Flying in for a business meeting but because of flight times likely to have a good 7 hours spare to explore. I will have a hire car.

We live in the UK but I need to send flowers - and something typical of my Girlfriends S African homeland and ideally orangey in colour (her favorite) would be great. I just need some pointers on a common flower and then I can research the rest.

A friend has a hard drive (with XP) and wants me to recover some data from it. I only have the drive. If I connect it to my Vista PC (both as a slave and as a Master) I cant access it. In slave mode it says its not formatted (I'm guessing this is because it has Windows on it) and as Master my PC won't boot.

Any ideas?

She is a single Mother and although working claims single parent child tax allowance. Now at a stage of moving in together (although not at this stage marrying) and she is worried that a significant part of her income will vanish. Is this so? - Could we apply for the same money as a couple? Or are we still seen as two adults with different tax affairs? I'm confused - any help appreciated.

Struggling with Amtrak - can only do bits of the journey. UK sites only seem to offer rail passes where I would rather book with someone who can sort me out sleeper cabins and the whole thing etc.

Going out there to watch cricket this time next year. Normally we do a short flight to get to the next island. Interested to know if there's any more novel methods (ship obviously). Anything cheap with a good bar for 3 thirsty cricket fans?

OK between you and me, I am on £38k p.a

So with personal allowance, I can go to £38,925 until I go from 22% to 40%. But going to 40% I pay more tax, more company car tax etc.

So I presume I need to get way beyond £39k to make it viable? I'm likely to get a 3-5% increase so I'm thinking what's the point - its a loss leader.

I'm staying at the Best Western Mitte (wherever that is!) for 2 nights on buisness with a collegue and want somewhre cool to go to.

Have an artex celing in my bedroom. Three nail heads have suddenly appeared. Is this anything to worry about?

I hope its just the celing panel thats attached to the joist above being dislodged. Is the best thing to do to screw them back in and paint over?

Or is it indicative of something else.

House is 15 years old and the loft just has wooden celing joists. I have no major weight in the loft.

Most times I go over to France on Eurotunnel the customs guys sweep a weird small brush thing over the steering wheels of random cars. No idea what its for and neither have any of the people Ive taken over.

And today they seemed to be doing it over the door handles of some cars. Weird.
