is worth about $9,000. I've heard that is over the limit and she would be denied. Does anyone know if this is true (perhaps from experience)?

  • Where can I find some examples of individual analytical psychodrama exercises (a.k.a roleplaying)?

My therapist and I think that it may help me become more outgoing and less prone to panic attacks if I role-play being social with certain types of people. We haven't been able to find hardly any resources though. I've already gone to a lot of psychodrama organization sites and haven't found any concrete examples. I'm looking for actual things that the counselor could say to me, or at least a description of a 'character' that the counselor could act out.

  • How can I find what graphics card I have installed? Device manager doesn't say.?

I'm trying to get an old computer working again. I formatted the hd and reinstalled windows 2000pro. I can't remember what graphics card is in there, and the device manager says only 'video controller vga compatible' under other devices. So I'm running on 16 colors here. I looked under display properties and it just says vga with no chip information or nothing. I ran fresh diagnose and under display adapters it just says 'vga'. Is there some kind of generic driver I can use maybe? I'm not going to be using this computer for gaming or anything, it's just a backup. Oh, there's nothing written on the card itself to give me a clue. I want to say it was a radeon, but my memory has been known to play tricks on me.

  • Are black walnuts with black hulls rotten inside, or can I still eat them?

I'm harvesting and hulling some local black walnuts. Some of the hulls have gotten black but most don't have worms inside. Are those nuts still good? I'm putting the hulled nuts in a pail of water; all of the black ones are sinking, but some of the greens are floating (I know I should get rid of the floaters because they don't have full nuts in them). Also, how long do I have to cure the nuts. I've heard from 2 weeks to 6 months! Thanks for any help.

  • What happens if I get caught with no vendor's license selling art at a fair?

I'm going to be selling my artwork at a large arts & crafts show in two days. For various reasons, I don't have a vendor's license to sell my art. I've done it before and no one ever had a problem with it. Today I heard they are doing random checks for the vendor's license at the show! I would buy it online, but apparently I can't do that! What will happen if I get caught besides being kicked out of the show? Can they fine me or put me in jail or something? Is there some way I can get a vendor's license quickly? I feel awful about not getting the license, but there is a really good reason for it (please don't yell at me). I'm in ohio, if location makes a difference.
